    Working on a case identical to yours, don’t have a scanner so I ordered me one, but now I know what to do after seeing your video.Apparently the rebuilt compressor I just put 2 days ago (of pure agony) came with a blown thermo sensor. Thanks a lot hermano!

    Nice video, thanks! The temp switch for the CRV compressor is 38908-RWC-A02, mounted to the side of the compressor, 2 wires, looks like the end of your pinky held in place using a brkt/8mm screw.
    Should be closed normally, open when it senses overheating. I suspect I have this issue, intermittently clutch doesn't engage but going to fabricate a jumper at the conn (wires 12+13) so when it shuts down on a hot day, I can enable the jumper and see if the clutch activates. Of course I won't know if the sensor is truly sensing hi temp for the compressor or not working within spec Open circuit >252F, closed

      My sister 200 miles away paid another shop to ts the AC and electrical system and they said 1450.00 to swap compressor. I talked to the guy and it didn't sound right. She took it to another place that said compressor so he swapped it out and it's now an electrical problem. I'm a retired mechanic and there needs to be a lot more classes on ts.

    My 2009 CR-V ac works fine on days when it is not hot. When the temp on the dash panel shows more than around 83 degrees, then the ac starts blowing warm air. When the temp cools down, then it goes back to blowing cold air. I think it must be a thermostat issue but I don't know where. Someone told me it must be the compressor. Any insights? Thanks.

    The pressure sensor readings are commanding the clutch on and off.Why is this thermal protection needed?Is this a fail safe mode if the regular pressure sensor fails and the pressure in the system raises too much?

    • @MaicSalazarDiagnostics
      @MaicSalazarDiagnostics  5 лет назад +4

      Petar the thermal protector is there just in case the compressor gets to hot because is next to the exhaust manifold. Honda has a recall on these compressors and extended the warranty to 10 years or 100k miles. It is just a bad design, so they add that to try to extend the life of the compressor.

    There is a recall on the 2002-2009 Honda CRV Ac Clutch, common problem from bad design and it gets so hot in that are , the heat causes disintegration. Shouldn’t cars be checked for recall before commencing with expensive repairs. I have the same problem with my 2007, and I checked first and found the recall.

    • @MaicSalazarDiagnostics
      @MaicSalazarDiagnostics  5 лет назад +1

      There is not such thing! They extended the warranty on the clutch which for most of these cars is long gone! And yes we always check TSB and recall info! Costumers can do that too!

      Honda's been having these AC Problems before 2000 and never had fixed it since, just like what they had on their transmissions. Sadly 😔☹️ aren't that good of a design, perhaps overdone it. BTW they only go bad at least after 10-15 years of usage LoL 😂😁🤣
