      Most songs are doable for most ranges, singers don't sing unsingable songs. The issue tends to occur, as the lady suggested, when you're trying to go too fast, trying to get too many words out, tgsts the bit that takes practice. I slow the playback speed of almost all songs. Pitch is often off when you're not engaging thought and mouth movement with your voice, ie you need to practice it all, tongue twisters and speed up those, as suggested here, you haven't got a problem with the note, hearing it, hitting it, or your pitch, you have more likely got a problem with the change , doing it too fast and sometimes too slow. Keep going on scales and words until you can speed them both up

  • @deliberatelypositive5812

    #2 for sure. I know I can hear pitch but can't quite bring it into singing actual words. When just singing a note and doing warm-ups, I'm in pitch, but something happens when I start to sing a song. I have an inkling it's because I get too in my head, whereas during the warm ups I'm just listening and aware of my breathing.
    Edit: Finished the video. This seems to happen with me regardless of the level of difficulty.. even with "Happy Birthday". I think it's because I am focusing on the lyrics in my head rather than listening to the note in my head. Idk... hopefully something clicks soon! Been trying for 8 years and keep thinking maybe I'm just incapable of getting anybetter and I just have to embrace being someone who enjoys singing but never sings in key. Lol. Too stubborn though.

      What I find that helps, is to first make sure you are not tense at all. Nice loosey goosey (especially under your chin, this area should not be tense at all-put your thumb under there to feel as you sing). Then, hear the song you are trying to sing in your head, and then match what you are hearing with your imagination. (It also helps to sing along with someone else singing it a few times before attempting it on your own.) Pay really close attention on how they are pronouncing their vowels and consonants. Try and mimick it. (You can later mess around with your own version.) Another exercise that really helps you to get up into a strong head voice, is to sing your song saying GEE GEE GEE instead of the words (you will feel it in between your eyes and nose). Then, try singing the words right afterwards. Hope that helps.

    2 was so obvious, I am very good at matching pitch so being tone deaf isn't the problem, but more of straining my voice when I try to sing high notes sometimes. We had several boys in choir this last year, around 15 or more, (they were bass and tenners) 4 - 5 altos, and 3 sopranos. I was soprano so singing loud with high notes all year for gospel type songs, really messed with the throat and how I sing for pop songs. So like is there a way to fix this maybe? I don't even fully understand what my problem is...

    It kind of depends on which sort of speakers you are listening to. In my cheap speakers only the #1 is really in tune. The problem with the number 2 is that it gradually matches the pitch. It ends on pitch. Number 3 is also out of tune to my ears.

    • @nikkifranklin2737
      @nikkifranklin2737 Год назад

      Assuming, you are not tone deaf, I think you thought she was still singing at the end. She decrescendos and pauses between each pitch. Her voice never matched on #2, she stopped singing and the note was the only thing playing. #3 is for sure on pitch but you may have some issues with your hearing in general (maybe tinnitus or tinnitus adjacent?). It makes pitches distorted for the hearer and there’s an after pitch ring.

    • @392023001

      2nd pitch was definitely almost a whole tone off. 1st and third pitch is just ever so slightly not matching due to sound quality, different speakers and maybe using a piano app...

      I'm only a beginner so take with a grain of salt: Easiest thing is probably to listen to yourself on headphones while you sing, so you can always hear exactly how it really sounds. Otherwise, you might have to force yourself to sing a little higher than you think you should and get used to how that sounds.

But, there's a but. On rare occasions while singing along to the radio I find I'm a bit off pitch. Unsure how. I try a higher pitch doesn't seem right, then a lower pitch, still not right, and I'm then confused. Is this an uncommon experience or well known ? Is there something I can do to avoid it ?

    Yo is 10 to 15 cents off bad? I've just been singing along for a while, and now I'm noticing my pitch might be slightly off and I'm having a bit of an existential crisis. It's not every note, but it's enough.

    When I play guitar I lose 90% of my singing ability it drives me nuts, put the guitar down and I can sing again it's like flicking a switch. I can sing something perfectly in tune without the guitar but as soon as I pick the axe up I'm below average again.
