+mancave veteran .40 is my favorite. I've shot .45, 38 Super, and 9mm in competition and my favorite is the .40SW. My best shooters are my PZ 4, .40, my USP40, and my CZ75B 40. Invest in precious metals: Brass, copper, and lead!

Man, my XD40 has never given me a problem. It's the old original and looks like yours here, except that I have a Lasermax guide rod laser. These are just awesome to spend range time with. Great video presentation with by the way.

Thank you for the great demonstration on the XD 40. I loved the way you spotlighted the features and benefits on the gun. I loved the Steel sights, round in the chamber indicator, the handle grip safety and how it disengages the trigger safety and the charged weapon indicator on the back of the slide. The last thing I want to worry about if I have to deploy my weapon in a life and death situation is screwing with a thumb safety. The only safety I want one my guns is my finger and my brain. I love how you talked about the quality of materials inside and out from the Stainless steel mags to the guide rods. I now believe that the XDS is one of the best "Bangs" for my bucks. I have been looking at the Glock 23 Gen 4 and the Ruger SR 40/c. I think there may be a XDS 40 in my very near future. I look forward to more of your reviews.
I've had mine for years and still run it as my first line. Never had an issue, love the feel. The sights are solid and didn't come with any burrs straight from the factory like some Glocks I've seen. Glock must make too many now days to do a proper Quality control.
All ima say is I've owned probably 10 different glocks and never seen a sight break. Also I personally shoot standard glock sights well so I rarely change them
Great guns! I love Springfield armory. George Washington was instrumental in its formation. I have a 9,40,& 45acp. Built like a tank and always reliable. Now that the mod 2 is out the xd is even now affordable. Good video man!
Have you had any holster wear issues? Do you know if the finish is just as good as on the Glock? I'm hearing a lot about holster wear and some rust issues on the web. Also, just wondering where you bought your pistol. You got a great price/deal. I'm being quoted 450 to 499. Maybe that's what they cost these days. I live in SoCal too. Thanks!
Great Pistol, It has become one of my EDC Guns, Very Reliable, Easy to hide, With the right Holster etc. I had the Night sights put on, When I bought it back in 2006 etc.
Retired cop. Carried a Glock 22 for 20 of my 30 years. Bought the XDM .40 3.8. Great gun. Bought it in 2011, probably only have fired a couple thousand rounds through it. The trillium sites have not faded. Easy to clean. Only complaint is it is heavy to conceal-carry due to the amount of rounds it holds. Great gun!
Very good presentation! Ever had an issue with being unable to manipulate the slide? Just inherited one of these from a family member and the slide will not move back.

I was just buying a Glock 19X,and as I was they marked down the XD 40 to $300 so I went ahead and bought it too. I wasn't looking to get one, but damn glad I did. I love my Sig M17, ,& it reminds me of it. It fits in my Sig safariland holster which is also a plus.

Any black coated pistol in and out of kydex all day every day is gonna wear. Happens on Glocks Sigs M&Ps and most all other guns I've seen used in my classes. Just part of the price for the numerous benefits of using kydex holsters.

My first pistol was a LC9s and absolutely hated it. Got a xd40 and man does it feel good in my hands.

glock triggers feel like crushing sponges. the xd triggers are actually an upgrade compared to the glock.
