Great video, we've just bought an 18 month old Duster in mint condition, you're right about part ex prices too, we part ex'd our 2018 Sandero for a great price, which made our eyes pop. Our Duster is finished in black metallic, with all (well most) of the bells and whistles. Rear tinted glass, Infotainment, rear camera parking and the rest. We'd been looking forward to buying a Duster for ages, we now have our perfect car (in our humble opinion), it's big, looks like a beast, it's comfy, quiet, got great pulling power, cruise control and speed limiter too. The electronically controlled steering makes driving a breeze. As you say in the video you get everything you need, and nothing you don't. I agree, simple (or minimalist to some) is Dacia's strength, and yeh we love our Dacia Duster. Cheers.
Ordered my first ever BRAND NEW car in November 2021; an Arizona Prestige BiFuel Duster. Arrived two weeks earlier than scheduled in March 2022 and is now 1 year and 1 week old. I’ve covered 18,000 in it so far. Last year when fuel prices rocketed (unnecessarily!) I calculated that I’d saved well over £1,500 on fuel by using the LPG option. When petrol was nearly £2 per litre, I was paying 72p a litre at my local Asda. I was saving upwards of £50-55 per tank! I get about 420miles from the LPG tank and nearly 600 from the 50ltr petrol tank. I don’t drive fast (60 on the motorway). It’s a very smooth ride and I love how I step UP into the cabin. Handles beautifully and has LOADS of room. The boot is an absolute Tardis. The car cost me £17,200 with all the conveniences such as blind spot warning, 360 cameras and parking sensors, heated seats and wireless Apple Car Play, etc. ‘Scratchy plastic’? My wife has a VW T-Roc with the same decor. I bought this car as my last opportunity to get hold of a new car before retiring/going part time and intend to drive it into the ground. With the Thüle roof box I can now fit my family of 5 and every item of camping gear for the weekend. (Massive 8berth Vango Airbeam and washing sink!). Would I recommend the car to anyone? Well, a couple of things to bear in mind: there are one or two wee quirks about mine. When winding down the front windows (all windows are electric) the outer window squeegee doesn’t always clear the dew off the window. Strange rubbery squeak from somewhere in front… there’s a minor, almost unnoticeable engine rattle which I’ve learned is a turbo ‘washer’ (or something) but a an engineer explained it was harmless and unimportant. Doesn’t bother me, tbh. When you read or view reviews on these cars, they almost ALL sing fro the same, revised and regurgitated hymn sheets: ‘poor N-Cap rating’, ‘scratchy plastic’, ‘slow acceleration’… etc., but you’ll almost NEVER see a negative comment or review from an ACTUAL Duster owner! How curious!? 🤔 Honest John surveys last year in 4 of their actual owner surveys found that out of over 10,000 samples, Dacia and Lexus were the top 2 manufacturers for customer satisfaction and reliability. You can see the tumbleweed drifting in front of your screen when this gets mentioned in reviews.. To buy or not to buy? I LOVE my Duster! It is special as it is the first ever new car I’ve owned, but I’ve driven scores of cars, had several old Triumphs (4 x Mk3 Spitfires, 2 Dolomites, 3 Heralds and a TR4) among many ‘modern’ cars and it is singularly THE nicest and most comfortable I’ve ever driven! (Did I say I loved my Duster?🤔) ❤
Brillant video Matt, as a Duster owner 69 plate you've hit every reason why I purchased my 2nd Dacia '' 1st a Stepway Se Edition''. I love them, very reliable. 🚙🚙
Great review!....I've had my Duster Prestige bifuel 2022 a month now. I've owned a lot of cars over the years but have to say my Duster is one of the best if not the best. I love everything about it.
With my 3-week-old 72-plate Duster, this makes the third Dacia I've owned. The first was a 15 Sandero Laureate then a 21-plate Stepway. Love the Dacia range.
Just ordered a Duster Extreme 1.5 Auto.. with styling, side step and protection pack! I could not believe how reasonable the price was including all the editions to make it unique. I’ve never been more excited for a car 😂 it may not be for everyone, but the simplicity and ‘old school’ feel to it was a selling point for me! Plus the customer service has been great! Can’t wait for it to arrive anytime now. Also, great video 🤘🏼
Great video! I'm receiving my Duster in a couple of months, here in Northern Spain can be quite snowy at winter so we think this is the best option for a family Cheers!
Great review👍, I had a 2013 Laureate when they first came out in Granite Grey 4x4 diesel Duster and now a 2021 (updated) Prestige Arizona Orange 4x4 diesel Duster, I cannot recommend these cars enough they do everything I ask of them including towing my caravan. They are very reliable, robust, cheap to own and great on fuel 56mpg.
Love my Duster 20 great car comfortable, reliable, sensibly priced ,and great looking it stands out please just keep it the same with a few updates. Would like a sunroof and electric heated mirrors but nothing else.
Great review!!!..... And THANK YOU for not mentioning "scratchy plastics", preferring to rightly say "easy to keep clean plastics"..... Simple, no unnecessary bells and whistles motoring... Cant wait for my new car to arrive!
Love my Duster 20 great car ,great price, and good looking like the thinking man’s Range Rover, please don’t change the styling. Anything extra that I would like! A sunroof and electric heated mirrors but that’s it! Love your videos keep them coming Matt!
Love my 66 plate diesel Duster, yes had a problem with ecu computer but it was fixed eventually by a very reluctant dealer after Dacia customer care got involved! But touch wood now back to being a great car👍👍👍
Tell you what... why don't you get off your arse and do one yourself. Then you can get some numpty like you to make some banal comment about there being no muzak.
Just ordered the 1.3 journey couple of days ago, We currently have a 14 plate Dacia access, Im assuming we will feel the difference? Only down side is it’s a six month wait 😱
@@smcmotorgroup Thank you. Sadly, in this day and age I’m surprised that the Duster doesn’t have at least 4-5 stars for safety considering it’s popularity. Here’s hoping that Dacia are able to plough profits into vehicle safety whilst maintaining practicality.
Top Gear spoke to the Dacia CEO all about the very subject here www.topgear.com/car-news/future-tech/dacia-boss-we-know-people-deactivate-lane-keep-assist-so-why-would-we-sell-it
Why don't they do an automatic diesel version with AWD? Looks like u can only get the automatic in 2wd. If they offered a AWD variant with a decent powered diesel engine and an automatic box I'd buy one but again it doesn't seem to be an option. I also like the jogger but again I would want it with the above specs. Please feed this back to Dacia and get this fixed... I'm sure sales would increase if the above specs were available.
Its a simple case Jamie that we wouldn't sell enough. Diesel is generally being phased out now as petrols are proving to far more popular. The cost to develop and engineer a new automatic gearbox to work with the diesel engine and 4 wheel drive system just wouldn't make sense from a business perspective for the limited numbers we would sell.
@@smcmotorgroup a petrol 4x4 with automatic transmission would be fine too if it had decent power output. Is this something that we can expect to see soon?
I agree on the Jogger automatic option. We just bought a 2023 Duster Journey Automatic, but we would have much preferred a Jogger as a family car, but we switched to automatic many years ago and we could never go back.
The only thing that causes me to hesitate about purchase of a new or second hand Duster is the 3* Euro Ncap ratings. It performs poorly in Vulnerable Road Users and Safety Assist secions. Equivalent Renault cars have 5* Euro Ncap ratings. Why the difference?
There was recently an interview with the Dacia CEO with Top Gear which I think answers your question for you. www.topgear.com/car-news/future-tech/dacia-boss-we-know-people-deactivate-lane-keep-assist-so-why-would-we-sell-it
It's small inside. Leg room in the back is rubbish.Who cares about scratchy plastic. Drives great. 3 years warranty and breakdown. Service schedule leaves a lot to be desired. All salesman are very annoying .
Yes you're right about the space but it's bigger than a lot of others and cheaper. I've just bought my second one this time with the 1.3 engine although my previous 90bhp was surprisingly nippy !
I'm very sorry it sounds like you got a bad salesman. If you read our reviews you'll find our customers very much like ours. As for stock it would appear you were lucky to get the model you wanted quickly. Unfortunately not all trims, engines and transmissions are available straight away hence people having to make factory orders.
