GPU got hotter because the fan takes feedback off the cpu temp and cpu temp getting lower doesn't trigger the high speed fan It is not the mistake of the thermal paste application 😁
@@HansenLaMoose there's no mistake here, after repasting both temperatures are ok, also all motherboards' BIOS use CPU temp to control fan speed that's standard, having a single blower fan to pull air cooling both components is intresting but not very effective as it won't account for wierd scenarios of high gpu usage and low cpu usage leading gpu to get hot, if it was my system I would definitely use fan control app to control fan based on gpu temp to fix the issue. In the end if it's your system you take care of yourself (repaste, control fans, undervolt, remove bloat, maybe even removing some panels to help) Always take care of yourself
I wish we could've seen if the GPU was boosting higher as well, usually of course if there's more thermal headroom the GPU also attempts to clock higher which might lead to similar noise levels but also higher performance!
I’ve had a Trident X for 4 years. Managed to shoehorn a 750W psu and a 3080 into it. Performance and thermals are outstanding in a system that’s smaller than a PS5. PWM broke on it within the first 2 weeks, so it’s noisier than an angry Italian mother in law, but I still love it
I have always kind of avoided MSI and chose brands like Asus (lol). I have a MSI built 3070 and It's pretty well built, also have a MSI monitor (though It's only 1080p) but It's a pretty decent monitor (high refresh rate, lots of options, easy to use nub for the menus) The first MSI items I have ever owned and they're good.
@Gatorade69 Asus GPU'S have been the best I've ever owned, they're two expensive though. MSI haven't been on top form for years, their old MSI Lighting GPU'S were the best you could buy. The only 3090 i could get was the MSI Gaming X Trio and its an absolute joke compared to other 3090'S, low boost clock, bad OC, power limited, adjusting the power limit and Voltage makes no difference whatsoever and it also makes an awful racket compared to my Gigabyte 4090 and to make matter worse the temps aren't all that good.

@@MandoMTL You can but there's no interesting or better Xeons for that socket in that era, neither in core count, L4 eDRAM, or multiplier overclockability (like previous V1, V2 and V3). The top of the line is the Xeon E3 1280 v5. Anything else needs a different socket. (LGA 1151). The best CPU is the i7 6700K.
Always thought this case was so neat in spite of the operating temp compromises. I was surprised to see how much can be upgraded here too, you should do a follow up where you add a 7900K and a more recent MXM card!

Semi-upgradeable. The GPU would be nearly impossible to source, and I REALLY would not want to risk a 7th Gen i9 in there given the passive cooling, but you can add RAM and storage fairly easily.
@@JinghisKhan oh mxm cards are easy to find its the compatibility thats an issue just being an mxm or even the correct mxm version doesnt mean it will work. I have a few older alienwares with mxm some for example will not work with any amd cards if it came with intel same with any amd based units and nvidia cards. Now its possible theres a workaround but ive noticed mxm systems often have some limitations on card usage plus the cost. a 10series or higher is often at or more then a current desktop version cost wise ie a 1070 may cost 300+ and may not even work.
@@Incommensurabilities Honestly, it would be tough know for sure buddy. However, based on the fact that laptop sales outnumber desktops 2:1, recouping those design costs would be tougher on this little gem. It's a shame more aftermarket case makers don't get a bit more creative these days though.
you need to go watch a trash can mac tear down. Nothing is impressive besides they figured out how to emulate the trash can apple with even poorer cooling. The magic in the trash can mac is its cooling solution to create that form factor..Also that thing wasnt well received for its minimalist design approach obviously because mac went right back to make square designs. Because more cooler means more better. It sacrifices function for form.
Many companies tried these vertical ITX designs back in the 10-series. Somehow only Corsair ONE got refreshed and updated year after year while all the other projects did not survive.

Oh man my grandpa used to have a Lancia Beta Montecarlo Spider. I always wanted the car but it needed a lot of work and parts were practically impossible to find here in the US and the car is also incredibly rare here too. The price for parts was also incredibly absurd. It was always under a cover and people would always ask "Is that a DeLorean ?" Or "Is that a Ferrari !?" I think it was actually designed by Pinnifarina. Even if I had got the car I didn't fit in it at all at 6'5 height.
If you assign keybinds to "Benchmark" in the Afterburner settings, you can start/stop a benchmark whenever you like and when enabled, it shows you fps for 1%, 0.1% and so on. May be handy.

An AMD Ryzen laptop 7xxx CPU and a low profile RTX 4060 would be ideal for cool temps and excellent performance. Minisforum already makes an ITX motherboard with an AMD Ryzen laptop grade CPU built-in. It provides excellent performance per watt and runs cool.

I can't remember if I never noticed that you didn't have a frametime graph before or if I just thought you preferred it without the graph. In any case, it's very useful as an indicator of consistency and I highly recommend it. Side note: Many games seem to have bad FPS caps, I think...? However, it seems you can use RivaTuner Statistic Server to force a limit that's perfectly smooth.
It might be that the GPU temps were higher after the repaste because the clocks were higher, from the limited few seconds it was on screen i never saw it dip down from 17xx MHz
I love it! Everything is custom. This whole machine had to be engineered up. I want one! Also still have a 1060 here somewhere. Last generation of cards with a usable price to performance ratio.
Bought one of these many years ago when we were in Vegas. Won a little bit and got one delivered to our hotel. The answer was $4000 or just about. HAs twin GTX980 8GB Cards, which these days there is little use for, as SLi is a dead stick, but super machine. As Dawid says, it is like having your own personal turbine and it sucks in everything within 20ft! Absolutely no idea what they are worth these days, but they are a lovely thing to be fair..... Shame they are not as inventive these days? Great Vid Dawid! Get the feeling you were intrigued, as it wasn't slated as much as it should / could have been? ;-p

I can't remember if I never noticed that you didn't have a frametime graph before or if I just thought you preferred it without the graph. In any case, it's very useful as an indicator of consistency and I highly recommend it. Side note: Many games seem to have bad FPS caps, I think...? However, it seems you can use RivaTuner Statistic Server to force a limit that's perfectly smooth.

It might be that the GPU temps were higher after the repaste because the clocks were higher, from the limited few seconds it was on screen i never saw it dip down from 17xx MHz

Bought one of these many years ago when we were in Vegas. Won a little bit and got one delivered to our hotel. The answer was $4000 or just about. HAs twin GTX980 8GB Cards, which these days there is little use for, as SLi is a dead stick, but super machine. As Dawid says, it is like having your own personal turbine and it sucks in everything within 20ft! Absolutely no idea what they are worth these days, but they are a lovely thing to be fair..... Shame they are not as inventive these days? Great Vid Dawid! Get the feeling you were intrigued, as it wasn't slated as much as it should / could have been? ;-p
