Thank you so much!! This worked perfect for me. And the crazy part is. I only spent $14 to repair it. I took it to a computer repair shop and they quoted me at $330 to fix this. Said the part costed $200 and the service fee was $130. You saved me a lot of time and money! Great video!

This worked perfectly for my macbook pro - same issue - keyboard and trackpad was unresponsive. I purchased the repair kit off amazon - and it was an easy fix.

Bought a dirt cheap Macbook Pro 2015 on an auction site with this issue. Seller included a Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse. Bought the flex cable, crossed my fingers and voilá! Fix worked like a charm. I later sold the keyboard & mouse :)
I have a mid 2015, 15". I just replaced the battery which was a very difficult job believe it or not requiring a lot of disassembly. I probably tweaked the keyboard cable putting it back together. But thanks to your video that is the first thing I'm going to check and if necessary buy a new one. Thank you!

Excellent - I cleaned up the contacts on the ribbon with contact cleaner and a fine emery paper and it worked.
This is not only happening in India. Their recent products are faulty, one way or the other and they charge a huge sum to fix it. They will never fix smaller issues but only replace the major components that dont even need replacing. Watch some Louis Rossmann videos.

Hello, I am experiencing the same problem now. I have ordered that flex cable. But in the meantime, I decided to install Linux mint 20 and to my surprise the keyboard and touchpad works well in Linux. Very strange, can you investigate further this issue.
This thing is working..... and the guys at the apple store asked me to replace the whole thing as well....

I have the same problem but replacing the flex cable didn't help. My caps lock light doesn't turn on too. Did that work for you before you replaced the flex cable?

I have replaced the cable and my keyboard started working again but it stopped the next day. I reinstalled the cable and the keyboard worked but again it stopped later. Any suggestions?

Evans I don't think so! Flex cable over time , it gets stopped working! It's common in electronic devices!
Just purchased my cable and report kit. Really hoping this will fix it.
So I did like the video and It worked for a few minutes. But when I put the mac back together It wasnt working anymore. I can still get the trackpad to work with the old cable but the new is dead. Any help?

I have corrosion on my touchpad and it is causing problems. I unplugged the flat cable and wanted to use an external mouse. But when I it, the keyboard stops working too. Although it has a separate connection to the board. You don't know why this is?

I replaced a battery yesterday and also a new trackpad cable. The cable is fully seated, I did an SMC and PRAM reset method and still no trackpad or keyboard. The key oard does work to do the SMC reset using control, alt and left shift or whatever the sequence is but once booted neither work still....they worked perfect before battery replacement and I've done MANY of these on 2013-2015 machines. Thoughts? Could the trackpad have got damaged? I doubt it as I'm careful but you never know and if so, would that cause keyboard to also not work once booted up? A1502 13" retina early 2015 i7 3.1Ghz. thank you.

I am facing this two times already. 1st time it was just suddenly not working (kb+trackpad), and then i use it as desktop replacement, connect to two monitors and kb external. It works fine. Suddenly, one morning, the KB and trackpad working again (for 3 months). Yesterday, suddenly it is not working again 😂 😂 😂

I just open the back of my mac up, and then push the connecter down and then the trackpad and keyboard worked again. Apperently there were a loose connection.

I have a question, I have a similar problem, but the trackpad and the keyboard only stop being recognized after the main login screen is passed. When I restart the computer, the keyboard and the trackpad work fine, however after the screen with the loading bar is complete the keyboard and the trackpad becomes unresponsive and the mac automatically opens up a window that searches for Bluetooth keyboard and mouse devices. Will this solution work for me?

Hi my friend. my name is Hernán from argentina. today i returned from my vacations and my mac did not turn on.. i opened ( i have the tools because I already fiixed rattling speakers) and find out that taking off that flex, my mac turn on again, i thought it was the 6 years old battery but not--- i will puchase the flex, but now the keyboard is not working... it´s not working because of this flex? also i burned my finger with one component of the trackpad board...it was near 90C !! do you think my trackpad is death? i will buy the flex..its 11 dollars in argentina but takes a week to arrives to my small city.. do you have any suggestion? sorry for bother you.....

Sounds like an issue with the battery.
abhipesit abhipesit actually I fixed it!! It wasn’t the battery, I just plugged the power cable back in place wrong or not fully in. Went back in and unplugged the power cable and plugged it back in fully this time and it worked perfectly brand new!!!!

Yash Patel Later i bought another cable from eBay and surprisingly it worked for around two month. Then when setting up network I inserted a displayport to rj45 adapter and it never worked again.
My macbook pro retina 13" from 2015 had the same problem. I've changed the cable and it worked fine for two weeks until the same problem happened again. I just discovered that if I open the hardware and move the cable it recognizes ir again. I think it's a poblem related to putting the funcking cable next to the battery because of the heat (so this is a problem o hardware design of the assholes of Apple). Try what I'm saying, you don't precisely need to change the cable, it just needs to move and push the connectors and it will work again until the heat loosens it again. This is Apple fault for the design so they should take care of the bad hardware design.
