Thank god for cars like this. Perfect antidote to the tech overloaded cookie cutter variants being churned out by manufacturers that seemed to have lost touch with a what a lot of people want - simple, affordable transport gives you everything you need and nothing you dont. Good job Dacia.
the first thing that gets mentioned on a car nowadays is Bluetooth! ask a car dealer if the car has a space saver wheel of full size wheel none of them seem to know!
Yes! I have owned Renault scenics since 2010. And don't like, nor could afford, the new ones. But I am drawn to this! The trim resembles my mk3 and as I have a thing about stuff staying the same and not super gadgety this looks Idea.
It won't be long until the penny drops with other manufacturers that people don't want tech for tech sake, they would rather have a much lower price to pay than pointless tech no one asked for.
Except from 2022 the EU are mandating all this pointless tech that no one wants on all new cars whether they like it or want it or not!! 😤😤 they can’t ban cars so they’re just making them too expensive for the poor to afford

I have had a Duster for about 18 months, best car I have ever owned, is there a better 4x4 for the money?I like its looks, different to most SUV's and it drives well, much better than most reviewers will say. Oh the joys of simple motoring! I do get very irritated by the constant is there a better 4x4 for the money? to cars that are much more expensive, of course if you've just been driving a £40,000 alternative, you will notice the difference! Scratchy plastics, what's that all about? Honestly, Dacia's, in general, are fine cars, not just value for money but reliable, easy to own, sensible and capable, if you think otherwise then you probably have never driven one!
As a Romanian, and a Dacia fan, to your question of a cheaper 4x4, there is only the Lada Niva. For as long as they will produce it. And even they are rebadging Dacia cars. So, as a Romanian, seeing a Russian brand take to our Dacias is a great confirmation of their robustness.

Absolutely nice ride. I order my first one next week, 150 hp automatic. The main reason for the 3 points in safety are caused by the lack of modern driving assistant systems. The car shares platform with Renault Clio and Nissan Juke and since we don't hear of crushed families in these cars in masses I think I can live with it. I drove one two days ago, I come from an narrow, expensive and dead empty 118 I bmw, with seat textile and door rubber fading after 20,000 km for twice the price. A stunning car in every corner, I will miss it, but two kids need more space now. And even with BMW background for ten years the Duster to me seems surprisingly good. Am looking forward to it, but I won't mind too much, the price difference will be spend on a classic Mazda MX 5 in one year.
I've had so many top end cars but bought a new Duster last year to get out of the company car tax trap. It was the Twenty Twenty edition TCE130 1.3 turbo petrol, its been fantastic , 47mpg on average , large carrying capacity , nice ride (on the soft side which suits me). Cant fault the car or the support from the dealer - 3 years servicing included for peanuts. Last workhorse I had as good as this was the original Fiat Doblo 2l diesel which did 100,000 without a single issue. I looked at the MG ZS but sorry the quality was iffy and I'm not buying anything from China after the last two years.......
@@jameshess2912 Believe it , I get around 42 mpg around local roads and into the 50-55mpg on a good run - the Duster is quite a light vehicle being based on a Cleo so that helps . Into eco mode even better but it's a bit frustrating to drive in that mode - the 6th gear really is a mpg marvel on the faster roads.
@@jameshess2912 I assume your American if you say highway , if not apologies, if so add 15% for UK gallon for fuel consumption over US gallon as its smaller. Also virtually all budget cars in UK are manual transmission ads another 10%+.
I had a 2016 Duster, from new, for 3 years. It was faultless throughout, nothing squeaked or rattled from that ‘built to a price’ interior, nothing fell off😀 It was comfortable, relaxing on the motorway and very predictable on the road. I’ve owned expensive cars, middle priced cars and a few cheap ones. None were as ‘satisfying’ to own as the Duster. Yes, not sophisticated, not full of electronics but utterly brilliant and dependable. Actually, there was one fault. Main beam headlight bulb went on year 2. I bought a simple bulb and was able to very easily replace the broken one in less than 2 minutes. I can’t remember the last time I was able to do that.
cool, I am thinking about 1l with LPG for extra savings, if I can do 150k km city (I plan only city) in LPG I would save 14,000 euro on fuel only which is the price of the car.
Just got a year old duster. Brilliant car which is a better drive than my old qashqai. Sure it’s not cutting edge but amazing value for the money. I really rate it as engine is very responsive even in eco mode. The Dacia dealer was really good and so far couldn’t be happier.
On order. Loved it on a test drive. Basic, simple motoring with everything you need and nothing that you don’t. Great boot space, pleasant enough 1.3 turbo engine.
What is this thing with car reviewers that they scratch the plastic on dashboards and look down on it? Its just a dashboard.. if you want to pay £20k more on your car and get a leather dashboard then great, but that doesn't really add anything to the car. Had one of these for 3 years now, the 150bhp version and its quick, very economical and you can fit anything in it!
I have had the Bi-fuel Prestige+ (French model) for four weeks now. Coming from a very basic Vectra C Estate 2.2 DTi from 2004 I can say I'm a happy chappy! It's quieter and more comfortable than I expected. LPG is 80cts here compared to €1.60 or more for petrol...
@@lsa3424 I think it best to ask for a test-drive before ordering. Sluggish for some can be fine for others. Since I bought it end of October and over the 5000+ km I've done I haven't pushed it hard and have tried to adapt my way of driving to a more serene eco-friendly style. That said the engine is smooth and pretty quiet with the LPG set up being 10bhp more powerful (100 bhp)with 170Nm of torque. Out of the 5000km I've done only about 500km have been in unleaded petrol mode. I live in a mountainous area with a lot of gear-changing due to climbs and turns but I've also done a 600km trip to Paris with 4 in the car and a full boot on the Motorway using cruise control at 132kph which it kept pretty well but obviously we are not talking a 130bhp or 150bhp . It has been pleasurable to drive this car which remember is a 3 cylinder 999cc Turbo engine but does feel more powerful than you would expect. It all depends on what you want from your car....my advice test it first to be sure .
I bought a Sandero stepway three weeks ago. Bought cash. It's cheap. Lpg tank costs me 24 Euro to fill up and lasts me all week. I'm commuting 80kms a day. The android auto display works great with a neat little cable connection. I use Waze on the screen with RUclips music. The display comes with a built in phone holder. Auto wipers, auto lights, reverse sensors. The roof racks swivel and lock into cross position which is handy for surf boards and also the car has as much ground clearance as the duster as far as I could see. It actually handles rough roads really well as it's light.. More than you need really. I love the car. I think it looks good, seems well built. Got good power. Never have to worry about running out of fuel. In Spain by 2024 all gas stations will be mandated to have lpg. I've got a station in my town that charges 0.75 euro a litre. People go, oh no you bought a dacia but I just think who cares, you get a new car for the price of a second hand car. Its just a damn car. Lpg let's you drive in the low emissions zones and keeps you safe from super tax. Poor man's Tesla! Dacia is gaming the system with this LPG thing. Lol if it's reliable it will be the best car I've ever owned. And I used to have a golf and an Impreza.
Great review brilliant car had my 1.3 twenty twenty model for just over a year, great equipment and great value. I’ve had all the posh cars and been in the motor trade for 30 years and Dacia offer honest well equipped cars at affordable prices. I’m afraid that most cars now are horribly overpriced. Renault-Dacia need praise for being in touch with reality.
Did I see twin gas struts on the bonnet? Lots of far more expensive cars don't get that! The dip in the boot would be great for umbrellas and as for hard scratchy plastic, so that's like a new VW then!? As long as it doesn't squeak or rattle, at this price it's not a problem, in fact it sounded very quiet on the test drive. A great car for the money.
Had a 2016 model for 3 years from new. I live in rural Ireland - rough country roads come as standard. Tyres get punctured fairly regularly and cars get a fair old shaking. Not in the Duster though. Pot holes no problem and absolutely no squeaks or rattles in that interior for the 65,000 km I covered in the 3 years. (Unlike a new Golf and a new Passat I’d owned with a really ‘solid’ interior) No scratches on the plastic either - it’s tough. Only issue in the whole time was one headlight bulb in year 3. Cheap to buy a bulb and I changed it myself in less than 2 minutes, just like we could all those years ago, It was a dependable friend of a car.
Still have ours 2014 Dacia Duster, TCe, that thing just holds together so damn well. I just send it to repairs, be course the windshield wiper stopped working.... And that's it, no other repairs has been needed, then just the basic stuff to maintain it. What a damn good car.

the thing that doesn't get a lot of coverage on these reviews is what that soft, overrated suspension means on country roads. I have had a Diesel Duster for 3 years now and will likely side-grade to an LPG version as it makes sense for me. I live in Cambridgeshire, where the roads are pitted and undulate wildly, especially in the fens; every car my wife and I have owned prior to the Duster has been through endless suspension struts and springs and has been horrible to drive on those roads. Most people wildly dodge around sunken road segments (or just give up and drive in the middle of the road) and cause huge hazards in the process. The duster suspension is able to deal with those conditions effectively and there is a certain irony when you consistently overtake performance cars that have drivers squealing in agony over the bumps. I've driven in other SUV style cars belonging to other people, and while they don't wallow so much in the corner, the setup still leaves you regretting the ride after the first few miles.
In effect they are learning the lessons from 40 years ago when cars such as the Citroën 2cv and its derivatives such as the Dyane were designed as inexpensive functional cars to cope admirably with just such roads. The Duster seems a great value car and is the only new car I would consider if I decide to change from my 11 year old Mercedes C class in a couple of years. The only things I'd like which it doesn't seem to have is a sun roof and cd player as don't want to have to fiddle with a touch screen when driving or mess around with a phone to play music, hate tech in general and you should be able to have what you like if paying for it.
I had one of the pre-facelift Comfort spec Dusters- really liked it and sold it on to my brother in law recently (he also loves it) A really good, honest car. The lack of a footrest never bothered me and the interior plastics were fine - hard wearing and surprisingly resistant to scratches from dogs and luggage. Mine had the old 1.6 SCE engine, which was a bit weedy, but overall it was a great car. The facelift seems to have a few useful improvements - but I'm not a fan of the black roof roof rails and mirrors. Much prefer the previous satin aluminium finish (which looked more premium) If I was buying now, think I would want the automatic option - suits the relaxed style of the car. Also not a fan of the latest orange(?) colour of the car in this video - the previous desert sand metallic was much better suited. Personally couldn't car less about all the OTT driving aids on most other modern cars - they are often temperamental and cry wolf too often in my experience. Still a great buy if you want a fossil fuelled car....
Why are there so few cars like this ? All I want is a reliable, economical, capable, stripped down car. The only extras I want are aircon, radio/cd/mp3 player. I could live with wind down windows. If I want sat nav I have my smart phone. I don't need "infotainment". I wonder how much of all the bells and whistles result in days in the dealers getting faults fixed or accidents caused by distractions.
Indeed! Infotainment systems on many cars are notorious for going wrong and costing a fortune to replace. You can't just pop in a Halfords job like you used to!
One of the best car reviews to date that I have seen for this car. I value an honest review without the insipid manic 'brummy' style or the plethora of similar others. This is rational, calm, clear review and without form of car industry hype. Well done...I am in with a subscription and thumbs up. Thank you.
This cars easily the most practical one I've bought. It's no frills with an interior that looks as chunky as my old Mk2 Golf. That's probably why I love it.
I purchased the Duster bi-fuel prestige late September, I was looking at used 3-5 year old Seat ateca, Suzuki vitara, Suzuki sx4 s-cross and Nissan qashqai, I only wanted to spend 18k top and could only find mid range cars for that price. All the mid range 3-5 year old Suv have similar safety specs as the Duster prestige. The Duster won me over because of the Lpg. My duster also has 8" navigation and heated seats. My previous car was a Volkswagen Up! The Duster is nicer to drive in town than the Up. No longer have to crawl over speed bumps. Also with Lpg better on fuel than the Up. I get average 32-35 mpg on Lpg in urban traffic.
Sounds great but I’m curios how at early 30mpg how is it more eco than an up? I have an up and live in Brum. The worst I’ve ever averaged is 38mpg and I drove like a loon. Mostly I achieve 45, sometimes around 50mpg. All around the city!
@@jonathansmith5850 because at only 0.62p a litre and petrol costing £1.42 + the Up cost more each week to run. The Duster gets around 250+ to a tank of Lpg but to fill the 42l tank only cost £25. The Lpg tank is 50l but you can only fill Lpg to 80%. A full tank in the up was about £40.

Thank goodness for affordable and cheap and simple cars. You may not think of buying this particular vehicle or be interested in its existence, but in more recent times, its manufacturers such as Dacia that keep the bottom end of affordable cars down, and help prevent them escalating into the stratosphere. Decades ago, car manufacturers spend until amounts of money and effort in trying to both anticipate and listen to what car customers wanted. Sometimes they missed the mark, often times they had a hit. In recent times, the car market is mired in choice. But in that hurricane of models and makes, there's one thing that has become seemingly acceptable. They're all getting expensive. We're not simply talking about electric batteries costing more or the rise of material costs. Cars used to be a means to get around. They were useful, practical and were a often a mean for people and families to have a better quality of life by allowing freedom and access to many. But recently, they're status symbols parked on driveways to appease a sense of more is more. More lights, more gimmicks, more toys. Ask yourself this; if things like blind spsot cameras, big vapid interior screens and toys were stripped from tour car, would you be a worse driver for it? Dacia and brands like them may seem cheap and cheerful, but they serve a purpose also. They show that cars can be simple and cheap. When cheap cars sell in volumes, other makers get worried because they never know if it may signal a sudden shift in customer demands. These high end makers never be 100% sure if the bubble may burst as cost of living rises. Has the modern car now become less of a method of getting around and more of a luxury item again? Perhaps, but Dacia keeps others on their toes and reminds ordinary people that cars can be rugged, well made, simple and above all else, that they need not swallow 25% + of your monthly income to own. Scoff if you will, but customers can be fickle and tastes can change unexpectedly like the wind. You'll always get rich people buying big luxury SUVs, but as wallets get tighter and prices of other things in daily life increases, the market may one day shift very suddenly to makers such as Dacia and their non nonsense cars.
The whole point about driving a car is that YOU are driving a car - if you rely on autonomous braking/steering aids then you are asking for trouble - and maybe shouldn't be behind the wheel at all. I own a pre-facelift Duster and I cannot fault it - and, contrary to this review, they are great fun to drive!!
I have a 2020 Duster and yes, the interior is very budget and everything plastic fantastic. However, if you use your Duster as a work vehicle and carry big dogs like me. you'll appreciate the fact that all that plastic is very easy to clean.
Indeed, when I'm dumping 100 planks of wood in it I don't want to be fretting over whether it's getting a bit knocked about inside. Poser 40K SUVs are for posing in and nothing else. The Dacia is a utility vehicle first and foremost.
The "cheap feel" and "plastici interior" doensn't bother me, your buying a car for around 20.000 euro's. Don't expect too much. I love the interior design more than leather or any other fancy type. The design, the looks, the infotainment system, the led lights, trunk space, Airco, cruise control. I mean it has al the features you need. I'm sold.
Well depends on how you use it. The hard plastic interior is great for me because it is hard to scratch. And even if you scratch it you just don't care.
Hard plastics = hard wearing. We had kids and muddy everything in and out of ours and it never damaged anything. Soft touch stuff is fine if you're not going to use the car. If you want it to last and be easy to clean, nothing wrong with tough materials. For the record our other car is a 71 plate 5 series, so I understand the nice interiors thing. I just don't see the Duster as the same thing. It's a hard wearing vehicle to get out and use, and for that it's great. Like criticising a spade for not being leather trimmed and heated. It's a spade. Dig with it...
Automatic emergency braking sometimes helps to prevent accidents BUT sometimes it will slam on brakes in the middle of intersection thinking you are driving directly into oncoming cars it gets spooked by sings mounted in the middle of curves or oncoming cars that barelly touch dividing line in curves and so on, I am glad Dacia does not put this system in Duster and still is a little bit oldschool compared to other manufacturers making car interiors into spaceships full touch screens for climate control, brightness settings, start-stop system turn off etc. I hope mine lasts at least 15years by that time we should be fueling ICE with hydrogen because the only the only batery powered vehicle that I am willing to buy is Tamiya Clodbuster.
Just got ours about 2 weeks ago and to be fair it's amazing. For the price and the size of the car it's perfect for camping and adventures. And it's dosnt have all the extra pointless tech that some of the other cars have. All in all if you looking for a decent big car this is the car for you.
Duster is good but main thing in an off road is ground clearance so it needs to be raised like above 250mm so that it's 4 4Wd could be used efficiently.
@@tg1w Mostly good. I don't miss the power and performance as much as you'd think. My biggest bugbear is the lack of a clutch rest in the Duster. Having a warranty takes takes away any worry of expensive bits going pop.
I'm ignoring this review. Sat in one in the showroom and it felt much better than stated in this clip. We all know it's cheap and it won't set the world alight but for a top range model with everything on it you can't loose. Will be buying one asap
Thanks for that good presentation with showing all its pros and conts. I ordered a new Duster in november 2021 and hopefully will get it soon. I have chosen the bi-fuel LPG version, because here in germany (where I'm living) the petrol prices are exploding due to the new CO2 taxes. So we have to pay about 1,80€/Litre for regular fuel right now. LPG is way cheaper - about half the price. So I'm curious about my new Duster to come... 🙂
I drive Cadillac ATS-V and now in winter I drive BMW 3 series all wheel drive and to be honest I wish they would bring this cheap and cute car to Canada so I can buy one for my daughter, it doesn’t look bad at all considering the price this car is a steal of a deal. I did look how reliable they are and they proved them selfs on European market over the years with minor hiccups and on top to have a car that can go 1250km between gas stations is absolutely insane. I've always gone for quite expensive hot hatches and I got sick of spending a fortune on everything. One of my mates got one of these and I love it, gonna wait for the face-lift next year and get one of these
I've been owning one for over 2 years. Apart from regular (cheap) servicing, it hasn't asked for anything else. Not even a light bulb changed. Can't be happier with the reliability. That said, I just used a similar MG ZS as a rental car, 22k miles only, plusher interior, etc... but the gearbox broke while doing a standing start. Pity Dacia increased the prices by over £3k since this review came out.
Bi fuel version ? I have the bi fuel Sandero Stepway and to be honest I bought a get you home tyre. Plus lpg is a good option and even in May 2022 lpg is about 75 to 80 p per litre. You get 40 mpg so less than the unleaded. The TCe 999 cc engine (used in the bi fuel) is the same as the one in the Clio. Safety? Most cars like this are absolutely fine, it's not a Ford, VW or Skoda but it's half the price. What's not to like? The Stepway is a ''mini duster'' and is effectively a super mini sized vehicle.
this is really the kind of stuff that's missing in North America. Latin america has cars that just get you places without much fuss, but over here, everybody just has to have something better than their neighbour. Maybe it's a bit low on power, but, if stelantis brings it over, it might apeal to the few sensible buyers still around, just don't stick a FIAT badge on it.
I think Dacia has nothing to do with Stelantis unfortunately as Renault is not part of the PSA group. Speaking of power though, the car is actually one of the lightest SUVs out there, so with the 1.3 TCe engine I have no issues doing overtakes or driving on the motorway; it's all adequate.
@@tg1w huh idk what i was on about stelantis is definitly not with Renault. That being said, it could be broughg over as a nissan since it shares the platform with the rogue and the kicks anyways. I have a 69 plate and am very happy with it. Would upgrade to a newer one but I see Dacia hiked up the prices by over £3k since this review was made. No longer such an affordable car 😢.
It's a cheap as chips car. It's not going to be perfect and I think they did a great job. Who cares about plastics unless you're a snob who would be buying a Merc anyway.
The real question should be 1. Why can’t other manufacturers try this out for healthy competition at this budget market 2. Why on earth has lpg not been more of a thing in the uk? I’ve just ordered the bi fuel as my local Morrisons is 72p a litre for lpg!
Whoever the first car reviewer was to scratch the dashboard on a car as a ‘plastic quality test’ really caused the rest of us years of screaming at a screen shouting ‘nobody scratches the dash on a car ever’. It’s a cringe as kicking tyres but so cliche now everyone does it.
2nd generation? You can distinguish them by the rear lights. 1st generation had plain long rear lights. 2nd the white crosses and then this one must be the 3rd generation with arrow lamps.
I have the 2018 and I'm driving almost 3000 miles per month I really feel the discomfort , can never find a good driving position. Like a very good second hand for someone that drives a lot in the motorway but also needs a good off road? Need help,I'm so ignorant about cars 😂. I hope you see this and reply to me 😂
I don't understand why he's comparing it to the Skoda at significantly more money. They're not really in the same market at all, Skoda not really being a budget brand these days. I wouldn't buy the Skoda. It isn't as good as the Porsche Macan or Alfa Stelvio. See?
@@HadrianTAZ well, What Car are very, very VAG oriented. I'm not quite sure why, but in every review they compare the car to a VAG vehicle. Which is really only helpful if you've actually driven that car. Skoda - 10 years ago - were a way to get a Golf for a lot less money.

Is the 150 hp the Bifuel one? I would like one with an auto
I've got the same model and got about 49mpg for the last 2000 miles. It's unbelievable how good a deal this car is, for a petrol car.
@@tg1w It's unreal for the money they cost .....hard to beat imho.
47 mpg on average!!! That mean you can get over 65 mpg in the highway. For an SUV, I don't believe that.
It was faultless throughout, nothing squeaked or rattled from that ‘built to a price’ interior, nothing fell off😀
It was comfortable, relaxing on the motorway and very predictable on the road.
There might be 100 suvs out there.. From jimny to range rover... But duster is all I need.
Just got a year old duster. Brilliant car which is a better drive than my old qashqai. Sure it’s not cutting edge but amazing value for the money. I really rate it as engine is very responsive even in eco mode. The Dacia dealer was really good and so far couldn’t be happier.
Had my 1.3 Duster a couple of years now & it's by far the best car I've ever had in over 37 years of driving.
I also love the 1.3 TCe Duster. Low fuel consumption, reasonably nippy... low maintenance costs. What's not to like?
I think it’s great if you are looking for a comfortable, spacious, affordable car. I like the styling too.

Unbeatable value for money.
I'm looking at buying this model but am concerned about its power, I thought the 130 petrol was sluggish, is this engine noticeably worse than that?
Well said..
Why do manufacturers think it safe for drivers to have to negotiate menus while driving ??
Did I see twin gas struts on the bonnet? Lots of far more expensive cars don't get that! The dip in the boot would be great for umbrellas and as for hard scratchy plastic, so that's like a new VW then!? As long as it doesn't squeak or rattle, at this price it's not a problem, in fact it sounded very quiet on the test drive. A great car for the money.
No squeaks or rattles In mine, much quieter than my previous car which was a VW Up.
No complaints. Not a single squeak or rattle. And the ‘hard’ plastic does not scratch! 😄
Mine have always had bootliners, or Hatchbags, so I've never had a problem with it
Had a 2016 model for 3 years from new.
Cheap to buy a bulb and I changed it myself in less than 2 minutes, just like we could all those years ago,
It was a dependable friend of a car.
Still have ours 2014 Dacia Duster, TCe, that thing just holds together so damn well.
I just send it to repairs, be course the windshield wiper stopped working.... And that's it, no other repairs has been needed, then just the basic stuff to maintain it. What a damn good car.
every time a motoring mags review a budget car you compare it to something double its price ..why? ... its never going to be as good its not meant to be its meant to be affordable you might just as well compare it to a Rolls Royce

the thing that doesn't get a lot of coverage on these reviews is what that soft, overrated suspension means on country roads.
I love my Duster. Bought it as new in 2017. Duster 1.5 DCi Diesel. A lot of packing space because I love to travel.
We have the foot-rest on the left-hand drive versions. Very much enjoying my 2021 Bi-fuel version...
Why are there so few cars like this ?

I like the fact they put the tablet , I men "infotainment screen" down where it is instead of up high where the majority of vehicles have it. I rather it down there.
Yes and it even works properly. Many of the high end brands are strugling with their infotainment system. Lagging, or not working at all.
Over 700 miles on a fuel tank. That makes it much better than any electric SUV that cost 4 times more and you can go off road
It doesn't refill every morning, does it?

It's plain cool, even in car trade, it's great, proper motoring for peanuts
Perfect workhorse in these financially hard times
Who cares about hard plastic? I’ve never understood that. Who spends all day caressing their car trim? 🙄
Just got ours about 2 weeks ago and to be fair it's amazing. For the price and the size of the car it's perfect for camping and adventures. And it's dosnt have all the extra pointless tech that some of the other cars have. All in all if you looking for a decent big car this is the car for you.
Nice little family ride..keep it up duster👍 very easy daily ride with comfort.
I love my Duster - wouldn't go back to a more expensive car now
Great car all things considered.Thanks.
Cars should be more like this and less like £100k Audi Q7's. Seriously.
looks good works great and for the money is a bargain
Duster is good but main thing in an off road is ground clearance so it needs to be raised like above 250mm so that it's 4 4Wd could be used efficiently.
I'm going from a twin turbo V8 TDI Touareg with an 8 speed Auto to a 130TCe, 6 speed manual Duster, I can't wait.
How's the transition going :)?
@@tg1w Mostly good. I don't miss the power and performance as much as you'd think. My biggest bugbear is the lack of a clutch rest in the Duster. Having a warranty takes takes away any worry of expensive bits going pop.
Good review but can you have torque in Newton Metres please?
I'm ignoring this review. Sat in one in the showroom and it felt much better than stated in this clip. We all know it's cheap and it won't set the world alight but for a top range model with everything on it you can't loose. Will be buying one asap
230.000 km and still not one problem with my 2011 Duster. 5l diesel /100km , i surely will buy the same when the day comes.
You may not find the diesel version though 😊.
I ordered my bi-fuel Prestige in November too, Alex. I’m hoping to get it by the end of March 👍
Hi. Did it arrive? How satisfied are you when running on LPG?
@@tg1w hi,
No, unfortunatly not. I'm still waiting....
I don't think automatic stop is that crucial.
can already see renault using the back lights for their marketing in south africa
I have an underground parking space, so LPG cars are not allowed. This is Poland by the way, not the UK. Might be different back home.
You also can`t use the Channel Tunnel if you use LPG!!
About MG brand is something that you need to know before buying it cars:
Whining At High Speed. Problem: ...
Uneven Idling. Problem: ...
Misfiring Engine. Problem: ...
Jerky Driving. Problem: ...
Clicking Sound on Ignition. Problem: ...
Car Won't Start. Problem: ...
Boot Not Staying Open. Problem: ...
Scraping Noise From Front. Problem
Better to buy Japanese is my opinion.
Dacia doesn't make cheap cars - it makes Affordable cars.
I love the Duster
My name is Dacia, so that’s cool 😂
I own you lol.
Hope you know what Dacia means. :)
@@ichtys7730 nope
Thank god they still make a version with manual transmission: )
this is really the kind of stuff that's missing in North America.
As long as they don't stick the terrible cvt in there. As for power, we have difderent standards here. My yaris 1.5L 107hp is borderline. My 500 abarth has what it takes. Notice they're both very light
I really want one of these I'm 51 years old and I just want something to get me from A to B that's cheap to own, my wife dead against it though and I've no idea why cause I think they look really good to be honest
I have a 69 plate and am very happy with it. Would upgrade to a newer one but I see Dacia hiked up the prices by over £3k since this review was made. No longer such an affordable car 😢.
I'm surprised that a suzuki vitara was not mentioned as a close rival to the duster
Great work horse!!!
Thats what it is
Wow! This looks cool.
Great review Doug
What about the Dacia Bigster?
It's a cheap as chips car. It's not going to be perfect and I think they did a great job. Who cares about plastics unless you're a snob who would be buying a Merc anyway.
Excellent and well presented I learnt a lot.
Got one love it the new 2022 can not folt it
Hard plastics. Brings back memories of my old VW t3.
I really wish these were sold in USA
There is a huge market for no bs affordable and capable mechanically cars that do not look horrible.
How to choose between a Duster and a Spring?
Erm do you want a big car or a small car would be my starting point
@@forestdad and do you want to go faster than 60mph, and to get to 60mph in less than an hour.
@@wizzyno1566 True
The Spring is similar size to the Fiat 500 also if your in the UK its currently not available in Rhd.
Actually lacking of all these assistants is one extra plus for Duster among many others.
This the base model why didn't you show us the top model?
The real question should be 1. Why can’t other manufacturers try this out for healthy competition at this budget market
2. Why on earth has lpg not been more of a thing in the uk?
I’ve just ordered the bi fuel as my local Morrisons is 72p a litre for lpg!
I do find the exterior styling youthful, interesting and exciting.
Does it has Power liftgate with Hands free function?
My company wants to buy me a 4wd duster because they are good off-road and cheap but do you have better advice? Like a very good second hand for someone that drives a lot in the motorway but also needs a good off road? Need help,I'm so ignorant about cars 😂.
I hope you see this and reply to me 😂
When will it come to India?
It's a cheap solid car and dacia have come on leaps and bounds. The salesman said so much better than the old ones
I don't understand why he's comparing it to the Skoda at significantly more money. They're not really in the same market at all, Skoda not really being a budget brand these days. I wouldn't buy the Skoda. It isn't as good as the Porsche Macan or Alfa Stelvio. See?
Very good point! These presenters try their best to undermine certain car brands. Why would anyone consider a Skoda anyway? Especially SUV
But prices have crept up and now the Skoda is barely any cheaper spec-for-spec, but will have a more down-to-earth approach to it eg the Octavia Vs the Golf. Different, but no longer much cheaper.
Duster really is not in the same size as Karoq, Kamiq and Arona maybe.
The Boot size is.
@@trustbattlerat 400L for kamiq/arona, 440 duster, 521/540 (depends on varioflex seats) for karoq. The actual interior size, space for passengers, is simply not on par duster vs karoq, duster just looks big, it is quite cozy inside.
Great review. 5*
