I have been a member of The Virtual Instructor for about six months and it is the best art achool I have ever attended - and I have attended several. I warmly recommend Matt's Art Academy.
So question what skill level were you at when you began and at what skill level do you feel like you are now I’m asking because I am seriously a beginner and I’m wondering if this might possibly be too advanced for me😊
Thank you very much! I'm a self-taught " " artist. Being an aircraft mechanic has taught me attention to detail, and I've always been super critical in all my work. These exercises will definitely help me out.
Impressive stuff. The key word, of course, is practice. Since I'm an absolute beginner the level of skill shown here is far beyond me but it's useful guidance for what most of us would like to attain.
I love you're work so much You have great talent, man❤❤ انا احب ماتقوم به لديك موهبة عظيمة ياصديقي حقاً انت تثير اعجابي بما تقوم به ❤ تحياتي لك من السعودية 🇸🇦❤️❤️❤️
Dear Matt, the minute you mentioned some people don't know HOW TO PRACTICE you just caught me. I didn't realize why I would find myself stucked whyle practicing. Overthinking is one of my challenges. Thank you so much for this reminder along with these great exercises in a nutshell. The membership program is amazing and worth subscribing. Buddy
Really great tips. Some of which I knew from the book Drawing from the right side of the brain. But once i did the lesson in the book, i stopped doing them. Made me realize that going back and redoing exercises and stuff is really important.
These are excellent ways of breaking free of ordinary, every day cognition or perception. The upside down thing felt like walking on another planet! Breaking down gradations of value to two, three, then all was an eye opener too. Great tutorial.
Thanks so much for this video. I truly appreciate for all the tutorials you provide to help us. These exercises are wonderful and definitely worth to try. I wish you all the best for 2024 and more. Blessings and take care.
ive learnt a great deal from Matt after doing the secrets to drawing i improved then i did his pen and ink, learnt a lot i think i have to do ink washes left but ill get back to it. ive just started his coloured pencil course. i didnt want to work with colour but doing the colour module i enjoyed doing it. he is such an amazing artist and we can learn a lot with him x
Just fantastic. My paintings are being limited by my drawings so I am adding these to my daily practice. Would love more about how you do the skeletal framework for the gesture drawings as my drawing classes just let us scribble madly through that drill. Your way seems to work much better. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I'm really looking forward to trying these. Right now I'm finding drawing lions is doing much to improve my drawing skills. All those markings and textures!
Thank you. Think this will help. Do u recommend that method of drawing faces from a box? It seems so time consuming, but I’m struggling with things out of proportion in a way I didn’t when I was younger. Wish I never put the pencil down!
Really informative. I’ll try & practice some methods that you advise. I enjoy watching you draw & sketch, would like to draw like you do. Very clever! Thanks
Thanks Great tips I remember how I draw realistic in the past. I always draw in my style now maybe I can start practice again with this with watercolor that I like the most of all medium
Great video. A good idea would be to pick your favorite 6 tips, list them in the back cover of your sketchbook, and throw a dice to choose the exercise to do at the moment. Of course you can get one the fancy 10-sided dice if you can’t narrow down the list. Anyway, I appreciate the lesson. Thank you very much!
Thanks for sharing your drawing skills. I enjoyed this because as I’m learning to use color pencils, your skills helps me to use them from all angles. I now understand the use of improving my skills.❤
Can you do this, but for making digital art? There is a lot of terminology, and concepts that can be frustrating (to put it lightly) to grasp as a beginner who's just recently getting into art. Apologies if this sounded rude. Like cooking or driving, I do better when there's a guideline to help.

No, I'll stay with Silvie Mahdal. She's ranked #1
Silvia seems to be only focused on people. I like how he includes more like still life, animals etc.

The best advices I received in such short period of time. Thank you.

Thanks for this sir. It really helps a lot. At first, I thought drawing boxes is the most essential.
Had my highschool art teachers explained the fundamentals of drawing as well as you just did I'd be farther along as an artist.
It 's a value lesson. Thank you for teaching us this lesson.

Thank you for explaining HOW to practice. Now I have a use for the black paper I purchased a year ago! 🤣
Touché. Although my purchase was a few years ago. LoL.

This man draws hands with continuous lines and I can't even draw them with references and 3 art teachers beside me. Great work, sir!
