Drawing Basics: Absolutely the Best way to Draw Brilliantly without Outlines - PART 1

  • Look at this, no outlines. Learn how to create edges with graphite and pencil and take your drawing to the next level. Learning these simple basic techniques in a step by step approach will improve your drawing. The art tutorial explains how to draw using edges rather than outlines for a more effective drawing. The video is aimed at beginners and those wishing to extend their drawing skills. I draw with a block of graphite, but you could do the same with chalk, charcoal or pastel. Taking a piece of graphite between fingers and thumb I exert more pressure on one side rather than pressing equally. This is how the edge is created. There are a couple of exercises to cover and practice in this drawing basics tutorial and in the next video I shall take the idea further.

    It seems that using this technic always give the illusion that the object is always in the corner (maybe it’s just me)
    What if I don’t want to have any walls around it?
    Thanx for the lesson by the way

    • @PaulPriestleyart
      @PaulPriestleyart  5 лет назад +2

      This is a demonstration of a technique of which the block is an example. The idea is to apply the technique to any object you might wish to make more the dimensional. Cheers Paul
