    I love watching your videos, I enjoy learning all things B58. In referencing the usual things to do to an engine to gain more "horsepowers", for the B58 most/all of the upgrades are turbo related. What about head porting, larger lift camshaft with more duration, stroker kits (I know there is a stroker kit but its a lot of money to gain 0.2L). What about a deck plate to increase the deck height and make the B58 a 4.0L?

      No way you can stroke this 3.0L engine to a 4.0L. That’s a 1L difference! Lol

    Might have been answered but can you keep the mhd eca can enabled with multimap and disable the flex fuel box so that you can still get a reading of e from the can sensor? I tried doing that on my stage 2 plus x3m40i and I was getting a lean to rich code and throttle response was very poor until 50 percent throttle and above 2500 RPM. Thanks!

    So I’m still very new to this, but I have a gen 2 B58 and Bm3 stage 2 catless. Based off of what I got, it seems that the sweet spot for peak power is e40, but since I do not have any flex fuel hardware or sensors, I’m better off selecting the e40 map, and aim for an e45 mix just to have that extra insurance in octane levels so that timing and peak possible power is there?

      Ditch the headaches and get the flex fuel kit.. unless you don't mind sitting at the gas station checking the ethanol content,calculating it and then checking data logs to make sure your timing isn't out of wack.

    I have a WRX, hoping Cobb makes a Flex Fuel kit again. I technically no need it but then I'd have to have dual tunes and switch back and forth if no e85 available. So most likely I'll wait for a new flex fuel kit. Apparently they're putting R&D into a new one so

    Hi sir, newbie question here but my country (Singapore) does not have E85 or any ethanol pump station. I do however manage to find some VP racing gas and premixed methanol being sold. Would methanol be able to increase the octane rating of my pump gas or is it solely for cooling. Also do I need a separate custom map for when im running methanol or with racing gas? Im just trying to figure out if without ethanol but with racing gas would it enable to me reach those powers as E85 drivers have been enjoying😅
    Lastly would there be any advisable way to set up the methanol injection system? I heard a lot about the methanol not being delivered equally to all cylinders if its sprayed at charge pipe. Would there be a way to mount 6 nozzles to the port injection plate to spray into each cylinder individually

    • @kern417
      @kern417  8 месяцев назад +1

      race gas and methanol work very well, but yes you will need a custom tune to take advantage of it. race gas can get the same power as ethanol so it's a great option if you have it available.
      the best way to run methanol is port meth injection. companies like Williams Performance sell port injection spacer plates for meth.
