I was strimming yesterday with the c26-2 it's the second one I've had. the first one I could never get it to feed like that but the new ones work perfectly and the fs130r/kma130r is a quality strimmer love it.

Can't say I'm over enamoured with this head. I have had the same trouble trying to pre-school it and I find that a single bump puts out too much cord. The locking ring also comes off should you hit a foreign object hiding in the grass. To add insult to injury, I also find that after an hour or so of strumming my wrist is too weak to push the head round to re-spool. Personally, I'm gonna bung my old 25-2 head back on.

What does the 26-2 stand for? I also see 25-2 and don’t know what the numbers represent? Thank you.

The Speedfeed 450 is way easier to use and functions much better.

d hamby When it comes time to change this one, I will look into it.
Have found this to be an excellent head - great height control and easy to change cord - even if I don’t get it through first time every time 😉

Even if you go with the cheaper speedfeed 300 you'll find the design much easier to load and that it functions better bumping the line. If you don't mind carrying an extra spool or 2 the SuperCut 20-2 automatic feeding head makes it easier to keep trimming.

I've just been into the shop for an Echo Speed feed head (€40) and they say it doesn't have adapters for a Stihl machine. Say there's an equally good Oregon Lightening something and the smaller knell behalf in two I shortly. Meanwhile I bought this what I presume will turn little a right piece of crap.

@@johncollins8304 I'm sorry, of course the Stihl shop told you that. Most speedfeed kits online have several adapters for many machines. I use the green one on my Stihl and the red one for my Ryobi. You may know that most single brand shops will either intentionally mislead you or not actually know the facts about other brands.

@@1d1hamby Thank you. On rereading my own message I see that autocorrection had garbled things so much that even I couldn't make sense of it.
Well it wasn't a one - brand shop -- they have Stihl, Echo, Oregon. The heads I've seen online with the adapter kits all seem to be cheap knock-offs, with sufficient bad reviews to make me go for genuine. And as I couldn't find genuine Echo online I presumed they had an 'agency-only' policy; but the shop said no, you can find genuine ones online.
Meanwhile I've seen a guy knock through the central metal threaded part (round one end, hexagonal the other) in an unused Stihl hesd and put that into the Echo (disposing of that one).
      Anyway, thanks for your advice.
