Brother, that was a lot of hell you went through to get it going right. This part is too small, that part is too big, this one wasn't even made right, the shop said it'll fit but it didn't, this trans has problems, that trans got ruined by another part, thousands of dollars and an eternity later and it finally runs and sounds good, heck yeah. I wouldn't mind having my S10 sound like that, but right now with its exhaust, it has a throaty sound that eats at your ears eventually at mid-throttle. Glad you found a 5 speed too, was thinking they wouldn't have another nearby.

Yeah man talk about a big stress relief off of me for sure . It's still not done but I'm just really glad to have the big driveability stuff done and move on to other things . All that I have done and spent I could have just about enough to have the old 700r4 rebuilt but to late now and the truck just seems happier being a manual transmission. More Torque and less drag on the engine side , engine will be getting upgrades soon that I think is really gonna wake it up . Including a carb is all I'm sayin lol

You’re a great mechanic I wish you were in my neck of the woods I have a 2.8 ext cab 92 I can’t figure out the air in fuel it runs pretty good but I think it has so much more to offer

I appreciate that , now yours I'm assuming is 82-85 Carbureted 2.8 ? , yeah the factory carbs there is only 1 set screw and apparently that 1 does air and fuel together and supposedly isn't supposed to be touched but I have on mine to make it run a bit better but it still runs way to rich so the plan is to swap to a Edelbrock Dual Plane Intake and throw a Holley 4 Barrel 390cfm on it and I can actually tune it and get it to run alot better and a bit more peppy getting it down the track .

What a journey man. And it sounds great tho, that T5 is putting in the work

Most definitely , it's a for sure a night and day difference in how it runs and drives . Sounds more healthy less weight the engine has to pull around and more torque when you mash on it

@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 mine is a 89 tbi 2.8, it can be gutless at times, do you think it would be worth it to rebuild it with a cam and what not? And mine already has the T5

@@ThePeninsulaRailfan yeah I would or... you could find a good 3.4 to put in it and do that same stuff too to boost it up a bit and be a bit quicker . I been looking for a 3.4 for mine but no luck they are hard to find now days but back when the 2.8s died GM offerd the 3.4 as a upgrade and or swap for these trucks .
I have some plans for mine to make it a bit more snappy and power . There's another youtuber I watch my self that does this stuff to 2.8s as well if u haven't heard of him . His channel is JB little shop

@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 yea I'm subscribed to him to. I plan on keeping the tbi tho because in California you cannot turn a efi car to carb, it'll never pass emissions. Therefore i want to keep the 2.8 tbi and just beef it up a tad since it's my daily driver. But it can be annoying at times where I start it up and it blows blue smoke for a sec

@@ThePeninsulaRailfan Ah I see yea that can be a bit annoying for sure living in places like that your limited alot to certen things . But The blue smoke is just bad valve guide Seals , my old 2.8 engine smoked some but was fine and the old 85 Fwd 2.8 smoked bad on cold start but was good after warmed up. Werid too that most 4.3s I have owned always smoked like that on cold start as well
