I have been a member of The Virtual Instructor for about six months and it is the best art achool I have ever attended - and I have attended several. I warmly recommend Matt's Art Academy.
No, I'll stay with Silvie Mahdal. She's ranked #1
Silvia seems to be only focused on people. I like how he includes more like still life, animals etc.
Dear Matt, the minute you mentioned some people don't know HOW TO PRACTICE you just caught me. I didn't realize why I would find myself stucked whyle practicing. Overthinking is one of my challenges. Thank you so much for this reminder along with these great exercises in a nutshell. The membership program is amazing and worth subscribing. Buddy
The kindest artist I ever knew ❤
Really great tips.
Some of which I knew from the book Drawing from the right side of the brain. But once i did the lesson in the book, i stopped doing them.
Made me realize that going back and redoing exercises and stuff is really important.
G U A R A N T E E D !
I'd like to see the T&C's on that
Fantastic video Matt! Thanks for the exercises!
Absolutely fascinating! ❤
Thank you for imparting knowledge. We call people like you “Guru” in India 🙏🏻
These are excellent ways of breaking free of ordinary, every day cognition or perception. The upside down thing felt like walking on another planet! Breaking down gradations of value to two, three, then all was an eye opener too. Great tutorial.
Absolutely fantastic
Thanks Matt. Very informative as usual and a very timely reminder. Take care.
Outstanding.
Gracias a ti maestro, por compartir tu sabiduría!!!
I am so far from these skills but appreciate the tutorial. For now, the first exercise is where I'll stay. lol Blessings to you and your students.
What's so complicated or advanced about cross contour lines? Just choose a simple object and practice. Upside down drawing isn't advanced either, it's just about drawing shapes, negative and positive. If you want to understand values just take a photo on a digital camera of a scene or still life you'd love to use as a reference, and then turn down the colour saturation.
Thanks for the kind advice.@@JGalegria

Amazing, organized, and to the point! Learned the value of value!! 😁
Really informative. I’ll try & practice some methods that you advise. I enjoy watching you draw & sketch, would like to draw like you do. Very clever! Thanks
Thank you…. and I thought I needed talent…. 🤗
Thank you. Think this will help. Do u recommend that method of drawing faces from a box? It seems so time consuming, but I’m struggling with things out of proportion in a way I didn’t when I was younger. Wish I never put the pencil down!
Thanks for sharing your drawing skills. I enjoyed this because as I’m learning to use color pencils, your skills helps me to use them from all angles. I now understand the use of improving my skills.❤
Thank you for explaining HOW to practice. Now I have a use for the black paper I purchased a year ago! 🤣
Touché. Although my purchase was a few years ago. LoL.
Very useful tips.
You are terrific! Keep up your good work 🎉
Thank you so very much. This video was super informative. You're a great instructor. I look forward to watching and learning more from your videos.
Very helpful lesson for anyone interested in drawing. Thanks
These are really good exercises for intermediates!
Excellent video
Good 1 👌
Excellent -thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Impressive stuff. The key word, of course, is practice. Since I'm an absolute beginner the level of skill shown here is far beyond me but it's useful guidance for what most of us would like to attain.
Great video. A good idea would be to pick your favorite 6 tips, list them in the back cover of your sketchbook, and throw a dice to choose the exercise to do at the moment. Of course you can get one the fancy 10-sided dice if you can’t narrow down the list. Anyway, I appreciate the lesson. Thank you very much!
This was GREAT! Subbed.
Very helpful
Salamat po

I can learn well drawing lessons from you than others.😌😌😌❤️❤️❤️ Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Concise and useful. Thanks. Moving background on some sections made it difficult to attend to the lesson.
Thanks, as I am new to drawing😊
You're very welcome!
I like this film but I get 😢 from the constantly moving background. Love your lessons though.
Thanks for great content. I have received your newsletters for some time . I have liked and subscribed. Hoping to get more drawing in this season.

These drawing lessons are taught in any introductory drawing course or art and design certificate. He didn't come up with these approaches.
im a beginner...where will i start and what tools should i use??? i am a fan of blacks and white
Hey teacher.. have you ever did any drawing on brown paper? I have a partial roll of brown paper
Loved the presentation but found the moving crinkle background in some of the modules very distracting. Thanks for sharing these practical tips.
Can you tell me what kind of pencil (brand and lead size) of the blue mechanical pencil at 3:30 (exercise #3)? Thank you! Great exercises!
Thanks Matt, long time no see! :D
Thanks for the class! How is Ashley?
He's doing well. Thanks for asking.
Can you do this, but for making digital art? There is a lot of terminology, and concepts that can be frustrating (to put it lightly) to grasp as a beginner who's just recently getting into art. Apologies if this sounded rude. Like cooking or driving, I do better when there's a guideline to help.
Can you not do all of these on digital?
How about doing the timed drawingexercise backwards. First the 30 minute drawing, then the 5 minute and last the one minute drawing. I could think this would help getting faster.
I have issue with timed and gesture drawings. The only thing they did for me is making me stressed to the point that I almost quit drawing.
Other than that, great tips.
👍👍👍
