Dear Kirsty, you're an amazing artist and so generous in sharing your skills with us. I just turned 70 and it's a joy and great inspiration to watch your vids and pick up my drawing and painting again...it has been a while!☺
Hey everyone! Here is my Do's and Don'ts video for drawing lips! This is for beginners and advanced beginners that want to draw realistically and want to improve their drawing skills. I am just talking through common mistakes and how you can prevent them step by step :D I hope you enjoy the tutorial! If you do please like and share, it would mean a lot
I'm just speechless at how much details and layers done for the painting.. I' came here just by curiosity, and I'm glad that I found your wonderful video !
It's my first time doing a real person pencil portrait! I followed your instructions and got a pretty descent mouth for a first time that i'm really satisfied about. You're awesome! Keep up the good work :D
Lots of things to take away and practice but biggest message for me was keep building and blending. I would normally stop my drawing after first shading but the way you keep working to achieve a realistic finish is just inspiring. Thanks !
I love this tutorial so much. It isn't annoying, and doesn't drag out. Most tutorials make u feel the urge to fast forward. It is very satisfying to watch u do each layer.
thank you so much for this video, it was really helpful. I haven't drawn in almost 10 years and I tried to pick it up again yesterday and I was having such a hard time with mouths. I'll be checking out your other videos too to help me brush up on my drawings.
Thankyou Kristy for your way of explaining the details of drawing. I’ve been drawing for many years now self taught. And I never really knew where I was at or if my method was the best 1… but after watching your videos I realise my method is exactly the same as yours! 😃 minus some little things you do to make your art amazing! I love your work and Thankyou again for helping me to evolve to the next level mentally. I feel heaps more confident knowing im on the right track
The amount of time, patience and perfectionism behind realistic drawing🤯 . I don't think I could ever achieve something like this! For me was already fine at 10 min 😅. You are a patient talented artist
Thank you for drawing the don't as you did. You drew them realistically to how a fairly skilled beginner would. Many people have skills to draw lips that look slightly realistic, but want their drawing to be hyper-realistic.
Absolutely amazing ! A real pleasure to watch you work and create an absolutely stunning portrait before my eyes!! so inspiring. thanks for the privilege to see your amazing gift in action.
I love your tutorials. You have taught me to go from really ordinary to really amazing in just a few months. Thankyou for the do’s and dont’s. You are a very talented young woman. 😀
Thank you for sharing. Some of this I learned accidentally by trial and error. Explaining the use of different grade pencils really helped. I have pages of lips and noses! I enjoyed watching you work. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this video. I am learning how to draw realism and honestly I’m grateful for this and the fact I’ve progressed to semi-realism. Thank you again. You’re really helpful :)
Excellent!! Thanks for some great tips. I'm just getting into drawing and painting. Can't believe I'm trying it after all these years!! I use to dabble when I was younger and wasn't awful. But I won't ever be close to this good but it gives me something to work at. Blessings......
+TooStinkinFine my pleasure 😊 I am glad you are starting to draw again! And you will be able to be able to achieve this level of drawing it will just take practice, which I know if something everyone says but it really is true. Practice loads but try to critique each piece of art you create and set yourself goals of what you want to improve on for the next piece. Most of the time people find it harder to improve because they don't identify the mistakes they are making and so just keep making them 😊 good luck with your art 💕
Thank you so much for the encouragement!! And I will critique every single thing. I assure you that I'm my own worst critic.. LOL!.. So glad I found your channel and subscribed! Looking forward to watching all your videos. God bless you.
Great job Kirsty, I like drawing at home and pretty good at it too but I find I am never happy with the results of drawing mouths. I will watch this video a few more times to try get to half your level of expertise lol. Thanks for sharing. Azza in Australia.
this was a really really great tutorial!! i admit i am VERY guilty of drawing it like the first one! lol but alas i did get better!! this was also very helpful!!!
thank you SOOOOO much! I was really struggling to draw lips, but with your tips i improved immediately. Usually Dos and don'ts videos dont help me that much but without your guidance it would probably take me at least 2 months to get better
These do's and don'ts are some of the most helpful videos for me, mostly because she goes over what you shouldn't do and it's like oohhhhhhh that explains a lot- but thank you for posting!
When she was talking about types of pencil I didn't understand anything because when I draw I use a pencil I just pick up somewhere HECk I don't even know what pencil I'm using! XD
Procrastination 101 cute! Maybe you are thinking of an average yellow pencil. You can buy a set of professional artist pencils for cheap, they are different from a common yellow pencil as they give you different softness or hardness. Isabel Torres here gives you the breakdown. Confusing at first but once you see the set of pencils and try them out you will understand right away. Have fun!
The H’s are mixed with clay to make a lighter and more hard pencil. Whereas the B’s are made with mostly just graphite to make a dog and dark pencil :)
Very nice tutorial. Taught me more in 15 minutes than I got from twice weekly art lessons at school for 4 years. :-) Many Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Super-easy sub.
Just found you’re channel! Thank you so much for sharing, I had forgotten how much I love art, it’s been over 20 years and now I’ve just started again and it’s been amazing especially during these awful times. X 💕x 🌈
im watching your tutorial for almost a week now and its my day 2 of what i learn from all of your tutorial, i hope that soon i can draw realistic art like yours... Thank you for your free tutorial... 😁😁😁

hello yea I'm trying to be a tattoo artist and your supposed to spend alot of time on the paper first. if your lines aren't good on paper don't even bother with pig skin. I just don't get how they tattoo realistic faces and get the shading down when all I see on RUclips is people doing realistic faces with blenders if you can use a blender when tattooing then what do they do?

Best tip that i ever got from anyone, thanks for the great video!

And just like that people are quoting you
The amount of effort you put into drawing lips is greater than my effort I gave in doing anything my whole life.
