What's the best JoJo's Bizarre Adventure game? Do you think we'll see an Eyes of Heaven remaster like All Star Battle R?
Until ASBR gets rollback, I'll still give it to Heritage for the Future. I think the only reason we got a remaster of ASB was because it was a good game with a horrid launch, but EOH was launched fine and was well received so I wouldn't expect an Eyes of Heaven R any time soon. If you are taking any suggestions, I recommend playing every Devil May Cry game, it's a great series with a lot of heart and the defined the genre it fits in.
If there's enough demand for it, sure. Bandai Namco would ask Cyber Connect 2 to port it, just like they did with All Star Battle R.
Cyber Connect 2 seems to have a really good understanding of the game engines that they use, since they can port almost all their recent game to all recent platforms, especially the Nintendo Switch which is an amazing feat in itself.

Fun fact: in Hftf Dio and Vanilla Ice can't fight on daytime stages either, only evening, nighttime or indoors stages. Noticed it when I was setting up a custom battle and most arenas were unavailable for some reason
Now I get why they did it you know they’re vampires and all but I feel it’s pretty pointless to do that and I feel like they should have just let them be playable on all stages

Crazy how I used to see JoJo's stuff when I was a kid in the 90's and never thought much of it. All these years later after getting into it blows my mind such an awesome series has been around all this time.
This is actually exactly how I feel! I remember seeing the name float around and never expected it to be something so influential and awesome.
I totally recommend JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The 7th Stand User though for real, created using RPGMaker, you play the 7th JoBro on the quest to defeat DIO in 1987. It's got a lot of fanservice and alternate endings and OC Stands you unlock at character creation with a questionnaire. Pretty cool. And it was created by a Japanese housewife who just really loves JoJo.
If you do download it don't forget the text patch that fixes the in-game text. Do not forget the text patch.

Funfact, the re-release of the arcade game, Heritage for the Future actually takes its name from the original part 3 name. It wasn't until part 6 when the part's names would remain unchanged. The original part names were,
Johnathan Joestar: His Youth,
Joseph Joestar: His Proud Lineage,
Jotaro Kujo: Heritage for the Future,
Josuke Higaahikata,
Giorno Giovanna: Golden Heritage,
Jolyne Kujo: Stone Ocean.
Part 7 was the point where the series would stop changing part names in any form.
I love how for part 4 it's just "Josuke Higashikata"
@sleeper6548 admittedly, I don't remember if that was the actual name of part 4 or if I just forgot to write the whole thing. Information on the original names is annoyingly scarce.
So that's why in Japanese the name for youngseph is "proud lineage Joseph"
You're the only content creator I know that values and greatly appreciates gallery modes just as much as (or even more for that Part 1 game) the rest of the game 😭 PLEASE NEVER STOP!
The PS1 version also has fights for characters that aren't even combat stands. For example, lovers and the sun have really cool fights
I wish Capcom would rerelease the PS1 game with HD sprites like they did with Super Streetfighter 2
I loved the voice comparison in the all star battle r segment! The rerecorded lines sound so good. That new WRYYYYY is badass.

Small note, in JoJo Eyes of Heaven you lose only if you as the player lose, if your ally gets knocked out, you get the soul inheritance and become and absolute beast, instantly refreashing all abilities.
In the story mode? Ik for a fact that’s how it works in free battle but as I can’t play story mode and haven’t in a while
ASB is the best but the EoH ending with the hospital cutscene had me b a w l i n g
For ASB's dramatic finish, you have to beat the opponent while facing a certain direction. (Dios balcony, the water tower from pt. 3, boing-boing rock, the exit of the coliseum, for example)

I would love a Jojo Action RPG, sort of similar to Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. That game was pretty solid (and made by the same people as All Star Battle/Eyes of Heaven) and I think it'd be cool for Jojo to get the same treatment. They might have to split the game up though considering how long Jojo has been running.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the biggest difference that jump to the eyes, talking about JoJo's Venture for Dreamcast and Playstation: Playstation's stands were all monochromatic.
Only the Dreamcast version had the colors, like the arcade (plus some animations).
Also, pressing start made you chose an alternative color for the characters. Something more grounded, like Polnareff with blonde hair and the school suits were black.
Imagine if they had kept Capcom in charge and they made a game like golden wind for every part

I imported the PS2 version when it came out, back when you had to wait weeks for delivery from Play-Asia
I pray that Eyes of Heaven gets the R treatment just like All-Star Battle. It was what got me into the series. Eyes of Heaven was supposed to have 3 campaigns and 140 playable characters, but they scaled it way back so they could get the game out the door in time for the Diamond is Unbreakable anime. While I highly doubt we'll get all of that in a hypothetical remaster, just seeing a bunch of new characters make it in would be enough to satisfy me.
(And maybe giving the Western version of the game Stroheim's jacket and hat.)

I'm fairly certain the Super Famicom game was meant to be a tie-in to the OVA as that came out the same year, and Polnareff has blonde hair instead of white hair. At the same time though, Joseph has his standard white hair, instead of being blonde, like the OVA, and Avdol's color scheme is completely inaccurate to both the manga and the OVA, though it was reused for the Capcom arcade game for some reason.

As much as I love asbr, I don't understand how for the Xbox one/X version they had to remove alot of stage background detail, like how can a PS3 game look amazing and then get downgraded on the next gen console
Now as for you talk about All Star Battle/ASBR, I can talk about these dramatic finishes.
Essentially, when you move around the stage with going up or down, you can angle the battle. This alters the map so you can get the dramatic finishes by pulling off either a Heat or Great heat attack when they have low health.
This only works when there’s only when someone is winning (like if you or someone have won the last round) or if it’s a final round deal. As for what happens, it’ll depend on the characters like take for instance the stage where Vanilla ice fought Pol Pol and Iggy (not as much with Avdol).
If you pull off a great heat attack while facing the hole, the character will be sent flying out. And if it’s a vampire character like the ones in game, they’ll be burnt to a crisp.
It makes some of the special heats fun to use like BtD as doing so will make you rewind 10 seconds in a timed fight, regain health and if done correctly with the placement of the arena, you can get a dramatic finish.
Arcade mode is essentially fun to do it as if done correctly, you can around 2,700-3,000 points to earn an S rank.
It's been a long road since those first few "played every" videos. I'm glad I found your content.

For the dynamic finishes for All-Star Battle you have to do a HHA or a GHA facing a specific way on any stage. At least in All-Star Battle R
The HfTf version also had a Vanilla ice-centric intro.

your partner dying doesn't give you a game over in Eyes Of Heaven, except in specific missions
King of Fighters 97 had sheet music for the Hero Team's theme song as well, it appeared in the OST album which contained two CD's.

There's some really interesting JoJo games, hope the Capcom games get another re-release one day. But I kinda doubt it considering Bandai Namco doesn't seem to wanna let go of any of their Shonen Jump licenses.
I'll be super happy when you cover 7th Stand User, its sucj a fun experience and while the old school RPG is limiting, they do everything they can with it and I'd never trade it for something less personalized with more graphics/polish.

I was literally just watching the first video when this one came out. That's kinda amazing.
Hey there, Diamond Recrods veteran here. God it's been so long since I last played the game (It was on my very first ever smart phone and it crashed almost around every corner)
But from what I can remember when it first started we only had like... three or four 5-stars (they weren't called UR's unlike Stardust Shooters, which you forgot about in the video. It's basically an air hockey game with recolored and edited manga panels and an occasional ASB/EOH model animation cutscene)
But back to Diamond Records, it was a free roam beatemup for the most part with stages all across parts 1 to 4 because it came out in 2016 when part 4's anime was out. You went through different waves as you beat people up, it wasn't unlike KOF All Stars for reference except it wasn't as 'go right, go left, up and down are mostly for maneuvering' because you could actually navigate and run away and hide in the stage if your character was underleveled (or the event was bullshit and needed the most current unit only to be able to beat it)
You needed skill ontop of levels and stuff, because perfectly timed dodges Souls style mattered alot in times of need (just watch Corinah's ocean man videos where you played most boss raids and rushes with just a 3 star part 4 Jotaro) so you could infact beat even the strongest of bosses with the shittiest of units but you'd need prior planning and it could take a WHILE as long as you were consistent with dodging and retaliating at the perfect time. The OST was nice, the models were really good, the voicelines were ripped straight from the Anime, the animations ranged from nice to amazing at times especially with newer characters.
The rates were... okay, it was your usual gacha experience. But the modes were mostly 'story mode' where you go through an abridged version of the story, events (as per gacha game usual) and Town which is basically where you go to meet your friends with their best units they have and they press the character to taunt or pose and just add props to your town like a giant road roller or a kakyoin doll.
At some point before part 5's anime release, they decided to rebrand the game into Diamond Records Reversal (or Diamond Records R, and at one point Diamond Records 2) and its why alot of us were scared when we saw the ASB rerelease be called ASB-*R*. It changed the game from a 3D beatemup to a turn-based RPG where everyone is plastered in place, you can't explore the map or anything, the lazy enemies with unbeatable stats can't be dodged and you can't be smart because death is inevitable unless you had the most recent meta character or an exploitable strategy. It drove over half of the players away and so they decided to split the game in two. Adventure/Action mode (3D like before, but with less effort and like 1 or 2 stages every 3 months) and RPG Mode (I don't actually remember what it was called but) which was the turn based meta bullshit. The game couldn't survive long after, and Bandai doesn't like keeping their games up for long anyways just like the Tokyo Ghoul games that got axed for the sake of the shitty game they released later with the same assets.
DR's community was very dedicated, we had 3 discord servers (one of which was for info and translations but) and we had youtubers cover the game many times, constant translations and pings for new shit which gave us some insight on what's to come like an early look on the figurine for part 4 jotaro. How did we get that info? They released a free to play 5-star part 4 jotaro unit in the game. But yeah, people were quick to rip out the assets like the voicelines and music and models and put them online to preserve it. I have the music uploaded to my profile up to the first few part 5 events but I'm missing either just Diavolo's theme which had trumpets, or Diavolo's and Risottos'.
Anyways, there's a Revival project trying to recreate the game from scratch (with new characters like shirtless Jonathan post zepelli death) with the already existing assets we ripped. The progress is slow but steady.
Oh and I never played PitterPatterPop but it was a cute game with a chibi artstyle, gameplay isn't my thing since it's like connecting blocks and shit but you can put units you had in a small house and watch them interact like fugo dancing or abbacchio drinking tea. It had zero voice acting until they decided to release voice-acted units as standalone shit for more money, and they usually only had one or two lines so nothing that impressive.

If your teammate dies then you get a SS too and if you play as let´s say, DIO part 3, it makes your R1 attack aka the time stop fill faster then normally and if you lose the hp from SS and play long enough in the match you can activate it again.
I can't believe I found a video that shows Alessy mode. I have played only arcade and psx versions of hftf, so it was interesting to watch. Also I agree with things you've said about 2010s rerelease, graphic filters were not so good, thankfully they are were optional
I bought All-Stars R on your recommendation, and I’m shocked you never mentioned how there’s no “restart fight” option mid-battle in the “all-star battle” mode. Really frustrating when you’re trying to figure out the secret missions. Honestly just end up paying for them cause it’s too much of a hassle. I hope I don’t have to grind too much gold to fill the gallery.

Crash is normal,
Crush is when the crush-ee blocks while being crashed, and they get stunned for longer
Honestly a game where you can create an oc with a stand and have to fight other stand users and when you beat them you get their stand disc would be really cool

After watching this video I wonder. Would a JoJo’s Souls-like game be any fun. Because I can see it working in some way. I mean in Souls games you explore one area, beat a boss or a couple of bosses, and then move on to the next, so a JoJo’s game could work with that style because that’s essentially how JoJo’s is structured. Not just that, but they could have it where you can switch to play as the Bros and because there are different Stand types that function differently than each of that type it could be like the different weapon types and the different way each weapon functions. They could make it either like Heritage for the Future but on a larger scale with every current part, or they could pull some Eyes of Heaven stuff with the story.
I think a DMC type combat would easily be better. It fits the crazy powers a lot more and allows for a faster pace
@@gabrielreyes9096 I was more so saying with stuff like exploration. But that would be fun, having DMC type combat. Though it would still be cool if they let you play as the JoBros and stuff with some of them having the same type of Stand, but maybe having like different combos or something to have the kinda DMC style combat with combos and stuff.
But in the end, I don’t think that’s the route to go really as JoJo’s fights are more outsmarting your opponent to then punch them, rather than just punching them. So I still feel like Dark Souls combat could work better potentially because Dark Souls is basically outsmarting the bosses and dodging their attacks to then perform your own close or long range attack, like JoJo’s.
@@Zorro7269 yes, though DMC requires quite a bit of focus and it enforces you to make flashy moves. And it isn’t just mindlessly punching enemies, you still have to dodge, as there isn’t a usual means of healing. DMC is a lot more than just beating up enemies. Everything is just at a much faster pace so it just appears that way. Plus sounls likes are well worn territory at this rate. Way too many games trying to be a souls like. Not a bad idea, it’s just that it would be a bit of a drag to get another souls like game for the 1000th time.
@@gabrielreyes9096 You say that, yet there are tons of games that try to be DMC, some succeeding, some being shit. Not saying you’re wrong necessarily, I’m just saying that it’s kinda funny. I think a combination between the 2 would probably work the best.
@@Zorro7269 I’d agree, a lot of games are trying to be DMC but Souls-Likes are much more popular as of currently, but I do agree on the open world part of it. But DMC’s combat definitely fits making the stronger abilities feel a lot beefier.
Kind of off topic, but with that Eyes of Heaven footage in the background, that guy playing Giorno kind of sucks at using the Requiem move. You’ve gotta run away to make some distance. You get knocked out of the Requiem charge if you get hit at all.

Eyes of heaven is my favortie jojo story. I like how at the end, jotaro rewrites reality and he corrects every wrong like he saved Kakyoin, Avdol, and Iggy as we can see them in hospital beds.

A whole lot of amazing Japanese releases never saw a western release. Apart from the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind and Phantom Blood for the PS2, there are plenty of graphically impressive and awesome games from anime out there but waiting to be English patched. Space Battleship Yamato, Escaflowne, Inuyasha, Vampire Hunter D for the PS1. Blood+, Azumi, Busou Renkin, Garouden for the PS2 just to name a few.
I'd love to see Ryo Ga Gotoku studio ( if I get the name wrong the studio who Makes Yakuza/like a dragon series and Fist of the north star lost paradise) to make a JoJo game

I did manage to get diamond records back in high school when it first came out. Played the hell out of it and even though it was a fat ha game the combat was extremely fun and fluid especially for a mobile game. I wish they kept up support for it because it was honestly a quality mobile game

also an extra bit of trivia back around i think 2004ish dont quote me, there was a promotional shonen jump animation video for part 4 and 5 with voice acting and the va for Okuyasu was the exact same one. basically his va is so good at being Okuyasu that the character never had a different va pre anime, its always been the same exact one.
