I think EVERYTHING is Nixie's dump stat. I mean, the way Nicole (the character, not to be confused with Alessia the actor) has Nixie throw fireball at ANYONE, regardless of whether a scorching ray / heat metal / flame blade / chromatic orb (fire) / burning hands / fire bolt or conjure bonfire would do!
Yes, but at least he's entertaining about it and doesn't throw effing feather tokens in front of the goddamn tomb entrance. Never seen a party kill a guest so fast.
Antreus finally remembers he has spells! Every time I listen to Bardic Inspiration and he says "I may not be brave or magic or strong" I'm like, buddy, bards are full spellcasters, get a little Hypnotic Pattern up in here
@@RayneRaily In Pathfinder 1st and 2nd Edition, and 5th Edition D&D they have access to the same level spells as Wizards. So... yes full caster class. Unlike say a 1st ed PF Paladin or Magus.

I like how the two actually have different singing and lyric styles. Sometimes in rap battles its very apparent that the same person wrote both characters.
It's nice that it ties into how they perform in universe as well. Antrius uses sple classical musical skill whilst Zephyr is capable but his performance is carried by special effects
Thomas’s voice never fails to just blow me away. It’s so rich and powerful, but he can so easily make it soar. His diction is spotless, his patter makes Modern Major General look pedestrian, and he’s so easily able to infuse so much character and emotion into each syllable. Its just jaw-dropping, honestly.
I saw in the behind the scenes of "Bardic Inspiration" that Antreus' Actor had an experience in real life with messing up a live audition and getting a second chance with Deerstalker Pictures. So, i really like the touch here where he was beaten and then with the help of his friends came back stronger than ever. I can't imagine anyone better suited for the role of Antreus. You've produced another great music video here. :)
I don't think Antrius knew all of this, he just cast it anyway and hope for the best. Antrius face expression about the part with the sock tells us he was surprised, too.
Also, Zephyr constantly attacks people in his song, while Antrius only attacks Zephyr's skills and him personally. Antrius never needs to include personal remarks to anyone else to win, because he is confident that Zephyr's flaws would be enough, while Zephyr doesn't even try to win fair and square. Basically Antrius came to have an actual discussion, while Zephyr tries to win a debate with insults, which is also found in people with lower self esteem
Zephyr at the beginning throwing fingerhearts and generally acting like a stereotypical K-Pop idol had me in stitches. Antrius revving up toward the end? Priceless. These shenanigans are why I subscribed!
It was made more effective by having zephyr real life player not saying anything and staying silent, using his body to communicate rather than talk to the players. If he said something in that scene, it would have ruined the whole skit.
I think the finger-hearts were actually him using a type of charm spell, seeing as people went from cheering to booing Antrius after the first one and after the second people suddenly rushed to defend Zephyr.

y'know, I love insult wars as an artform, and there's an interesting detail I noticed about rap battles: In contrast to Epic Rap Battles of History, the knock-offs are mostly just a string of generic insults, potty humor and swearing. No wit, no class, no hitting your opponent right where it hurts, and certainly no double-point lines where you hit your opponent and praise yourself with the same set of words. ERB does it right. I've seen a Disney Princess rap battle that did it right ("What's my name? Belle. What's it mean? Beauty. I'm the perfect combination of brains and booty"), and earlier tonight I ran across a rap battle between Peter Quill and Cap'n Jack Sparrow that was *glorious* -- witty, fast-paced, well acted, with incredible visuals. I was stunned because, like I said, when I went looking for other people doing what ERB was doing, I found nothing but potty humor and pointless insults. And the thing with this piece is, Zephyr is doing exactly that -- "You suck, let me compare you and your friends to a dick and a turd and a fart and a 'splooshy'" (thanks, Click) -- and yet not only are the lines cleverly written ("You think you're a god? please, you're a codpiece" is inspired) but the character portrayal is designed around this lack of wit. Which puts a huge spin on things and leaves me enjoying it more than I'd expected to. And now you've made me appreciate it more by pointing out a detail I hadn't yet picked up on, the distinction in quality between the two sets of lyrics. That's beautiful. P.S. Besides wit, the other quality an insult war tests is Poise -- hearing the insults without losing your cool, and being able to gather your wits enough to strike back, maybe twist your opponent's words around to attack them back. Zephyr completely fails that by the end here.

Love this one! It's catchy, on point, a series of highlights of different emotional states. Zephyr is quite cool, while also you hate him and later feel awkwardly sorry. Antrius ist his natural self-praising self while also adorable when giving in to cheat-defeat. Then the turn for friendship only for seconds later to fall for self-praise again. Love it. Tells so much of a story in just some few minutes.

I bet that they'd crush a 10 to 15 minute episode style. Maybe with 10 episodes per season. Keeping the purview of satirizing D&D logic and poking fun at player/character perspectives is vital IMO. I do like the idea of making an entire, linear campaign as the milieu of one season, though 😁 Kind of the best of both a movie and a season combined.

Antrius ist his natural self-praising self while also adorable when giving in to cheat-defeat. Then the turn for friendship only for seconds later to fall for self-praise again. Love it. Tells so much of a story in just some few minutes.

I bet that they'd crush a 10 to 15 minute episode style. Maybe with 10 episodes per season. Keeping the purview of satirizing D&D logic and poking fun at player/character perspectives is vital IMO.
I do like the idea of making an entire, linear campaign as the milieu of one season, though 😁 Kind of the best of both a movie and a season combined.
