As we love yours ….especially on the Christmas movies …..! Sorry holiday movie! 😂😊 my favourite being Holiday! Sorry Diane ….we love you too …I could listen to you all day ! Well almost ….🤣🤣😘😘🙋♀️🎅👏
Diane, there's just so much to say about this tutorial! The intro with the darling farm animals was so fun to see and the added bonus in seeing a peak of your studio was so cool. It made me feel like I was walking into your studio with you. I can't believe how many gorgeous pieces of art you created and shared with your viewers. I always love your stories and I love watching your subscriber numbers grow. You and Tamsin put so much effort into these tutorials and it's recognized and appreciated. Thank you both.
I especially love your animals and the wonderful red barn and critter bookmark. Oh yes-and listening to your rain and animals! Actually loved all of this, as usual. Thank you Diane!
So much fun! Seeing the landscapes built and varied skies is enlightening. The tree doodles give me a quick easy way to produce something sophisticated on the spot. Thanks for all you do. A peaceful evening - entertaining and educating.❤
I would whether you paint your French styled houses rather than American. I see American houses everyday. So keep on painting just like you've been painting we love it.
Yes, you can indeed write with the Coliro metallic paints. They are favourites of calligraphers. Love all your shares, Diane. So many fun ideas and suggestions. Thank you so much. BTW, the Kuretake Starry colours can be mixed with the Gansai Tambi watercolours to make lovely metallic colours.
The "Rule of Thirds" has been one of the best things I learned. Some of your 'gold' paints can mix with colors. I especially like it for the holidays. It makes everything look shiny and glittery. I've been wanting to buy those new ones you have for months. Us ''Mericans'' love those cottages. Our homes tend to look like card board boxes and 'cold'. Log cabins are awesome. I think I should have been born in the 1700's.
Hi Teri, you're right about all that! However, by far the majority of Brits don't live in cottages, they live in box-like houses or concrete apartment blocks. It's just a romantic illusion! And most of our houses are horribly badly insulated so they are either too hot or too cold! I'm with you on the log cabins! Wouldn't that be great, with the smell of pines?
Diane, i so enjoy your videos. After a long day as a nurse, it is so nice to come to the computer and watch your videos. I especially love hearing your animals. You are living my dream on the farm and painting every day. I have to say I laughed out loud tonight when you made the comment that your husband looked like Dr Zhivago. I moved to Chicago during the polar vortex 9 years ago. It was -25 degrees without the windchill and Chicago, of course is known for it's windy days. Nonetheless, my car also froze to the parking lot, flattened my tire and when my darling son came to assist, the car rolled forward off the jack.. It was definitely an adventure that I don't care to relive 🙂
Thanks so much Brenda for your comments and for sharing your weather experience! It can be terrifying, can’t it! I was completely taken aback by the extent of the cold weather in Calgary. I never did get used to it, and in the end we moved to Bermuda which was a different experience all together!
This was wonderful Diane! Thank you so much! As others have said .. I wouldn't change a thing.. LOVE English cottages and Hedgehogs.. and everything else you do. Hugs from Tx , deb
I loved this video. I know I have said this to you before - and I hope you don't take offence - but you would be an amazing illustrator for children's books. I can already see the stories and pictures of little rabbits, hedgehogs and foxes in winterwonderlands. You are an incredibly wonderful artist. Thank you for sharing your time in the studio. ❤
To tell you the truth, Anne, it would’ve been my dream when I was young to do work like that! I think I’m too long in the tooth now, but I’m happy sharing what I can with you guys. Happy painting and sending you seasons greetings!
Gold on black is pretty. Oh, place Matt's was a good idea. Makes me think of wrapping paper too. What? No Charlie Brown Christmas tree? 😂 I think I'll invest is this set rather than the Kuretake. Have a few of those in my Kuretake set. Thank you for the testing D. ❤
Love it all,. relaxed right along with you except while watching I was finishing off a crocheted headband/Ear warmer. Apropos considering your theme lol. Thanks much for sharing
Dianne, seeing you and your beautiful home and family is a special treat that I so look forward to. I can't tell you how much joy it brings to another old fart just starting out on my art journey. I have Multiple Sclerosis/severe advanced osteoarthritis (was childhood arthritis some 45+ year's ago) mixed in with life threatening allergies, so spend 50% of my life in bed (from where I paint too) and 75% in my tiny flat. I grew up on a sheep farm and so miss the many varied animals and general inspiration that life brings. Plus I must say I loved the first bookmark so much that I am going to have a go at producing something similar for my mother in law (art lecturer) for Christmas. So from one old long in the tooth goat, please carry on with your own wonderful inspirational videos in your own cheerful, don't give a darn manner.
Hi Claire, thanks so much for your lovely message and sorry for the delay in replying. I wanted to reply properly and sometimes it takes a while to get through the comments. I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos. Sorry to hear that you have major health problems. I can definitely empathise with that. Myself I have many allergies which cause me to live a very restricted life in some people's estimation, but I'm blessed not to have arthritis or anything worse than asthma and high blood pressure. I am so glad you are enjoying the videos. We are putting up one tonight with some clips of our sheep, and I don't know if you know about our little side channel From the Garden where we share videos of our animals and garden - here's a link to one of the videos. We will be putting up more content soon, so maybe you'll subscribe to it so you get notifications when we do add videos to it. ruclips.net/video/x_SBlTWRwkQ/видео.html Thank you so much for your encouragement to continue with the channel, and I certainly hope to do so for years to come! Sending you joy and blessings this Christmastide xxx Diane xxx
The weather where I'm at in Phoenix, AZ. USA highs in the low 70's the lows in the 50's with one day of rain. Love your work this video is a special treat I alway want your video's to last longer. I sure it alot of work but it would be nice if you did longer video once a month or every other month. Enough of my rambling. Thanks Diane and Tamsin for sharing your time.
Hi Bren, thanks so much for your message and comments. I am going to try to do longer videos regularly, and it's good to hear from you that you enjoy the longer ones. Sometimes we have time issues, or the internet is very slow and we need to keep the videos shorter. But soon we'll have fibre optic speeds and it'll be easy to do long ones. Meanwhile, I'll try to do a long one two or three times a month. All the best and thanks for your support!
It’s warm and sunny today in Cape Town! Thanks to you, I also use a piece of spontex. It doubles as placemat for mugs. Although our Christmas is usually pretty warm, I loved the seasons I spent in England and still associate snow etc with Christmas.
I envy you your weather right now as we have fog and cold damp horribleness. Snow is overrated in my book!!! Thanks so much for your comment and I hope you enjoy the videos despite the season being all wrong for you! Best wishes!
Diane, love this tutorial. Such great work, I know it is difficult sometimes for me too to come up with ideas. My imagination is not at all what it used to be. Love the little houses and birds, they are so lovely. Thank you so much for sharing a little piece of your world with us.
Loved this- all of this! Especially love your whimsical animals skiing! Could you maybe share with us your latest sketches? I think I saw a bear, raccoon, and fox?! Simply adorable!🙌🏻💕 Gonna second the view of us Americans- don’t change a thing! We love seeing your scenery and house/barn styles
Hi Cheryl, thanks so much for your comment. Maybe that's the idea I was looking for to do today's video! Thanks so much, and bears and racoons coming up soon!
Hi Judit and so glad you are watching the channel and not cleaning the house! Hope you are enjoying the videos and doing lots of painting! Seasons greetings from France!!

Hi Susan and welcome to the channel if you‘re new - I love my transcontinental cousins to bits! Thanks so much for your kind words and I‘m so glad you enjoy the videos! Wishing you the best season‘s greetings xxx
Today I worked through your tutorial of the snowy landscape and, if I say so myself, it has turned out pretty well. I do get a bit frustrated watching your pencil moving so effortlessly across the paper and when I try to emulate you it doesn't quite work! I know I could download your sketches but I am determined to improve my sketching. So thank you once again Diane, another lovely afternoon spent in your company.
Thanks so much for your kind comment, and I'm very glad you are practising your sketching. It will come more easily eventually trust me! Sending you season's greetings xx
Thank you for such a treasure trove of ideas today Diane. I recently tried the Kuretake graphite green and gold for Christmas trees. They work really together!
Hi Lindy, and welcome to the studio! So glad you have subscribed to the channel, and I hope that you continue to enjoy the videos! Sending you seasons greetings and happy painting!
@@DianeAntoneStudio Thank you, Diane! I have been loving your channel! My studio has been primarily focused on oil painting with our master painter and dear friend, Richard Schmid, here in Putney, Vermont for the past 20 years. However, he died during Covid two years ago and is sorely missed. I will be re-opening the studio this summer after being closed throughout the pandemic. Will continue offering painting groups or workshops with those who studied with him or paint/teach in that genre of the grand manner. *(I do not teach and am not a professional artist). But secretly, I have to say, I prefer watercolors for the compactness and ease of traveling and for quick sketching, however, I have a LOT to learn! Cleaning watercolor brushes is also so such a dream! Richard, who could paint beautifully in all mediums, used to say that watercolor painting is the hardest medium of all to master-and he loved it. His oils just commanded higher prices to live on. . I am thinking we need to expand and offer watercolor workshops/painting groups. I never trained in watercolor, but dabbled a lot when younger. I do not have a lot of time to paint, so your exercises gave me a speedier sense of peace, joyfulness and contentment. I recently made all my thank you cards by painting your poppies in various ways. Friends and family think I am such great watercolorist now and want to frame them! Rather extraordinary after one, simple lesson! Perhaps, if you ever come to America, we should talk about teaching a workshop here! Meanwhile, I am so happy to observe, and occasionally play with, the ideas that you so kindly put out to the world. Know that you are spreading much joy, globally, to a world in great need!
I can’t wrap my mind around you. I try to paint and it looks like shit. You paint so carefree and it’s beautiful in the end. I wish my mama had been this creative I would definitely be a better artist. ❤😂
We Americans tend to love your English houses and cottages and scenery, so please don’t change for us 😃💕
This! 100%. 👆
Yes, please stick with European architecture. We’re tired of the American houses, here. Please ❤
Ps, not only do I love your art demos, but I love your European accent. Soooo refreshing!!

I do enjoy your narrative as you paint. I enjoy hanging out with you

80" of snow in Buffalo NY recently, fyi. Most Americans are fascinated with their garages, but they're big on barns too.
So whimsical! Thans you.
Wow! Great scenes! Thank you! Beautiful ideas!
Great for Kids, or gift tags. Thanks.
