I totally agree ... my favorite Ozzy was when Jake played Guitar. Funny thing when guitar players think they know how Jake played something theyre usually 99% wrong its played completely different !!! Always one of my favorite guitar players !!!

Totally. I really don't see what the big fuss about Randy Rhodes was??? Bark at the Moon was my favourite Oz album. Pretty sure Jake was on that one. Though lightening Strikes was the first Oz song I ever heard.....not knowing that Oz was in Sabbath as a kid.....and every kid growing up in a small town in the 80s had heard a couple early Sabbath tunes echoing off in the distance of some older crews house more than a few times. So you subconsciously knew the songs already.

You really have to put the time frame into perspective. At the time when Eddie Van Halen, Randy Road, George Lynch, Jake E Lee etc. emerged, The most influential guitar players were Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Ritchie Blackmore, Jeff Beck and so on so Randy was a huge deal.

We were almost spoiled for choice with great guitar players in the 80s, I loved and still love Tesla's second album, and both Skeoch and Hannon really complimented each other, not overly flashy neither. I've started to listen to Bark at the Moon for the first time in over 30 years, and quite a bit, Jake's guitar is just phenomenal.

Bark At The Moon is the Ozzy album that I grew up with. My oldest sister bought it for me on cassette tape back in 1988 when I was ten years old. I already loved Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal since 1983 when I first listened to Quiet Riot's Metal Health album, but Ozzy's Bark At The Moon album changed my life. I have been a huge massive of Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal ever since. It is still my favorite Ozzy album, but I love all the other 80's albums alot as well. Jake E Lee has always been my favorite solo Ozzy guitar player. His guitar playing Is insanely amazing , especially on the Bark At The Moon song. love all of Ratt's albums, especially Out Of The Cellar and Invasion Of Your Privacy big time. Warren Demartini is a phenomenal guitar player as well. Master Of Puppets is a masterpiece, but my favorite has always been Ride The Lightning. Mark definitely has great taste in music.

The first time I heard Metallica was when they opened for Ozzy "Ultimate Sin" tour. First song, Battery, blew me away! Next day I went and bought "Master of Puppets" with what little money I had as a teenager, instantly became a huge fan of that whole album. Ozzy with Jake was amazing as well, loved Jake! The Ultimate Sin gets a lot of crap now cause it is a little more "glammy" compared to the others, but that was the time back then, that's what was selling.. And Jake ripped it up on that entire Album.. And Killer of Giants is one of my all time favorite songs as well.. Jake got a raw deal for so long, and he didn't deserve it. That guy deserves respect from respected players so it's nice to hear this coming from Mark... He could have easily jumped on a bandwagon and played it safe and said yeah Blizzard of Oz w/ Randy..Which I'm not downing Randy whatsoever.. Randy was the reason I picked up a guitar in the early 80s as a kid. But, Mark talked about Jake and the Ultimate Sin.. Very cool. And very nice for someone to give Franky Hannon some props.. That guy is so under rated.

I loved Warren DeMartini. He had the smoothest fingering…they moved on the fretboard like the proverbial hot knife through butter…just flowed so easily.
Frank Hannon was amazing. I remember the moment I first heard that opening riff to Modern Day Cowboy…it was after school on MTV. It stopped me in my tracks, and I knew greatness was about to follow.
I saw Metallica open for OZZY on the Master of Puppets tour., which may have been Ozzy’s Ultimate Sin Tour…can’t remember. I wasn’t much of a fan then, but now, I still always choose MoP as their best album…hands down!
