You are spreading the wrong history.
The Mughals did not destroy the city.
It was the Deccan Sultanates which broke away from the Bahmani Sultanate which the Vijaynagaras defeated before.
    Please correct this.

I have watched all the six videos on Hampi. Thanks for the videos which are very informative. All the six videos have one small mistake. They say that the Hampi structures were ruined by Mughal attack. Actually, it was not the Mughal attack. It was the attack by Brahmani Sultans, who ganged up on Rama Rayalu. Brahmani Sultans were later defeated by the Mughals.

Here is the summary of information from Wikipedia: Vijayanagara empire was conquered and Hampi was looted in 1565 by Behmani Sultans/ Deccan Sultanate comprising of Independent Sultans of 1. Ahmednagar, 2. Bijapur, 3. Golkonda, 4. Berar, and 5. Bidar. In the battlefield, two Muslim generals of Vijayanagara Empire turned against their Emperor. Mughal Empire later conquered each of the Brahmani Sultans / Deccan Sultans one by one: in 1596- Berar, between 1616 and 36 - Ahmednagar, 1686-87 - Golkonda and Bijapur (including Bidar which was part of Bijapur since 1619).

This was a very helpful video. Since I was trying to understand how the city of Vijaynagara looked, to help remember better for my exams. Although, I would like to point out that the destruction of the Vijayanagara Kingdom was not due to the Mughal Invaders, it was because of the armies of the Sultans of Ahmednagar, Bijapur and Golconda who destroyed it during the Battle of Talikot. Except that, the video is wonderful :)

As a result of Tallikota war in 1565, fought between Vijayanagara kings and Bahamani sulthans, Vijayanagara kings were defeated and the entire city including the royal palace and other residencial buildings were destroyed by the invaders. But the religious structures were not touched by the Bahamani Sulthans because their army consisted of 60 percent of Hindu soldiers.

The Malligi Hotel in Hospet is amazing. Stayed there last Fall and am going back right after Christmas. Breakfast is included and very good with lots of buffet selections.
I'm not sure if there are hotels in Hampi due to the Gov. wanting to make it a historical place to preserve and protect the buildings and Temples and keep business out. I may be mistaken but that's my understanding.

There seems a small distortion in this video, about the Lotus Mahal! In some videos, it is NOT 'Kamal' Mahal, but 'Kamla' Mahal. 'Kamla' means Lakshmi, and not Lotus! I think this needs clarification! Further, this building is also known by the name 'Chitrangini Mahal'! This must have been the actual name of this building, while, later the modern archaeologists might have named it as Kamal Mahal because of its shape!

There is so much of wrong information in 1 video alone!!
    1. Mughals didnt sack the city (local rulers because of their own rivalries)
    2. There are many temples in royal center and the sacred centre (over 60 to be exact)
    3. Lotus mahal was most likely used as council chamber.... just to name a few
Please double check the facts, as these videos are not just about tourism! They are about India's history and culture. Otherwise very professional video which I would have been happy to share as an educational/ informative video, if not for these major errors.

@@MrXYZ-mx5bj No it were sultans of bijapur, ahmadnagar and golconda. The bahmani sultans were already defeated by 1520's. Subsequently there was a rivalry between the new formed smaller states and older vijayanagara empire. The reason for a counter attack by all three was Aliya Raya's (Vijaynagara) plan to conquer these regions by pitting one power against the other.

Please don't use the word "
Zenana Enclosure", even if it is being used by the ASI!
"Zenana" is a Muslim word, while Vijaynagar city was never RULED by any of the Muslim rulers, it was only DESTROYED by them! So,
"Zenana" word could never have been used for these buildings! Secondly, in the Lotus Mahal also, you call it a mix of Indo-Islamic art, because of its arches! It has been proved many a time that arches were NOT introduced in India by the Muslims, arches were there before them also! So, in a city never ruled by the Muslims, how can the use of arches make it an Indo-Islamic architecture? Please correct your facts, before posting any video, please don't distort facts, because of which it has always been said that India was made civilised by the foreigners! Also, 'Indo' is a geographical term, while 'Islamic' is a religious term. Please think twice before using such terms in the videos on Indian history, please avoid distorting Indian history!
