    Ahh the sphere. I wish they had explained it like this back in uni. The extent of our instruction was just "ok, kids, draw this" with no explanation of the various parts. Maybe it was just be being slow, but it took me far too many years to figure out *why* this mattered and how to apply it to anything that wasn't a sphere (or cube, or cone). I like how you summarize the concepts again at the very end of the lesson.

    Thank you for bringing up the Lambert Scale, don't hear about that often. Personally when I have "drawing block" I like to draw eggs from multiple angles with the occasional sphere. Good job Stephen.

    Thats what I did too!! I wanted to teach my friend how to draw portraits and the first exercise before anything was to demonstrate how form works!! And sphere fit perfectly lol.

    I conceptually understand shading a how light behaves, especially in my work in photography. It's applying that concept knowledge on a physical page that is tripping me up. My execution is not at the level I would like. I'm gonna do a bunch of these egg studies until I get it to a standard that satisfies me

    I'm losing hope in my art journey problem is I feel like I'm not improving instead looping around and around, I think its because when I draw a portrait it doesn't look accurate to the person so, how do I draw it accurately?

    • @YoutubeArtProject
      @YoutubeArtProject 8 месяцев назад +1

      Same page. But I'm not losing hope, I'm learning how to make hope. Instead of being overwhelmed why not try to understand your weaknesses? Improve to those. And maybe, you need to learn more and absorbed what you learn then put it in paper. Sometimes you need to make your own strategy, it's your own, that's how creative mind develop. Developing your own unique way of solving things.

    Alltid en fryd å se videoene dine. Jeg pleide å undervurdere sfæren, men i det siste er det gått opp for meg hvor viktig den er. Kunne du lage noen fler videoer av hvordan belysning av sfæren er direkte overførbart til portretter / figur / draperi ? Det hadde vært utrolig nyttig. Det er en ære for oss nordmenn å ha deg her : )
