What do you think about the #YamahaMT03 and the #YamahaR3? Will you buy it over the likes of the KTMs and the Kawasakis? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
I almost got the MT03 for my first bike but ended up getting a Z400. Looking back I like the looks of the MT better. Wouldn’t mind having one today to go along with my Bonneville T100.
I am also first time rider about to buy and it sucks trying to decide. Especially for me cos I do like the idea of being able togo off road if I want. You didnt? But part of me really wants to be loyal to Yamaha cos of my gutiar amp lol and the MT-03 seems to be perfect beginner bike. I saw one guy put offroad capable street tiresd on his MT-03 and he said it was a winner
It's a twin cylinder but lacks the power of Duke 390.. Mt 03 should have a 3.7 lakh tag and r3 4 lakh. But it won't happen because the unit are Cbu. Now if we do the calculation. R3 is priced at 3 lakh INR outside at the lowest round off. Add a 50% import duty and that's 1.5 lacs extra. So the lowest price you are gonna get for the r3 is 4.5 lacs on road otherwise the company won't make the same profit. But since Aprilia is here at 4.6 lakh nobody is buying the r3. It's a deathmatch out here.
The lack of features will prove to be the reason Yamaha is not establishing itself in the above 155cc segment. consumers will ignore it, leading to low sales numbers and then it will be discontinued. At least a TFT display and slipper clutch should be equipped looking at the market competition.
Too much high price compare to other brands for the only engine price is high ...japananese product always make high price ... No tft ,no quick shifter ...its like 125 cc bike features , this days india motorcycles are far away developed in features and hardware like tft and tft at all . R3 younger sibling r15m have colour tft and guick shipter and more more 😅😂😂haha wat joke hamaha..... Trying to make fools of indian rider with just only engine r3 wll never success in india ... R3 competetor is arriving soon ....
Yamaha is missing out a big chunk of the market by being reluctant to launch two more bikes based on the same engine. A Tenere 300 and an XSR/RD 300 under 5L OTR. A T3 would be a proper unicorn tier bike and the xsr would be more like the rebirth of the notorious rd350. Yamaha would sell like hot cakes considering its reliability, looks and nostalgia. Really informative review brother. Keep up the good work. People like you could express the opinion of the public to the brand. Yamaha already said they would produce T3 if there is enough demand. They certainly has the techological capability and resources. Sadly, they are now making bikes for people who don't care about the brand while conveniently avoiding their true connoisseurs. ✌️
Gone wait for Slipper clutch and quick shifter aluminium swingarm if possible new updated look of R3 why i would settle for less while yamaha 155 cc gets alot of feature not 300
Do you think that keeping engine capacity in mind( 321cc engine), yamaha should have provided the front tyre 110 instead of 100 & rear tyre 150 instead of 140???
I wish Yamaha should had add some features, it would have been much value for money , i know raw bikes are built different and it has twin cylinder but if Yamaha can provide so much features in R15 so i wish they do update the features a lil bit more
You are absolutely right. Especially at the expected price that the R3/MT-03 will be launched, the motorcycles are almost barebones when it comes to features.
@@idrisahmed2659 agreed but if u see it's the best bike ( R15 ) in its segment and R3 isn't the best in its segment compared to RC 390 , they could have given an Quick shifter and Good Speedometer

457 is brand new so no one can talk of the bikes specific reliability as a fact but going by the brand that is aprillia and seeing how they make their bikes, it’s a decent bet to say they will be good but they would still not be as safe as a Yamaha anything. R3 has a track record of being bullet proof and virtually indestructible. But, is it worth the difference in power compared to the 457, the bells and whistles the 457 comes with and while looks are subjective, I think the 457 looks a whole lot better than the new R3. The old R3 is still a better looker than the new one in my opinion.
I have the R3 … the 2020 model and it’s a fantastic bike. Make no mistake about it. But for a market like India, especially now with Aprillias 457, am sure KTM is safe for their target audience isn’t going to be looking at the R3 and anyone looking for parallel twins are going to be looking at 457 mostly and if not then the ninja 300. Yamaha have shot themselves in their foot with the pricing of the new R3. It’s a sad thing for me as a Yamaha fan for I think it’s going to be better than 457 in the long run considering the maintenance cost and the sheer reliability factor and still is a lot cheaper to maintain than the ninja 300 and is a more fun bike than the ninja 300 owing to the 22ccs of extra displacement it has over the 300 and the torque that comes at lower rpm’s making it a hoot under city conditions as well. But the price in India for it is just a blasphemy. If I were in the market today for a low displacement twin, I wudnt even consider the R3, knowing how great a machine it is too at that.
I have booked Duke 390 (2024). Now really concerned should i cancel the booking and go for MT03 / RTR 310 or Scrambler 400x? Too many negative videos of engine sizure on new duke 390 + vibration so strong on handle bar that mirrors are even not functional ( bolts unscrew itself due to solid vibration). Can you please suggest 🥺
Go for Duke 390 without any second thoughts. It's the best bike in the segment. Mt 03 won't give u these many essential features, rtr 310 is a good bike but too much vibrations as soon as it goes above 130. Scrambler 400x is a different segment bike but a good one, you can go for it as well.
