Also this explains why Jagi in a sense is weaker than the other hokuto brothers in terms of martial arts and why he had to resort to cheating(not justifiable btw but let's be honest when the going gets tough we all will take some shortcuts one way or another). It's a tragic story of how hard work and effort just doesn't guarantee success,but wht makes Jagi unique in this is tht he did work hard early into his life as a hokuto trainee, a bit like Kenshiro if u will. However he took the hardship in a very negative manner unlike Ken who was flexible and willing to admit he wasnt the strongest. In a sense Jagi is still hateable coz he took all the shortcuts when the going got tough but in the end we too also stand at risk going down this path like Jagi. Thts why im angry at those tht think Jagi Gaiden is a joke coz they believe Jagi is a full fledged villain coz they don't realise tht they r like Jagi; inflexible, arrogant and small-minded, not willing to admit tht they hv flaws as well

the manga? yes it is officially licensed and is considered canon by some since we dont know how canon the gaidens are

@@efter It's the closest thing we have for his backstory since he wasn't given much detail despite he literally being of the 4 brothers :/ I think it's up to us to decide if it's canon
