I've paused at the 25:50 mark to comment real quick. On the distributor, that round thing that spun a little bit should spin. Every distributor I've seen on these engines have had that thing spin, so you're good on that. Also, that rust you saw is normal with some higher mileage dizzys. My old one was just like that, but the wires that went from it to the ICM was all frayed to crap and split, so I got a new one. Here's what I want to say man - DO NOT get the WAI Global brand Distributor from O'Reillys. I did that and was chasing a super annoying timing problem and sudden stumbling issues. Sometimes it would work just fine, other times while driving, I'd get a flashing code 13, and you should ONLY see that when you're reading codes with engine off. Took it back and got a junkyard oem distributor from a 1992 Blazer with that same engine and it has worked just fine for me since, with a Standard Motor Products ICM. Looks just like that Blazers. So just in case anyone is wondering for future case, TBI and Vortec 4.3 dizzys can interchange, no problem. As for the motor mount, good.luck. Its a 4x4, getting a 13(or a 15 I forgot)mm in there for the 3 block to mount bolts is gonna suuuuuuck. The 5/8 mount to frame bolt and nut aren't *too* bad. You can get by with cutting off the bottom little bracket that extends outwards a little but doesn't do anything else other than take up space, then you can fit a wrench on it.

Goodness good to know I won't be buying one of that brand . and that engine mount I'm so not looking forward to that fix lol , That's gonna be a real fun one
I keep thinking back to the 93 S10 I had TBI 4.3 and it did this crap but ended up being a real bad ECM and it threw 3 codes that wouldn't go away and the transmission was the same and it would jerk so hard that it barked the tires in 2nd gear as like it had a shift kit in it . The blazer seems lazy on shifting on the 1st to 2nd and 3rd shifts and that could be alot in the mount being so bad

Sounds like vapor lock, but that's a carburetor problem 🤔. With the great fuel we have now I would almost bet that filter is about plugged now

Could be the fuel filter but I just don't see it being that with how it can have full power at higher speeds or rev up fine but then all sudden out of no where or warning it will Run and idle like crap and cut up and wants to die out , the exhaust smells like rich fuel so something is off that the ecm is reading or controlling is what I'm guessing cause this acts exactly like my 93 I had but was TBI 4.3 and the ECM was bad but that one would throw codes for 3 things and made the trans jerk in 2nd and bark the tires 🤷‍♂️

However with it been sitting and whatever was in the tank a new filter is on the list

Great video. I like to see somebody working on these little trucks. I've got an 83 S15, and I'm looking to find another 2.8 to put in it. I have kind of a stupid question. I found a rebuilt 2.8 V6. The ad says 80 to 81. Mine is an 83. Would the motor still just drop right in and bolt right on?

S10s didn't get the 2.8 till 82 which is the first year for S10 platform but if it's a true earlier 2.8 I'd make sure it was RWD and not FWD cause FWD was first if I'm not mistaken

Yeah Some was TBI and Some had this Spider CPI setup . I'd definitely take a TBI 4.3 any day versus owning this or may find a carb intake and swap it
