    Dude, I saw that same tutorial, had the same realization that it wasn't working for me, tried to combine the "sheet of paper" method with a ball, realized it was still not good and then...gave up and went back to using the papersheet method but using the nose as a starting point instead, before realizing I shouldn't be following tutorials so religiously and trying to rely more on my intuition instead.
    Sometimes it worked, most times it didn't, but I got better and better, now I'm gonna try this method because it just makes so much sense lol
    The frustration taught me an important lesson tho, drawing SHOULDN'T be frustrating, I eventually felt like not drawing anymore because I was so foccused on improving I didn't allow myself to just have fun with it, and my art suffered as a result.
    Also seeing someone else struggling and facing some of the same problems reminds me it's a natural part of the process, art isn't easy, but it shouldn't be harmful either.

    Hear me out the other methods aren't wrong or simple or difficult but this tutorial is great more perspectives to look at drawing from is always a yes!

      oh I wasn't dismissing other methods, but I made this video because I kept wondering why they weren't working for me. If I had this problem, others did too!

    Interesting how that initial curve isn’t really the shape of the final jaw but almost like the roundness of the top of the chin very cool!

    • @Javicandraw
      @Javicandraw  2 месяца назад +1

      Exactly! Since the jawline is not paralel to the eyeline it is hard to go straight for the jaw. but if you get the overall direction of the chin and go from there, hoy can figure out the jaw later.

    These are great tips. i'm a beginner, and I can do decent with most angles of the head, but always upwards facing angles I struggle. I will try this tonight for sure. Saved to my drawing tutorials playlist. And subscribed because you have a great personality.

    Thank you so much for your tutorials!!!
    Can you maybe lower the music volume so that it doesn't compete with your voice?
    Many of us artists are the "highly sensitive" type, and it's hard to filter out the excess noise, and focus on what's being said.
    Otherwise, perfect teaching!!

    • @Javicandraw
      @Javicandraw  Месяц назад

      Hi!!! Thank you for your comment. I will take it into consideration. Right now I'm equalizing the thing at 30 db below the regular volume, so thats pretty low. That makes me think that there's something about the way I'm equalizing the voice that makes it hard to understand. I will focus more on that, and I'll lower the volume even more. You'll see the changes in next week's video.
