    07:49 The Jogger was given a one-star Euro NCAP score for its lack of electronic safety aids. It doesn’t have lane-keep assistance or seatbelt reminders for the third row of seats, and the auto-braking system detects other vehicles but not pedestrians.
    However, the Jogger did score 70% for the structural protection it offers adult occupants, which is equivalent to a four-star rating.
    So, does this put you off the Jogger or not? Let us know below!

    More brands should do what Renault did and is doing with Dacia. Smart and sensible no frills cars for people that are very sensible to how much a new car costs today. Skoda was a brand like that in the '90s and '00s but then "evolved" into the ultimate upper middle class family brand. Fiat could do it but they're more interested into the profitable 500 brand and with the exception of the Panda, have abandoned the "sensible price" segment.

      Fiat still makes quite a bit of budget cars for markets outside the EU, and they tried to make the Tipo, but because of new environmental norms it became more expensive and couldn't really compete with other cars. Plus no-one knew or wanted it

      @@23Shadowfox23 yeah i understand the point of view. But here in Italy there are lots of pandas, tipos... Like 30/40% of the cars are fiat. And that's the main difference with other european big brands. Fiat just make cars for italians (aside the brasilian market ones), so their market is restricted... which is kinda sad if you think all the historic brands they own

You slide one end of the rolled cover in that hole and then you lower it nicely on the other end. It lines up with the boot lip, it eats up a bit from the boot bottom area.

The Renault style is ok once you are used to it I guess, but I don't see it as being superior. The way Renault insist on spreading the buttons for cruise control randomly around the cabin and on both sides of the steering wheel doesn't make sense IMO, other brands get by fine with cruise control on one half of the steering wheel and audio controls on the other half. :)

      You do realise that this is a sub brand of Renault, aquired specifically to manufacture and sell cheap affordable cars.
      It is sold with great success even in the richest countries in EU. Also in South America.
      It will sell like crazy in North America, also. But they probably had enough profit not to bother with usa, not because they would not sell, but because it's a place where u can be sued if u fart on the street. And they spared himselves of this pain in the ass.
      Kia is there and sells alot of cheap cars.
      China is a premium market?
      Please let me sit down before i laugh.
      You probably have no idea what cars chinese drive, outside of their few rich cities.

    • @royliber3824
      @royliber3824 2 года назад +4

      @Susio Dox Incheon It won't go in North America sense Renault doesn't sell their either. Renault make pretty small engines and small cars that wouldn't fit the American population... One of the main reasosn that I know is because generally speaking, the American cars are built to long highway drives and they are quite more reliable than European cars. Also most European cars lack the rich equipment American cars get as standard. 1.0L engines simply won't fit in North America because of how uncomfortable they are in longer drives and they aren't considered reliable by American standards. Dacia sounds like a company that would sell to 3rd world countries but actually its selling quite good in all of Europe. They are sensible cars which mostly fit to the big cities, with great fuel economy and not many senseless quirks that simply would cost more to install. Its basically a block on 4 wheels that takes you from point A to point B the cheapest way possible, it won't fit NA market but doesn't have to.

    • @TassieLorenzo
      @TassieLorenzo 2 года назад +2

      @@dan_6915 I agree except for "it will sell like crazy in North America", that's not so sure. The culture is quite different, North American economy car buyers prefer Japanese and Korean cars. I'm not sure North American economy car buyers are completely comfortable with Renault products (obviously Renault's tie-up with AMC went really badly).
      Asian cars dominate the economy car sector in North America. Where Clio and Golf may be the best selling compact cars in Europe, Civic and Corolla are the best selling compact cars in North America. The Asian brands are really the only ones left in the economy car segment in North America, with the American brands having withdrawn from selling cars, and most European brands not selling economy cars in NA (only VW, with FIAT having withdrawn, and obviously no Renault, Dacia, Skoda, Seat etc).
      It doesn't necessarily make sense but it is just how it is: conversely, European buyers don't seem completely comfortable with Toyota or Honda products and prefer their domestic brands, Toyota are only 5th place by volume in Europe compared to first place nearly everywhere else. Part of this is the EU diesel push from the late 90's that protected the domestic auto industry in Europe, whereas Toyota obviously focussed on petrol hybrids instead which was the preferred emissions reduction policy of California.

    Dacia is basically Ford of the early 1900's. Making affordable cars for anyone to be able to buy. Hope it widens the model range. Dacia now has an MPV(Jogger), C segment/Compact SUV(Duster), A segment/City Car Electric(Spring), B segment/Subcompact(Sandero), C segment/Compact (Logan)(not available in Western Europe I think). Just think you're buying a Dacia E segment/Full-size SUV around 40k or a D segment/mid-size sedan for around 25k. That would be a real game changer in the European car market. Look at me I'm basically becoming a Dacia fanboy. 😀

    • @koborkutya7338
      @koborkutya7338 Год назад +1

      agree. One comment though, Dacia's specialty is to produce cars that delivers what people actually need in terms of functionality. Full size SUV is, let's be honest, not that anyone needs as a vehicle. There is no functionality that a full size SUV would deliver. That class should deliver a feeling that you are rich, cool, dangerous, marvelous, you push everyone off the road or kill them on impact because you are so f*cking hard ass bad guy. In that segment being cheap is actually a disadvantage, it does not radiate the the owner has millions a month and has the latest drugs on offer plus a rack of machine guns in the glove compartment. Full size SUV is BMW land or Daimler country or GMC or whatever brand likes to be associated with organized crime.
      OK I might exaggerate a bit (Volvo XC90 is not really a pusher's car) but hope I could make the point :)
      Full size sedan, on the other hand, is something real, that I hope they will extend into (though, I hope they will move there with some kind of station wagon design, to maximize space).

      @@mohammedsalimahmed5230 Wider doesn't mean you have faster highways :)) what is the top speed in most US states? 110 km/h (130 km/h in EU and on some highways in Germany NO SPEED RESTRICTION yolo :) )... this engine is enough. If you would've driven at different speeds on each lane on your highways (like in EU) and not on all lanes at the same speed, the engine would be more than enough to stay safely on the first lane and at your maximum speed allowed... 110 km/h. Problem with driving in US is that you don't have the same highway education like in the EU, hence the need for a bigger engine to pass old ladies in 2,5 tonnes cars and more overall safety because of higher car density on your highways. If you plan to drive it more "locally" the car does what it should do and even more, for the money... With a cc you would pay it in like 12 months top without sweating :)) You won't see this car being sold in US because of under the table deals...

Also potentially more reliable the way it is like that. as a previous owner of a 2017 dacia sandero i would stay away from the brand, they are cheap to buy and that is the only good thing about them, everything else is horrible, anything goes wrong and you are paying loads in repair and parts in relation to the vehicles value... the clutch and the gearbox on mine started to feel very off at about 2 months ownership - had it at a third party mechanic for assessment, he said the car felt like it was at 60k miles, it was at about 2k at the time - the car was worth £4.5k at the time, renault said they can have a look at it but it would set me back 700 quid because of the pathetic arrangement and engineering of everything, they would've had to take the whole middle part of the interior and the gearbox out just to have a look and a new clutch was 500 on top of that. So about 25% of the value of the car in the first year just for something probably broken from factory... The car obviously was brand new and under warranty, still demanded i pay. When i went in with it earlier the renault rep said its just how they drive, they only offered to have a look after i got second opinion from the third party mechanic. Gave it up as soon as i could and went with a real car, none of these money saving brands ever actually save anyone any money. As for the "its just a renault anyway isnt it" its the parts that are subpar for the clio - imagine that - that they send to dacia, so you would be better off with an actual renault if thats what you want

    This is so refreshing, a simple, well executed car. What a concept. Without knowing it, we as customers have been fooled into the modern car and really to a larger extent, all customer goods orgy of features and technology. The amount of our time/labor spent by us to pay the banks for the loans on all of this is staggering. The other thing very seldom mentioned in reviews is the reliability and costs of fixing all these wonders of technology, again it's amazing to me that so many unreliable cars are purchased by people. The reliability question for this Dacia is the only real question now. It's funny, but I was really pulling for this little car while watching the review. Before I am labeled a snowflake, I own a Yaris GR........with the track pack to boot.

    The price/value ratio of Dacia is unbeatable. Period. We had our Logan MCV (I) for 12 years and 300.000 kms and it never left us stranded. 7 optional seats with no luggage or 5 with enormous space. Once you filled it to the brim - be it with people and/or luggage, the (strongest!) diesel engine at 86 HP struggled a lot. It just was a lot of car dangling from a small engine. The Jogger seems to have the same "problem" - but you don´t buy a Dacia as a sportscar-replacement. Instead you get 5,5 litres per 100 kms, reasonable performance and engines that last. We are on a Lodgy now, with the same Diesel engine, but 109 HP. It is more grown up, but still a sensible car.
