- When a new product is introduced to me, I like to share it. this video will simply explain how to install the Stihl C 26-2 weed eater head onto you weed eater. no this item is suppose to eliminate the string getting stuck in the spools by simply running the line directly through the Auto feeder. I'll do a separate video on that. I'll include a link to this item. www.amazon.com...

I really appreciate you going to the effort to show me how that locking plate works. Most guys just show you how to jam something in there, but you made it all make sense. Thanks for the extra knowledge.
George
EXACTLY what I needed! The guy at the hardware store explained it but it is now a couple of days later and I wasn't sure I remembered all the steps but YOU EXPLAINED IT PERFECTLY. I will be checking out your other videos. Thanks a ton.
Thanks for Subscribing 👍🏾
Iv got one of these head it's a nightmare.breaking cord.not any cord coming out so randam
@@TheMillieruby no issues with mine 🤷🏾♂️
Thanks for this excellent video
Excellent video. My stihl dealer did tell me the hole is the key to replacing the head. We used your video to refresh our memory and had the entire head replaced in minutes. Thanks a lot. 😀
Great video, much appreciate the thorough walk through of changing out the line feeder heads, you made it super easy!
I've got a FS56 that needs a new head. This video was perfect to show how it gets done. I like the nice close up shots inside the head. Thanks!
Thank you for saving us money by thoroughly explaining this process …
Super helpful! I wasted about half an hour until I found this video. Many thanks!
Thank you Sir! I really appreciate your video! My Stihl came with no instructions on changing this head out, for $980.00 I didn't even get instructions but you give them for free. Thank you from a new subscriber.
Sully
Thanks for this video. Just spent an hour prior to discovering you trying to get the old C26-2 off. Now working fine with replacement part. It's easy when you know how but almost impossible without the trick
Your welcome.
yep that c 26 head sucks its too bulky i went with a c25 head.
I don't have a Stihl string trimmer, but I really want to get the FS 94 R. I was worried about changing the head to the auto cut one, but you showed that its way simpler than I thought it would be. Thanks BYD!
Walt of All Trades I had the same concerns you had. I even bought it and let it sit in the back of my truck for a month and 1/2. Finally I did this video. I shoot a video today call the day in the life of my C 26-2. I know you want to know the results 😀
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral Yes, yes I do. Can't wait to see it! 😃
Great video short & to the point !
I just picked up my new head , installing today .
Your videos r great
Thank u Soooo much

Canadian Lawn maintenance guy 😊
thank you, thank you, thank you I bought a Stihl FS 94 R last season in October I was having trouble with the original head so I bought the Stihl Auto cut c26-2 it sat in my cabinet for months so I decided to look into changing it out so I looked it up and yours was the first video that came up so I watched it hell yeah brotha now I can weed eat with out all the B's. lol thank you sir I really appreciate it my brotha
You’re welcome 😀
Thanks for the video tip; But I believe that's a left-handed thread, so reverse now would be lefty-tighty--righty-loosey!
Thank you bro. I have an FS 94 R and getting ready to change to that head because I hate winding string. I was trying to figure out how to take it off so this video is right on time.
Does it work for the 94 R model?
I just got it done on a Stihl FS 111 RX. Many thanks, bro. 👍
Great video. Helped me out! Now make a video to polish the scratches out of your hood!
Thank u so much. I've been trying to put that spool like u have. Forever. Thank u
Got the Echo branded version on my 58v Trimmer; works great, no issues. You will never go back to a non Auto Feed Trimmer head.
Richie Benjamins how long have you had yours?
Bermudagrass Central got it Christmas time 2017, almost 2 years now.
Richie Benjamins I can’t wait to put her through it Richie 😃
Bermudagrass Central looking forward to following along watching the great tips and tricks along the way.
My stihl came with that head. I like it.
Good video
Thanks for posting it
Appears to work similar to the Echo Speed-Feed head
I took about 10 feet of tangled orange line off my new head, replaced it with slightly larger yellow line. Went on with some aggravation. It seemed to work ok, but after a while the head was unbalanced because again, oi ne side was feeding. I hate this trim head. I'm going back to my head that uses the white knives and a foot long strand with a knot tied in the middle. I dont cut manicured lawns- I cut wild areas that are dominated with stubborn weeds.
Just ordered this head, hope it’s a runner.
Very helpful videos thank you very much
Could’ve sworn I had an fs91r but turns out I have the 90r. From everything I can see they’re identical as far as head design, but when I tighten it down, the weedeater won’t turn it.
Great video! Thank you for your help, Im installing mine today
Oh dear! Potentially very useful but with the camera swaying around in an uncontrolled state it makes one seasick. A good investment would be a tripod.
Hey I got to thank you your video helped out a lot. And I was curious how they did take that that head off. Now I know.
Thank You Sir!! Appreciate your video 😊
Looks like you are using the Stihl recommendation of a carbon fibre string.
Thank you for the info I truly appreciate you and I subscribed
@@bartonbutler985 thanks 🙏🏾
I use a nail to lock the clutch and remove head with hand turning.
Drake Leroy good idea Drake 👍🏾
You saved me today! Thnx bro!!!
👍BYD got your a1 day 1 camera man on the footage good 2 👀
Thank you Good instructions, Tom McNeil
Thank you so much. You're a lifesaver.
Very very helpful!!!! 🙌🙌
God bless you man. Why doesn’t the manual include such critical information as the steps you show on the video?
No idea 🤷🏾♂️ but that what made me make this video 👍🏾
Man, you have a great channel. Put some hair around that locking point and you’ll find it better. Hurrah!
Wonderful. Thank you sir.
Nice job! Very informative.
Thank you.....helped a lot
I installed one I think I can’t get the same amount of string on it like the one beforehand
Can't attach this to the curved shaft combi tool trimmer.
This was extremely helpful, however, I thought you were Spice Adams lol.
Thank you for sharing
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thanks dude appreciate it!
Great information, thanks
Will the steel c262 fit on any petrol strimmer
Glyn Jones that’s a question I couldn’t answer glyn🤷🏾♂️ sorry.
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral ok thanks
Excellent video
How do you like it so far? Does it feel differently at all?
Greg Kohls Jr. I haven’t used it extensively yet, I’m planning on doing that tomorrow, hopefully I’ll have a video up next week.
ok, when the head runs out of line, does it spit the rest out or what? Thaks
Burn Every cop car it feeds just like the regular head, the difference is you crank it it with the bottom of the bumper. Better yet I’ll do a video on that soon .
Thank you
You’re welcome
Can you use the tougher line on the auto feeder head or do you think it would still get bound up? I’ve got an Echo with the auto feeder but it came with the round string in it.
Ryan Pounds I’m not sure about the echo brand but the feeder should work with all the sizes and styles of echo strings unless stated differently on the manual or packaging.
Thank you!
I bought the one that no extras fit on the fs 50 🙄
That would be Lefty tighty, righty loosey, on right hand threads. Had one on my echo, hated it, took it off.
James Pittman yeah I hear that a lot about the Echo brand.
Thank brother
Will it work on huquarva?
Roderick Garcia not sure about that Roderick 🤷🏾♂️
Are you still running this? Thoughts on this now.
I love it but you do get a slow down when changing the head because you have to crank the sting back in.
Anybody know how to get the c 26-2 head off to replace?
Did you watch this video?
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral I did! I was asking how do you then take off the c 26-2 not the older head but the c 26-2 head itself. I bought one but when I tried to remove it I had trouble removing it.
Those are the worst heads to get. The best is the original ones from my perspective.
yep c 26 heads suck
Tell us...why?
@@kgt9535 experience. Been doing this over 20 years
Actual video starts at 8:07
Why is this video blank?
Lefty tighty righty loosy 😂
😂😂😂😂god bless America
Thanks for the info but you rambled on nearly 8 minutes of a 10:44 video before you actually showed how to change the head.
@@ronverdell1493 I don’t know if I should say thanks or what, first insult I received on this video. Sometimes you just gotta say thank you and move on right ? 🤷🏾♂️

No need to grease as it’s a sealed bearing. All your going to do by adding grease is trap a load of rubbish causing friction and heat.
Totally disagree. There is a grease fitting near the tip. I’ve had this weed eater head combo unit since 1998. This is why most landscapers burn the head up in about 5 years. They need fresh grease yearly. They even sell the lube that literally screws right into it.
Yeah, so a couple things wrong with this video, but “righty tighty, lefty loosey” is wrong in this case. Looks like it’s reverse thread, so counter clockwise actually tightens it, as opposed to the conventional clockwise tightening. If you’re going to try to teach folks something, try to get the details right.
You are absolutely correct, thanks for correcting the information 👍🏾 .
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral You’re doing good work, brother. Keep it up.
This head sucks! The "speed Feed" part is slow and tough to wind - do yourself a Favor and get the Echo Speed Feed 400 or 450 universal head. You're welcome!
Get to it already my god
Hopefully you got what you needed out of this video Desco?, let me know if you didn’t so I can fix it.
Thank you
Thank you
