Great video! Very simple and easy, made it so easy to do. I just bought one of these yesterday and really like it. Now I have to clean it and it's a lot easier to takedown than I thought it would be, thanks!!
Just bought the same pistol off a private owner and needed to know the breakdown. Thanks for taking your time to do this as it helped me very much. Very well done and illustrated. Its an excellent weapon and I agree , much better than the over priced Glock.
Absolutly LOVE my brother XD40 4" service model. I've shot a lot of handguns including the glock 40 cal. The Springfield XD40 is a GREAT gun ! Reliable, Shoots true, Feels good to the hand. Just all around a great gun ! highly recomend any Springfield XD, but the XD40 4" service model Is just perfect in every way. Great video by the way too!
Idk if you're still around but I just bought the exact same XD40 as yours in the vid and its my first firearm I purchased it your video really helped me on learning how to strip it down so I can properly care for my new firearm. Thank you very much
i like that you explain how the speed loader actually works and i appreciate that i had no clue as i just bought this gun as my first gun overly excited and cany wait to go shoot it and get use to the trigger pull so i can prepare to use it for my job, thank you for this video as well as i now know how to break my XD down to clean it
Great video, so far I can't chose which one to get my daughter. The XD-9mm, the XD-40 or the XD-9mm Sub Compact. I'll let her decide once we get to the gun store. She won't have a problem shooting a .40 cal bc she's use to shooting my Ruger P-90 .45 & my Ruger SR 1911.
Thanks for the video. Lets start with saying i feel really dump. I have had the same gun as you for years, and love it and have had NO issues. But i have only cleaned it about 3 times with a friend that knew how to take it apart. So today im going to clean it for the first time in probably 2 YEARS. Probably 1000 rounds. I have taken it hunting so its not clean. But still NO problems.
Thanks for the informative video. I just purchased the same firearm that didn't come with a book on field strip so the first thing I did is look it up on RUclips and found your video. Good presentation.
My problem that Ive had since I bought my XD40 is that with 10 rds loaded in the Mags, the mag release Button needs to be pushed in with a pen or something else to release the Magazine, But when loaded with just 9 Rounds it will release the Mags with just my thumb pressure I contacted Springfield They check out the gun & told me to just keep loading it with the 9 Rounds & could not find any answer with the 10 rounds loading Release button problem I found this un Acceptable Answer from them etc. Just had to mention this while viewing this XD40 cleaning video thanks for sharing it.
Nice video but maybe you should title it "Why I like my XD and how to field strip them" First 3 minutes is what you like about the gun and why you bought it, last three minutes is actually field stripping. Just a suggestion.
I think I have an issue with mine already after I cleaned it When I pull the slide with an. Empty magazine and pull the slide it locks immediately and don’t slide forward know it does slide back and forth with no magazine.Dint know if that’s normal or something is wrong with my XD
I have the same weapon system, I love mine. Not gonna lie, watching you flag your hand so often was really making my butt clench. I knew you didn't upload a video of you blowing your hand off but it still gave me anxiety haha.
never never cover the muzzle with your hand before you have fully verified that the pistol is in fact unload at 2:55 and 3;04 you had not verified this. Rule one of safe firearm use. Always assume that the firearm is loaded. If you cover the muzzle and for example pull the trigger, the result is that you blow your hand off.

I hope you've been enjoying your gun, and thanks for watching my video, I'm glad you found it helpful!

Thanks for vid. Just picked one up and it did have instructions, but I'm more of a visual learner and well...RUclips hasn't failed yet.
I'm about 3 years late, but I'm glad you liked it!

Jose Duarte totally normal, that’s letting you know your mag is empty when firing.
varsity90 oh man thanks I kinda knew that But wasn’t sure thank you It cost me a lot too save for it and I was paranoid about it😂
Thanks!
Awesome video
I get mine in a month
Glad you liked it! Enjoy your pistol!
Good vid

I have the same weapon system, I love mine. Not gonna lie, watching you flag your hand so often was really making my butt clench. I knew you didn't upload a video of you blowing your hand off but it still gave me anxiety haha.
I prefer the Springfield over the Glock myself
Thanks for uploading this video bro, is this the same for the xd mod 2 45?
Thanks for watching! Sorry about such a late response but I believe the takedown should be the exact same on the 45.
thanks for the vid
Thanks for watching!
nice video! I hope to have one very soon...
Thanks a ton! I hope you ended up getting one!
thanks bro I never read the instructions inside the box
Good video next time label Review and field strip.
Clear and concise. Thanks. I tend to forget between cleanings how to strip my XD 40.
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Thx
arigato sensei
I think most of us Firearms owners refer to the safety thing in the back as a grip safety
Nice well lit video...
Thank you!
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Simple not too much talking right to the point
If ya don't want to listen to all the never ending talk, just start this at 2:58
Show and tell ends at 3:30 …
I was gonna get a G 27 too but fuck it XD 40 🤷♂️😂
Wow, takes forever before showing how to field strip. Should title field strip and review...

03:20
Xd life story until 3:40....
