How to calculate an Ethanol Mix: ruclips.net/video/_vbqcIDlOC4/видео.html
Meanwhile I’m trying to get more Ethanol in my B58 😂
Appreciate you weighing in on this. Living in Canada, we only have the choice of 94 oct, 93 oct and 91 oct readily available from the pumps, unfortunately. In Canada Shell gas stations(at least, one near me) USED to carry ethanol free fuel and are a cent or two more per litre, I don't think so anymore.
short, sweet and to the point👌
Great video!
Good points!
i used ethanol free as much as possible on my old car the extra 1-2mpg was worth it because of how low the range on that car was. It would go from 275 miles to 310 per tank, which was enough to go 2 weeks between fill ups going to work
I watch kern for the intros
Big thing with any fuel is getting it from a station with lots of traffic. I get my 93 e10 from one or two stations, and my e85 from a certain local brand.
There are at least 7 E85 stations in my area and only one of them is worth a damn. There is a line wrapped around the station to get fuel from this good E85 pump every time I go there. The other stations I never see anyone pumping E85 so who know how long that stuff has been in there.
Hi Kern, ur videos are very helpful. I have a 2017 540i stage 2+ 93 with tu pump as a daily. I want to make around 600hp by just upgrading the turbo and a custom tune with E30/40. Whats the best route? Daw hypercore or vargas gc
what if the highest non ethanol fuel in my area is 89 and 90 from what ive found is that still ok to mix with E to get e40 ?
When running pump gas I always add 2 oz of boostang just to be safe. And for my e50 map I get my e85 from a local race track never a gas station as it’s never a true e85
Remember e85 is corrosive but using an e40 blend will help. If you can afford it 100 octane race gas is safer for your engine in the long run. You do have to get a custom tune for it to switch to. It’s not as convenient as e85.
now that I'm on e85 I just wish my stations E pump was better than E65...
I am in Europe, visited Germany a month back and filled up with their 102 octane and flashed the mhd 102map. Oh my word that was an insane difference from 95map. No ethenol and pureboost uses the aral fuel for their maps
Where I live in Indiana has a circle K gas station that has ethanol free gas. Got a 2018 340i Xdrive, should I use the ethanol free? Are there any disadvantages?
He just Answered all off your questions…. But the answer is yes If ethanol free is available use it!
Hi so in our country we only have 87 octane fuel
If I wanna mix e30.. looking at that we have poor quality fuel how do we go about that? Thanks
You need a tune, and maybe replace some fuel lines as ethanol and rubber don't mix. Don't forget the fuel return lines, they might not like ethanol and you don't need a fuel leak.
E30 has octane rating at 94.4. So if you only have 87octane fuel you have to mix: 35L of pure 100% ethanol with 30L of 87oct fuel to make 65L of E59 to reach other E30 (94,4octane rating)
What about the degradation of seals/rubber etc throughout the engine? Wont ethanol eventually breakdown these components and cause failure ?
It will
Anyone have experience with octane boosters for those like me who doesn't have access to ethanol or methanol? Just to boost the octane of pump gas.
Lucas is pretty good in small amounts. Don't over use it. Need to change plugs more often also.
The only ethanol free fuel I’ve seen in upstate NY is 91 Oct; All Stewart’s shops.
Shout out to their sub sandwiches!
The sheetz flex fuel near me pumps out e75ish and the octane label has a rating of 94 🧐🤷♂
I don’t know why but whenever I use sheetz e85 my timing is always being pulled, but when I switch to speedway e85, zero / very minor timing corrections. Both are mixed with shell 93 to e65ish, on bootmod3 stage 2+ FF.
@@nickmarsden8129 I wish i had more e85 stations around. All I got is sheetz within a 100 miles radius. Never had issues with timing besides 1 or 2 degress in 1 or 2 cylinders.
99 octane petrol always ⛽ 0% ethanol only the best fuel in the uk
yes, im from europe, no ethanol is better, always, for your engine, maybe less power, but it last, all those injector and ofh problems are practically not excisting over here, i tank 102 pure gas octane from germany
Up here in Ontario, Canada all gas now contains up to 10%. Someone who works at shell claims their 93 only has up to 7%. Not sure ,but I stick with shell 93
