So what do you guys think? Huge missed opportunity IMO.
true
nothing else just true
Limited switch options go pair that with the loud pinging noise on the space bar. You are giving an honest review. Don't sell yourself short on you being too hard on it. In fact i rather you bump it up to the next level to give it a holds no barred angry rant review of it. You did beautifully. Its like if this person was your girl friend you would break up with her.
Maybe the worse fumble in Corsair’s history.
Curious how you feel this compares to the Huntsman Mini. I personally tried the Mini and the 60% form factor just isn’t for me, but otherwise I felt it was a fine board. At least it didn’t look like an Amazon no brand 60% board, the K65 really just looks like an Amazon board with a Corsair key cap set. I also think the K65 naming isn’t the best choice as I know I would’ve assumed it was a 65% form factor, but I’m not a Corsair guy so maybe that’s just me.
I really don’t know what Corsair’s mission is among its competitors. They’ll release impressive flagship keyboards like the K95 or K100 but then shove this out the door or a mediocre mouse.
Totally agree man, They need a clear direction with their keyboards.
What the hell is wrong with Corsair releasing this out the door? Meanwhile I am using the Razer Huntsman Mini 60% keyboard, this one is better. Razer makes better keyboards than Corsair in my opinion. Your right they also release mediocre mouse. Meanwhile my razer wireless Basilisk Ultimate wireless mouse is going great. This mice gets 100 hours of battery life. You also get a charging dock. The switch on the mice is optical.
I think this is Corsair’s third keyboard with a proper bottom row as we have the K100 and new K60.
Kinda late on this keyboard but I love it! Favorite keyboard right now. Also, this one appealed to me because it didn't have corsair's standard brushed aluminum styling, my mind associates that with tacky and cheap lol
Honestly, every single review I'm seeing is just making me think I should get it. Every review I've seen basically boils down to "There's nothing really wrong with this keyboard, it's just not super impressive and there are better options out there." Which is fair, but the fact that this option works with iCUE is a pretty big upside for me personally.
Nothing wrong with that. If you like it and want icue control go for it :)
i like the lighting
Honestly I would buy if I had an extra 110 to spend. Just cause of the Corsair name as a loyalist and not to mention the icue software is nice to have everything sync. It’s a good buy for those that love the name and don’t have much preference in keyboards other than linear speed switches. I am actually thinking of buying simply for the standard key layout, usb-c connection, and icue
I think that the best MAINSTREAM keeb is the razer huntsman mini, but building a custom one you can have a by far better one
A GK61 is basically this board, but with bluetooth and hotswappable switches
Doesnt the GK61 have a hotswap/Bluetooth variant?
Or gk61 lol for price and it's optical great review
Would’ve been fine if they had optical switches
Corsair One 2 Mini
Corsair 2 Mecha Mini
@@Iuffycs lol
They put an 8k sensor then didn't used they're own optical switches, missed opportunity and I'd rather get a cheapo GK61 or take a ducky or razer mini.
is there any way to fix this ping? I love the feel and sound of corsair cherry switches (they just feel better/ sound better to me. The ping is something that needs to go... any ideas?
I still cant figure out why ducky cherry reds sound and feel way softer than corsair cherry reds.
Why not a review of razer cynosa chroma v2 ?
@Brainbean - just going off what you said it seems DEAD ACCURATE. The lack of switches alone is a no-go for me. I hate linear switches. Have a K95 plat with speeds sitting on a shelf for over a year now. Would probably use it if it had browns or blues in it but meh to linears.
Just got to find the right ones. I have lubed gateron milky yellows in my custom and they feel way better than anything that consumer boards offer
Hopefully they release a K65 which is an actual 65% (or a 60% will do) that is as premium as their K100 so optical switches and an aluminum chassis
Well if it follows the current naming conventions it’d probably be the K70 Mini lol
tbh they should have just done a ducky colab. but like customs are better.
Anything would have been a better choice lol.
Hi great vid was thinking of buying but now I’m looking for something better
try out the ducky one 2 mini
but if you want a hot swappeble you can take the gk61 (just look up gk61 if you dont know what im talking about)
@@gotchubro9334 I see thx
I'm about to buy the hyperx alloy origins 60, do you think it will be worth spending 30 dollars more for the razer hunstman mini?
Go sith hyper x if its 30 dollars cheaper
Why offer THREE linear switches? MX Reds and SIlents are basically the same switch. MX Speeds and MX Browns would have been better. Or why not the new Corsair optical switches?
All the reviews bring this up and I completely agree why not use their own switch they have it would have been a great move, optical switches seems to be all the rage these days, this whole launch feels like they are just going through the motions and not trying to make a product that is competitve
100% agree, such a bizarre choice. and why make a new OPX switch and not use it on new releases?
@@Brainbean If Corsair dropped this at $79.99, they could have shaken things up, too. Lots off odd choices. I'm sure Justin is getting an earful.
@@Brainbean Because if they used the OPX switch instead of the Cherry Red switches , they will of course charge the consumers more money on this keyboard. They are trying to sell this as a value, forget quality. I do agree that they should get rid of cherry switches to go with the linear, tactile and clicky Opx Switch.
How do I connect it on my ps4 thoooo
I am in the market to buy a 60% keyboard, should i wait to buy a keyboard with 8k polling rate that offers optical switches or go with Cherry mx speeds on this board? Future proofing my purchase. Currently using the rk71 with gateron brown switches, not the best board but my 1st mechanical keyboard. Recently got RTX3080 and looking to upgrade mouse to razer viper 8k as well for my birthday.
8k hz polling rate is just nonsense marketing, don’t get speed silvers they’re crap, try getting an optical keyboard if you’ll use it for gaming
@@cfl4sh361 ended up getting razer tartarus pro with analog optical switches with a D pad on thumb with mouse buttons! Its amazing 🙌 also i ll get 8k mouse soon since razer viper 8k is goated💪
That almost headache inducing ping is not worth €129. Also the K65 naming like someone else commented, is a bit weird. Also disappointed that tactile and clicky fans are being left out. Should have made it hot-swappable like the GMMK. How can Glorious price theirs at a more competitive price while industry giants like Corsairs can't.
So no opx switches?
nope
The dumbest thing is them calling it 65. What will they call one with cursor keys?
Their mice may fail so corsair still beats them in that market but razer has been killing the TKL and 60 field forever. My blackwidow tourney edition is going on 7yrs of hardcore gaming with no issues.
To be honest, I really hate linear switches lol
I've been wanting to upgrade from my Razer Ornata Chroma v1 to a real mechanical keyboard but I don't want linear switches and I also don't like that high end keyboards don't have an RGB diffuser anymore. Because damn Ornata's RGB looks awesome compared to any other high end keyboard I've seen.
Having a diffuser can be annoying for people looking for individual key lighting, as the lights might bleed through to other letters.
@@mohsinchheena430 True but also kinda not true haha
It's true it will bleed a little but what it mostly does is make a clean transition between keys. I used to have individual key lightings and it looked really great because it felt like the whole key was lit up and not just a point under it 😊
Bruh my shortcuts never work waste of money
they took everything that made their big chonky solid full metal stylish keyboards. and just threw it away
Agreed. I wanted to see that tanky Corsair design on a 60%
This keyboard is just for corsair ecosystem people. But not worth if you are not into it like me
This seems really disappointing. I expected something even better from corsair but no, this just another generic 60% with the same generic features
Feels like its just a GK61X without hotswap sockets and changed fn and arrow key function placement
To put it simply, this keyboard sucks. I had one and I had nothing but problems with it. I wanted something for in my pack when I was taking my steam deck somewhere with a surface, like the library or a homie's place.Where do I begin.... Key chatter, RGBs not working, function keys wouldn't register correctly, keys would stick. Thought I got a dud but I found a lot of other users on the Corsair forum having similar problems. I ended up returning it. Unfortunate because I love clicky keys, and hearing this thing type is amazing.
When you can buy the epomaker sk61 or gk61 on Amazon for 100$ canadian this is a hard sell. Both those boards are 60% and hot swappable. This is a giant rip off.
Exactly, and the Epomaker is better quality too.
at first i was like fuck off i just bought a ducky one 2 mini v2 cherry speeds... now im not xd
nah, you're good. Ducky One 2 Mini is solid.
The only cool thing about the board is the "Radiant Spacebar" As far as everything else, Corsair wtf were you smoking?
Pay $110 for iCue LMAO.
how does the ping get there??
moment in the video 4:23
no sound dampening in the case its self. Take the plate and PCB out and all you have is a hollow plastic shell. Ping city
I thought is had to do with the springs and not lubing
@@gotchubro9334 this can definitely be a factor too, but considering it's using the same case that GK6X keyboards use, no sound dampening is a big criminal here
the corsair gk61 lol
Noti gangggggg
hold up... corsair still makes peripherals? LOL
thats literally their largest selling point what are you talking about
@@maxreiter2826 u made my morning budd xD. ty for makin me laugh
Razer still wins
They always do when compared to Corsairs junk that they make.
@@SVT_LIGHTNING Razer wins. For the win!
