Great video, so much fun to watch and really educational. Keep up the great quality. You really should create a whole course around russian academic drawing. The world needs it
Thank you so much for being kind and supportive)) online course is such an amazing idea
correct
What an amazing good instructional video , so well explained ! I was lucky to have a teacher who learned me to draw portraits and model from life this way , seeing your video throw me back in time , I still love this classical approach , it needs indeed a lot of practice , perseverance and concentration , we were not allowed to speak during the lessons and there always played Bach music in the background . Watching this video wished me to grab my sketchbook and tools again , I only miss good models or good photos . Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge .
Thank you so much for all this kind words❤️
Thank you so much! I'm studying Russian academic drawing but have no chance to attend. You should create an online course. You are talented and beautiful ;-). You would be a great success.
Thank you for kind words❤
This is incredibly helpful, thank you. ✌️
In life there are no lines, Where form turns away from the eye we draw a line, but it is not a line in life. This is why photography can never supplant hand rendered images. What the left eye sees the right eye sees at a different angle. August Rodin was very short sighted, he could not see the silhouettes on both sides of his sculptures at the same time. His mastery of form created a continuity of aesthetics between two disparate silhouettes. Therefore the mastery of form between the disparity of what either eye sees, allows for greater aesthetic expression of character, than the single angle that the camera sees.
What wise and right words! The human eye is truly an amazing creation that has no analogues
Ура, русская художница, записывающая видео на английском! Keep up the great work! Спасибо за познавательное видео😊

It was just what I needed to understand...
I studied art and design in an academy in germany.. but they never teached us this stuff..
Your video is amazing.
Thank you for helping us on our jpurney❤

From Bharat (India) 👍❤️🙏 one video a lot of information thanks 🙏
Thank you)
HI Lokteva! Great lesson.
I just have to say this that I always had huge admiration for the Russian Method of Drawings and Paintings. No doubts its the best in the world (in my humble opinion) But lately I have been trying to mimic those approach myself. Sure it all begins from understanding of underlying structure and anatomy and following a certain pathway as everyone talks about , But i could rarely find any artist from Russian Academics on You tube actually demonstrating their ways of doing art.
So I am finally glad to find your channel and I am looking forward to learn a lot from u.
(Btw the closest i have been to understanding the Russian academic approach was that 2 hour live model demo of Iliya Mirochnik on New Master Academy Channel. Watched that same demo bazillion of times. LOL)
Great video. In future would love to hear the teaching philosophy and advice of the teachers at the academy on figure painting compositions ... how to unify the colours and how to paint shapes and relationships and not 'things' ... etc :)
I just like to say how much I adore the russian knowledge and culture
Me as a german was never aducated in your tresors..
Now I start to discover in youtube ❤

Hi, I have a quick question.
In a point of the video (6:42) you recommend a book by an author. I can't seem to understand what you said. Would you be able to tell me in written note here? Thanks a lot for your amazing work.
Hi) thank you! Oh Its book by Gottfried Bammes - anatomy for artists
It would be great if you create a video about Russian sauce! and what medium is close to it in other part of the world! Love your videos
Excellent your works madam
Thanks❤
Please create an online class! 🤩🤩
What an amazing video!!! That was so instructional, and thank you so much for taking the time to make it for us, its going to be very useful:)) i wanted to ask the name of the book you recommend to your students. Thank you so much✨
Thank you))))) it’s book by Gottfried Bammes - Anatomy for Artists
@@ksyelf5820 ohh thank you for the answer :) I will check it out!
Thank you so much for this it was so helpful!!
Are there any books you recommend that have a collection of just Russian painters? In the UK we have books with many painters for one art movement and it makes it easier to find artists you like so you can later buy books that have the master works of your favorite artist. I am struggling to find many books on Russian painters here, especially those that came from the Repin school 😩
@@neatoburritos Thank you)) Oh, I prefer to take a whole book dedicated to a specific artist, there are very good editions from the Tretyakov Gallery, I think they should be somewhere on the Internet
Thanks a lot

Thank you! Oh I’ll try)
Hi Ksenia, thanks for your updates..
very interesting, in another video you prepared the canvas and paper by spreading it with dark glue or gelatin, is it of animal origin? like the one for the primer? Thank you.
I prepare I like tonal paper with coffee.. I like kraft paper and paper "spolvero"...
I'm also preparing something, I opened a channel yt🙏
charcoal and sanguine lovely.
I hug you good art🎨🌷🤗
Hey)) thank you))) oh unfortunately I don't quite understand what specific video you're talking about, but in general I've only used gelatin for gluing, so it's most likely it
I’m not sure which drawing of the head method I like better than Andrew Loomis one or like the box method I find it to be easier to draw with the box because you always get the perspective right much more easier for angles compared to the Loomis method
Very interesting, professional. Russian art schools inspire with their high standards. Do you know how one could order the white gips figures & co used for studies?
Awesome video!! I'm gonna watch your video's all day now :)
A question, whats the book you have in the first 2 seconds of the video?
Thank you)) This book is a collection of drawings by students of the academy
@@ksyelf5820 thank you so much! Do you have a specific name for this book or is it possible to order it somewhere? Been looking at your videos all day and would love it for more russian study inspiration
@@robo07200 Aww thanks)) Its called “Учебный рисунок» by Mogilevtsev and printed by the academy, as far as I know they also has it in Eng and Chinese, maybe it can be found somewhere on the academy’s website or just in the internet
Thank u,Ksy!)Tell me, please, where do u buy your art-materials & what r the names of the pencils that u use for academic drawing?
Simply brilliant. Thank you.
Thank you)!
Hello Ksy Elf, I am a new subscriber I wanted to know Where do I buy your skull statue? 😍❣✨
Heey) oh its from russian marketplace but I also saw them in art shops
Great video! What is the pricing for your online classes?
Is there any chance that you or any of your friends organise online activities like gesture drawing or speed paintings? I have a friend who gathers a gang to speedsculpt together every Friday and I'd like to find something familiar but in 2d environment.
BTW good video, I wonder you didn't mention Asaro head or Houdon plane head or I just haven't noticed
Thank you! Oh I don’t really know, maybe someday)
@@ksyelf5820, we have here in Moscow few offline schools that practice gesture drawing, but for some unknown reason they use soft light 😵💫. And it's hopeless to convince them that hard one helps a lot to design the shadows. Also turns out that gathering skilled draftsmen in Moscow is harder
I have such a hard time with shading ears, especially using reference photos. They are never in focus.
does the reference pack include the actual models? or is it just drawing
No, its album of drawings
Köszönöm a filmet .
Nagyszerű volt látni ahogy dolgozol. Kellemes modorban tanítasz . Jól látom , hogy a papír , keretre van feszítve ?
thanks for the kind words)) paper stretched on a wooden board
