    What up,big homie, chiming in again. I did the exact data logging with full e85 and 93 on my MHD stage 2+ w/TU pump. The car actually runs smoother on the E85 map. The mid-range torque felt a little better on the 93 map. I started filling e85 when chitown gas prices were 5.99 for 93.

    Installed the MHD flex fuel analyzer with a TU pump and and have been running e85 with the stage 2+ multimap. Should probably run some logs soon.

    I’ve found E40 on my 340i with TU Pump + MHD Flex Fuel + MHD Tune is significantly much better in terms of speed and smoothness than compared to E30, it’s cool tho with the flex fuel kit + tune. I be running E20 and the added boost is enough to increase speed.

    Hello, I don't have much experience in the world of tuning but I bought the MHD unlock for BMW M8 2020 (bench unlock) I want to buy my super MHD license tomorrow. What else do you recommend so I don't have problems? for example mandatory ngk spark plugs? And what can I do to use ethanol with the MHD tune?

    I'm running MHD flexfuel with their CAN ECA. I'm not sure what you are saying that MHD is the only option that optimizes the maps to the actual content. Sure, they will set timing and boost according to the actual E, but to me, and according to a previous video you made on this particular topic, a static E40 map running actual E42 or E43 will be faster than a flexfuel map running the same fuel.
    But maybe you mean that there is no other company offering live timing and boost adaptation to the E content?

      No other company has an option for optimal mix. It's a straight flat curve from e0 to e85. Only mhd has the option for Peak Performance somewhere in the middle.

    Ethanol tune has been bad since day 1. Hopefully regapping the plugs are the answer. Missfires like crazy above e30

    Thanks a lot for that great comparison, especially your explanation on the logs.
    I didn't know that you can run an OTS maps (like here the stage 2 hpfp map with flex fuel) on a non-stock turbo.
    And concerning ethanol: So in the US, ethanol is available at your gas stations? Is it pure (100%) ethanol or how do I have to understand "E85"? Because normally the number explains the percentage of ethanol, for example E40=40% ethanol. So E85% would mean 85% ethanol mixed with 93 octance gas?
    And concerning power: So my understanding now is, the better the fuel quality (or let's say the higher the ethanol content), the higher the timing can be set, resulting in more power. But there are limits of the system (e.g. the direct injectors) due to which after a specific amount of ethanol (limit), boost has to be decreased, resulting in total reduction of power (e.g. comparison E69 vs. E39).

      For reference, OTS map does work with some non-stock turbos, but the car in this video has a stock Turbo.
      And yes, there is a point where you get the optimal mix of boost and timing with an ethanol mix, and then adding more ethanol only limits the amount of boost you can run without making more power.

      And concerning E85 (because we don‘t have it here in Germany):
      So it is a mixture of 85% pure Ethanol and 15% 93 octane? That would make it not that easy to hit a specific ethanol content, if you‘re not having a flex fuel kit and rather need to hit a specific ethanol target (e.g. E40).

      @@gwspom it's 85% ethanol and 15% pump gas. But they don't really confirm what the pump gas octane is. Only need to do is put 85% ethanol in the calculator when you figure out your mix. It's not that hard

    Hey Kern,
    I live in AZ, we have pretty poor fuel to choose from out here. Highest pump gas is 91oct, sometimes you can find 100oct. I want to start running E40 as I got the TU Pump for my F22 240. I’ve been considering buying the MHD Flex Fuel kit for the convenience factor, but if I remember correctly you said the kit doesn’t read 91 Oct so I would have to get a custom tune to go with the kit. Is that still true? Or am I just limited to Stage 2, and not stage 2+ because I can’t mix the E85 with 93? Been seeing a lot of mixed answers on the forums.

      @@noahmcauley4112 I reached out to MHD, the newest flex fuel kit now supports 91 mixing. Highly recommend getting the Gen2 sensor!

      @@kern417 fr feels like another car but where am I living ethanol cannot be found on pump u have to get it on tanks and the price is 16.34$ per one gallon!!! So I tried E40 for only one time and couldn’t do it again it does cost alot I wish it wasn’t🥲🥲

    so kern, my tuner prefers e30 because he can run more boost, my question is, for roll racing, i won’t be doing dig racing at all or if i do very minimal, is higher boost better? i’m on ds2 stock turbo

      E30 higher boost is actually better. Buddy of mine with the M340i(Gen2) runs jb4 custom tune E30 mix and is pushing over 500hp with a lot of boost.

      I've also been told by my tuner, that he prefers boost over timing. Reason is, that the B58 may handle lots of boost, due to closed deck construction, but not that much timing (not more than 16 degrees) due to the high compression. As a result in case of too much timing, he saw a couple of web breakings at pistons. Whereas the rods of the B58 seem to be extremely endurable.

      16° is a lot of timing. Pump gas maps run less than 10. But once you get to 15°-16° then more boost makes a bigger improvement than more timing. The b58 Hits maximum efficiency around there.

      If you're pushing it yes. When doing normal driving I don't notice much of a difference. Maybe 1-2mpg

    I try 100-200km/h on Bm3 st2+ with tu only on gas 93(98-100 in Russia) and it be 9.3-9.4s
    On e10 I runs 8.80-9s
    Many saying what mhd a little slower like bm3 or mgf
    Is it really true?

      The fastest B58s around a track are stock motor pushing 600+whp. But go awf 😅

      @@durin23 you can do what every other car does? Do you know what an oil accumulator is? Or a dry sump? Ever been curious about that silver or blue bottle in all the FD cars? It's not just nitrous 😏
      It spun because it was defective. The rest of the engine and all other bearings were perfect 😉 Thankfully it's not like those M engines that have accelerated bearing wear even without tracking 😂
