I,m just going to keep my 2021 duster 4x4 diesel, 2 gen. Seems like the better choice. Love my Duster. Thanks for sharing the issues with the new Duster. From Sweden 🇸🇪☀️
Here is my top 5 annoying feature of a Duster 3 after 1500km: 1. Lane departure feature. Once I travelled in a dark night and every 10cm moving off the lane centre triggered it. Despite the fact, that there were a lot of space to the lane edge, it started beeping, and the steering wheel started vibrating and trying to move me back to the centre. And if I keep the steering wheel w/o moving, it started beeping twice louder, 'cause it treated this situation as I didn't hold my hands on it. 2. Parking sensors sometime just stuck and keep beeping even there are no obstacles nearby. Helps either speed increasing (which deactivates sensors) or turning engine off and on again. 3. Blind spot warning sometimes triggers even there are no other cars nearby. 4. Multimedia system sometimes just stuck and requires reloading. 5. The view from cameras has a poor quality. On my previous Mitsubishi, I was able to see every blade of grass, while Duster shows just a green surface. Plus, its auto-zoom feature makes the picture less viewable.
Same problem with the blind spot, also my front camera doesn't work until the engine is warm and yes the camera quality is just plain shit. It is fun and easy to drive, but the infotainment, the cameras and the sensors are not worth the money
The one we have (extreme), besides muting the proximity sounds while parking sometimes - to reset it we have to roll back the infotainment to its factory settings, it also doesn't read the road signs after a while driving... it only shows an exclamation mark! Other than that, we love it and hope a firmware update can solve these minor glitches
On my Subaru Forester 2007 the AC also doesn't work at a cold engine. If after 2 - 3 km the engine gets a little warmer, the AC and the heating starts to work. So check your carguide, maybe it is not broken.
Good idea, thanks. I will check it out. Although, the AC button doesn’t work sometimes even after the car is started for more than 10 minutes. I used to do that before starting a journey; leave the AC on to cool off the inside and when I tried to turn the AC off sometimes it just wouldn’t work
I have this on my Peugeot Diesel. It's not a problem, this is a functional thing to prevent engine wear and failure . It's exactly a very useful thing. When the engine becomes warmer, the sensor allows the use of climate control.
I recognize some of the the problems with the display: there will be an update in the last week of October. I have an Extreme version, so no electric handbrake fortunately😅. No further problems, just more noise of the wind and 3cyl. motor.. In the Bigster are those last problems no longer: thicker windscreen and more noise-isolation.. I miss for the passenger a good spot for the phone, and a special space for little things in the dashboard trunk: that was a very clever space! Also useful was the space on the left side for coins: lost in DIII😢 Nice is automatic full lights in the dark, the power of the supporting battery, more room in the trunk, and the good looks of this model.😊😊
All these sensors work poorly in bad weather and if the car is dirty. This is the stupidity of progress, when the sensors are most needed (in bad weather) they work the worst, and this is not only a problem with dacia. Especially the blind spot sensor, it turns on by itself as soon as a light rain falls.
In the end, it's a Dacia not a G-klasse. But, the electronic park brake is a missdesign issue. There should be an option of conventional park brake stick for the off road lovers- may be dacia schedules such an upgrade in the near future...
@@sebastianstoica578here in sweden you choose “tech pack” to get e-brake but it doesn’t mention anything about disk brakes in the rear only drum brakes

it's really a shame that dacia sells a car with these hard armrests. Duster has a few expensive things, e.g. expensive tires, hood on gas telescops, but they don't want to spend a few dollars on soft material. I'm thinking about a new car and duster is tempting, but I think I'll choose symbioz.

I could not connect the media play system from my iPhone to the Duster system. Also, I can't connect the Media Control app to blue tooth, but I don't need it. Also, the buttons on the steering wheel are too close to the edge, when I turn the steering wheel, I sometimes press them by mistake. Honestly...what i really really don't understand: It is a totally redesigned and manifactured model...a lot of safety advances, new multimedia console. The technology behind it, is mostly still provided by Renault. How can a car, that has been tested for so many years now, being equipped with already tested, redefined, already adapted software, have got so many software bugs, or still have the same problems, like my Renault Zoe had with the reverse camera, or parking sensors? 🤦🏻♂️ I just don't get it. Does the Corporation don't care? Shouldn't they check the systems and programming over and over and over again, until it really runs smoothly and without any major flaws? I mean: you already tested the new model vs the old model offroad and even you said, that both all wheel drive technologies, have their strenghts and weak spots...which is totally fine and acceptable i guess, and imaginable, since they also completely equipped new engines and AWD Technologies. But being aware of the fact, that the Head Corp Renault, had their problems in the past, shouldn't i spend the effort in design and programming, so that the customer is provided with a vehicle, that of course is not the technological most advanced, but one of the most reliable? 🤷🏻♂️ Anyways...still a nice looking car and i also guess nice to drive, and wouldn't i have had my doubts about being able to tow a caravan and not overstraining the engine constantly maybe, or also still having my doubts about the combination of the 1.2 Tce MH with 4x4 being reliable and also here...maybe straining the engine and 4x4 system to much...i also would have bought the new model. ✌🏼 Although i have to say, over the years, i also made up my mind about having so many technological features, which you most of the time don't really need or use...so i guess...my choice for the old duster, has been the right one. Hopefully. 😅 Anyways, still a nice to look at car... Hope you're not going to have any major issues in the future...besides some present software bugs...☝🏼👍🏻
Too much (cheap) electronics and no diesel engine, so I'll keep my 2020 gen2 Duster 4x4 1.5 dCi. Manual handbrake, no medianav, no useless adas, no electric mirrors, no keyless, manual A/C button, manual rear windows.... I have all I need! The only thing I miss is a glass roof!
7:00 I got my new Duster last week and the elbow rest on the door is covered by a neoprene like material. Did they fix it or is it part of the Extreme variant? I don't know.
Honestly , I don’t use the wireless charger. Tried it once, the phone heats up too much and because of the camera units it doesn’t stay in place as it should and charges for a few minutes, then stops and so on. Maybe the contact is not ok in your case. What smartphone do you have?
I never liked electric breaks, they are stupid to me! Just as tupid as power liftgates...they are totally unecessary and make the car more vulnerable and expensive to maintain.
I understand their design strategy to use a fixed price as design reference. But after that they should re-evaluate the design to check for errors that cause disappointments after purchase that cause comments that scare future buyers. They did, they made stupid cost savings that can make the Duster less popular in the future. Like: glitching multimedia systems, hard armrest, same weak underbody protection for the 4x4 version, too week engine for the 4x4, design errors in the underbody design (pointing down, so it can scoop up durt driving in reverse. The 4x4 Duster has to be a affordable real workhorse.
You're speaking of an armrest like it's something bloody essential. I've done 80,000 km on my current car, and it has zero armrests left or right. Also did 2200 km in two days in the winter once. Real winter. It's an old Toyota van, rear-wheel drive, no electronics, no ABS. You need to decide whether you need a workhorse or you gonna be annoyed by hard plastics and shit like that.
Really trivial comments in this video. All these things do not amount to much. Many of them seem to have been solved in the new Bigster. Dacia are going in the right direction FAST, and have taken all of the things from their partnership with Renault. I have a Captur from 2013 that has served us well, and will be ordering a Bigster quite soon.
So reliability as expected for a cheap car and brand? That's hilarious how the parking brake won't work above a certain degree, if you live in a hill you can't buy this car.
Yes, indeed the parking brake on steeper roads is a problem. Besides that, i really like it on the day to day use. With all the automation I never need to actually press it😁
Most of the problems will be solved in a few months. So if you don’t want the car based on these problems you will regret not getting it in a few months 😁
Annoying.. This is a new car, with new features couses new problems. They added assistance not because someone ordered it, but it's obligatory, so they also included a button... To turn them off, because they had to be on every time u start the car... This is typical Europe an beurocracy...

The problems with multimedia you are talking about appear in all users of the new duster. This proves that the manufacturer is consciously selling an underdeveloped car. I wanted to buy this car but I won't.
That's what every company is doing. If an issue can be fixed with a later update after the release it will be delayed to give room to more important issues, like e.g. getting EU certification etc. The question is only how effective Dacia will be with their updates. @@alxdava2004 It's worth than that. Today's cars are made by the EU bureaucrats first, not by engineers or even accountants.
Keep it. You’ll thank yourself in few years.

I got my new Duster last week and the elbow rest on the door is covered by a neoprene like material. Did they fix it or is it part of the Extreme variant? I don't know.
Only the extreme trim level has it.
You don't have buttons on the card? Open/close rear, light?
He should have, at least I have and it's also a Journey. It's not an issue
It does but he's talking about the keyless feature.
truly intolerable defects!
never buy a new car at its very first release
true.
I can live with that. It s just annoying 👀😅
what do you think about induction charger? Mine dont charge properly, it's charging maybe 5% in 1 hour
Honestly , I don’t use the wireless charger. Tried it once, the phone heats up too much and because of the camera units it doesn’t stay in place as it should and charges for a few minutes, then stops and so on. Maybe the contact is not ok in your case. What smartphone do you have?
the ac buton is a normativa europeana care zice ca if there are 22 degrees you dont Florin Udrea King need it
I never liked electric breaks, they are stupid to me! Just as tupid as power liftgates...they are totally unecessary and make the car more vulnerable and expensive to maintain.
Neither do I. They made it for the women.
They are not meant for humans but when the car drives itself, good luck when that happens. Who do you roadrage with then?
Pentru a tine frana de mana mai bine, incearca sa ti mai mult timp tras de buton...asa o sa stranga mai bine frana. Numai bine!
It seams I have the same problem with the sensors not working, if someone knows a easy fix, please share :)
All new models have some sort of teething problems. These need to be reported and they will be fixed sooner or later.
When is updated version (without glitches) of Duster coming out?
in 2-3 years when dacia will do the first facelift.
@@hoody3758 In the meantime they don't fix glitches based on a feedback from customers? For 2025 model for example..
We will get a software update this month and I will make a video after the update and keep you posted
@@DusterCoolTravels Great, thanks for your honest reviews👍

Never buy a car with its most useful features in a tablet.
@@eliasloozen7948 engine is plenty strong for the 4x4
You're speaking of an armrest like it's something bloody essential. I've done 80,000 km on my current car, and it has zero armrests left or right. Also did 2200 km in two days in the winter once. Real winter. It's an old Toyota van, rear-wheel drive, no electronics, no ABS. You need to decide whether you need a workhorse or you gonna be annoyed by hard plastics and shit like that.
Is the ac meant to come on no matter what the fan level is at?
Yes
Electric parking brake are always Stypid.
If those are the biggest issues I can live with them :))
Me too😅
if your park brake does not work - visit service
Motor , cutie totul ok? Mulțumesc
That’s all ok!😅
Da, o sa vb mai pe larg despre asta cand o sa fac review la 5000 km
all these annoyences are going to get old really fast....
I was considering Duster but no thank youuuuu

Really trivial comments in this video. All these things do not amount to much.
Many of them seem to have been solved in the new Bigster.
Dacia are going in the right direction FAST, and have taken all of the things from their partnership with Renault.
I have a Captur from 2013 that has served us well, and will be ordering a Bigster quite soon.
Good choice with the Bigster. Let me know when you get the model💪
Crappy motor is annoying
First world teething problems of a new model which is not unusual
Never buy a brand new model for this reason
So reliability as expected for a cheap car and brand? That's hilarious how the parking brake won't work above a certain degree, if you live in a hill you can't buy this car.
Yes, indeed the parking brake on steeper roads is a problem. Besides that, i really like it on the day to day use. With all the automation I never need to actually press it😁
Put me right off Dacia now
Thx for review i wanted to buy this car but now i won't
Most of the problems will be solved in a few months. So if you don’t want the car based on these problems you will regret not getting it in a few months 😁
I only hate 1 thing about it: the whole car once you get past the pretty design. Total crap.
Annoying.. This is a new car, with new features couses new problems. They added assistance not because someone ordered it, but it's obligatory, so they also included a button... To turn them off, because they had to be on every time u start the car... This is typical Europe an beurocracy...
the turn off button is a great idea, I really like it and it helps you gain time to turn off if you don't use all the driving assistance features.

i take it as a compliment 💪😅
@@DusterCoolTravels 👍😋
The problems with multimedia you are talking about appear in all users of the new duster. This proves that the manufacturer is consciously selling an underdeveloped car. I wanted to buy this car but I won't.
I think every problem of the multimedia system can be solved with a software update. From my understanding, we will get one this month
That's what every company is doing. If an issue can be fixed with a later update after the release it will be delayed to give room to more important issues, like e.g. getting EU certification etc. The question is only how effective Dacia will be with their updates. And whether they happen OTA or you have to visit a dealer for it.

My only complaint is the automatic lights are too sensitive and come on off to often
