      I’ve had a Trident X for 4 years. Managed to shoehorn a 750W psu and a 3080 into it. Performance and thermals are outstanding in a system that’s smaller than a PS5. PWM broke on it within the first 2 weeks, so it’s noisier than an angry Italian mother in law, but I still love it

      I have always kind of avoided MSI and chose brands like Asus (lol). I have a MSI built 3070 and It's pretty well built, also have a MSI monitor (though It's only 1080p) but It's a pretty decent monitor (high refresh rate, lots of options, easy to use nub for the menus) The first MSI items I have ever owned and they're good.

      @Gatorade69 Asus GPU'S have been the best I've ever owned, they're two expensive though.
      MSI haven't been on top form for years, their old MSI Lighting GPU'S were the best you could buy.
      The only 3090 i could get was the MSI Gaming X Trio and its an absolute joke compared to other 3090'S, low boost clock, bad OC, power limited, adjusting the power limit and Voltage makes no difference whatsoever and it also makes an awful racket compared to my Gigabyte 4090 and to make matter worse the temps aren't all that good.

  • @omarfouda1994
    @omarfouda1994 Год назад +445

    • @omarfouda1994
      @omarfouda1994 Год назад +74

      @@HansenLaMoose there's no mistake here, after repasting both temperatures are ok, also all motherboards' BIOS use CPU temp to control fan speed that's standard, having a single blower fan to pull air cooling both components is intresting but not very effective as it won't account for wierd scenarios of high gpu usage and low cpu usage leading gpu to get hot, if it was my system I would definitely use fan control app to control fan based on gpu temp to fix the issue. In the end if it's your system you take care of yourself (repaste, control fans, undervolt, remove bloat, maybe even removing some panels to help)

      you need to go watch a trash can mac tear down. Nothing is impressive besides they figured out how to emulate the trash can apple with even poorer cooling. An AMD Ryzen laptop 7xxx CPU and a low profile RTX 4060 would be ideal for cool temps and excellent performance. Minisforum already makes an ITX motherboard with an AMD Ryzen laptop grade CPU built-in. It provides excellent performance per watt and runs cool.

    Great stuff! I can't believe MSI done it again. So much potential, if only it was a standard micro atx board and normal sff power supply, so you know... We could still use the case today.
    Also, I liked your sponsor spot, but it would be nice if you could of gave some notes on fan noise from at least 1 cooler.

    I can't remember if I never noticed that you didn't have a frametime graph before or if I just thought you preferred it without the graph. In any case, it's very useful as an indicator of consistency and I highly recommend it. Side note: Many games seem to have bad FPS caps, I think...? However, it seems you can use RivaTuner Statistic Server to force a limit that's perfectly smooth.

    Honestly I had to use Gelid Extreme on GPUs to get close to stock temps in the past. The issue I'd usually have with this is it would maintain those temps for about a year before slowly climbing again.
    I'm tempted to try something else eventually.
