I wish I could place my finger on the exact reason this song feels so... powerful. Im a writer, and I'd love to capture this same feeling in words, but I can't place why it rings. The lyrics tell a story, but they pass an emotion as well. Maybe it's the idea of full commitence to something freater than one's self. Maybe it is fantasitcal, but I have always wanted to find that one thing I could fully dedicate myself too. Maybe that's why this song speaks so profoundly to me. At any rate, this song is dreadfully under viewed. You have made a work of art.
I think what makes it “epic” is the invocation. “By the the weight of the chain… I swear upon my honor.” Makes it feel like they’re fighting for something bigger than themselves. Find someone or something your characters can swear to “for the honor of the Light” “For Queen and country” “For the God Emperor” etc. as well as being marketable it gives weight to characters actions. Alternatively you could go in the complete opposite direction (the Connan and Berserk route) have the enemies invoke higher powers but your protagonist cuts through them without praying to anything because they’re just that strong or their gods don’t really care about them. Both are epic in there own way and it depends on the feel you want your story to have. Hope that helps.
Thank you YT Music Radio, I needed a song like this in my library.
