- Today I'm painting some mini landscapes with woodland and trees in winter colours. These make great Christmas card projects. I'm painting these to get ideas for this week's step-by-step tutorial which will be up on Friday and will also feature a wintry woodland.

Those are all gorgeous! Placing them on the green and gold makes them really pop! I can imahine doing that with many other colors, too. Thank you. ❤
Thank you, so glad you liked them
I’m a newbie and I might be able to do these. My favorite is the forest with the snow. Love it and thank you for doing these. I would love to see more tiny paintings
Thank you! Glad you like them!
I've just moved to the forest from the desert, and I will decorate my room with some miniatures of these. I think they are lovely. Thank you
Lovely, I hope you enjoy painting them - I'd love to live in the forest!
Lovely cards ..Thankyou
These miniature arboreal masterpieces are a delight! 🌲
I'm acutely aware that painting, talking us through what you're doing live, _and_ making sure your hands are at the right angle for us to see is quite the juggling act for you to accomplish. 😵💫🤯
Thanks so much for sharing your skills and tips with us so generously, Lou. 🤍
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you liked them!
I love all of these, but funnily enough my favourite was the one you thought too busy!! Would love to see these ideas in larger format tutorials! 🥰
Thanks! So glad you liked them!
I’m with you. I liked the one she thought was busy the best.
Same! My favourite
Ya ,mine too!❤
Also my favorite!! Thank you so much for this idea!❤
I really love the misty trees! And the minimalist one with the birds. That green paper really sets off these paintings. Love Love Love!
Love the little Christmas card paintings….
Thanks :)
Thanks for sharing this very interesting video. Great ideas for Christmas cards 👌😁🌞🌈
You’re welcome 😊
I really like that you explain what and why you're using certain shades and why you are doing it that way. you;re ery good and explaining (for a novice like me anyway) A.G.
Thank you!
Nice experiment, very satisfying to watch 🧚
Hi, thanks for neat ideas!
Glad you like them!
Thank you for these lovely little scenes. This video provided me with some wonderful techniques and some grea
You are so welcome!
Those are so cute! I would love to see more mini paintings. I'm a beginner and simple pictures would be nice for some. Thank you
Subscribed and checking out the rest of your channel. Love the mini cards, would love to see more quick and easy cards! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! So glad you like it!
Very nice; fun! The 'busy' one is my favorite. Oh, and the simplest or starkest scene is right up there too 😍
I could listen to you talk all day long!
메리 크리스마스~!! 따라하기도 좋고, 너무 예쁘네요.
Just found your channel and I enjoyed this very much! Thanks! 😃
Welcome!
I also like the one with the trees and bare branches.
Thank you so much for these great ideas… much appreciated! I love all your tutorials, they are brilliant!
Oh my goodness - I really like your "experiments"! they are perfect for this time of year and for any day I just want to paint something lovely! thank you!
Beautiful! I love these ideas. Can't wait to try them.
I like seeing you paint. 👍
So much fun, going to give it a go tomorrow. Thank you so much. Love the playfulness and was really relaxing. 💚
These turned out beautifully! I like all of them very much but my favourite is the sparse winter tree one. Love the touches of gold in the larger trees as well. 😊🌲🌲🌲
Yet another awesome tutorial. Haven't painted for months now, hopefully in the new year!! Thank you Paul! 👍😘
My favorite is the “too busy one”. New subscriber. I paint with acrylics. I’ve always thought watercolor would be too hard. Looking forward to overcoming my fear of watercolor painting.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy watercolours, I transitioned from acrylics too - they're very different and that takes a bit of getting used to!
These are lovely ideas, all of them, and I'll probably try at least some of them for my Christmas cards. Thanks!
My favorite is the one with the snow. They’re all very cute. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! Glad you liked it
Great video! I love your techniques.
Looks gorgeous, Lou! Enjoyed watching it. The colour you used is my favourite! :')
Thank you, it’s a lovely colour
They turned out very nice. Thanks for the video. I've been making some of my own cards lately, so this is just the sort of thing I'm interested in.
PS: love the sparseness of the hill and trees - my favourite!!
Thank you for this demonstration. It was lovely to hear you share your thoughts on the pieces! I'm new to watercolor so really appreciate all that you shared. 💗🙏💗🙏
You’re welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Fave: Snowy grove. The way you brought light into the composition makes it a standout. Never mind the one 'blurry' tree, no one will really notice. Runner Up: Leafless trees on hill. So simple - just speaks of winter. Fantastic color! Inspiring - makes me want to give it a go! Merry Christmas!
Very very simple and nice!!
I love❤❤❤
Thank you, I enjoyed watching your experiments today,
Love all these ❤ my favorite is the busy one Thank you 😊

Thank you so much!
I had never painted in watercolors before, but about Thanksgiving time I decided to try to paint my own Christmas cards, following RUclips instructions. Painted 45 cards, using about 5-6 different designs. This was one I painted a few times and it turned out very well. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful!
I enjoyed so much this video! Probably I'm going to try to do some of these cards for Christmas...
I hope you enjoy painting them!

Thank you so much, that's so kind!
😊
I like the top Left the best.
Just SMASHING ❤
Thanks!
Very interesting and helpful ...I subscribed
Thank you so much
These turned out great! I wonder if you had used a gold metallic watercolor rather than the acrylic ink you would have been happier with the outcome?
Maybe ... might need to experiment a bit more!
Question : can you show us how to make “made to measure “ envelopes ?
It's not something I've got much experience in, I usually buy them readymade!
Why did you do green for the sky, I like the paintings but wondering about your colour choice. X
They’re monochrome paintings, so green for everything, and I like that particular green, nothing more to it!
How big are these little squares
around 10cm if I remember rightly!
Very Narnia, some
So nice what is the gold stuff called
Thanks - the gold is FW acrylic ink. There’s a link in the description!
What kind of paper did you use?
It’s Arches cold pressed paper
