    Hi Nobby. A new car for approx €20,000 that can do a 1,000kms on s full tank of diesel. If ever there was an argument for not buying a new electric car for literally €1,000's more and all the hassle with charging, then this car is it . I know , saving the planet , but some of us just can't afford to or it's simply not practical. Diesel still has its advantages. Now , I'm off to have a vegan lunch , in a woolley jumper , looking like I've just gone through a tornado. But don't tell anyone I'm driving a diesel...😇

      It's going back tomorrow with almost 800kms in the tank. 200km round trip Friday, 4 goes of the M50, some city driving. Hard to argue, it really is.

    The Dacia brand is a brilliant brand, as is Renault of course, but you just have to admire just what Dacia can achieve with their phenomenal cars. The Duster is exceptional value for money when you consider just how much car your getting for let’s face it, not a lot of money. Well done Dacia. And well,done Nobby for another no nonsense car review.

    The are simple and do every job you will ask of it. Its amazing that cheap cars are under threat because of the new rules on emissions. The govt are clueless when it comes to how people get around and we don't all live in a city. My mate has a top spec id3 and i have a duster he could have had three of these things for the price he paid for that car. Great review.

    • @konczk
      @konczk 2 года назад +1

      The shocking part is, the id3 has an equally cheap feeling interior for triple the price. I have a Duster at home, but drive an ID 3 at work. I can't complain about those hard plastics in a duster, but it feels galling in a car that costs three times as much. The seats also feel better made in my Duster than in the base ID3.

Any idea what the automatic gearbox is like? Buying new at that price gives you a few yrs of warranty cover. 2nd hand more up market vehicles may give you a headache. Cheers Mark.

    Initially I was interested in the price. After research and seeing so many in France and Germany, I really like the car. I could replace my Polo with a Duster. I am not keen on SUVs, but need to get a bit higher than the dazzle zone of modern headlights. The diesel fuel economy is attractive, and I have heard how impressively quiet they are in the street. I favour proper insturments to an LCD driver display, and not many other cars still have this.

    Driver's head injury on frontal impact was fatal (red colour on graph, red means you're dead), so they need to improve some safety areas. If they can do that and keep the price down, I'd recommend them to my nieces etc for a cheap first car but not as they are now.
    Also in the side pole test the car was damaged more than any other SUV I have seen in the last 2 decades, and that was just at 32KM/HR. They need to add some strengthened anti intrusion bars in a couple key spots and that won't raise the cost that much so they CAN do it. The side impact test result was fine but you could see the car was at its absolute limit and anything faster would have ripped the pole through the centre.
    Edit: spelling.

    The spare wheel is under the car on the 2WD and in the trunk on the 4WD just fyi. As far as I know some trims don't come with it, so you have to get it as an addon.
    I just put in an order the other day. Waiting time is six months which sucks but a few of the other cars I was considering had up to a year waiting time because of the chip shortage so... Otherwise, I sat in the car, drove it a little, and.. liked it. I'm not a car nerd, I just got my license a year ago and really just wanted a car that's useful in that it has a big enough boot and takes me places. After driving an old used car for a year moving on to a brand new car with everything I need AND not breaking the bank would be awesome.
