Through all the storytelling I was worried the if images would be underwhelming.. thankfully I was wrong!! The final outcome was amazing, condensed and thought provoking.. credits to the photographer, crew and the royal family.. 👏

...oh WooW, this fotograph at the end is stunning Art! Great Doku. SLICE - thank you! 🙌🌸
Damn now I have to watch the whole thing
Landed in Rajasthan yesterday and getting this recommendation today by RUclips. That's a good start to my trip.
i won't recommend you to its not a tourist place this isn't even a palace its just a haweli
Well that's a town in ajmer district!
My mom was born here !
My nani is 83 amd she is sleeping in haveli cause tomorrow she will wake up to go to farm
Her normal life since 60 years :")
just think how Google is tracking you!
india is a land of with so much history that yet half of it is yet to be known to the world but the fact that the people of the land are only unaware of this is very disheartening.
Thanks to this channel and the picture shot by him is wonderful
the whole team did justice to it as a Indian I am very happy and proud to know this history
Every single frame captured so beautifully and a Phenomenal picture at the end, Brilliant!!
Brilliant!!! Incredible feast of form and content,,,thanks to all involved in this rich experience you've given us, your viewers!
As Tarnicles has commented below: The 'words written in Arabic' at 6.24 are actually a Hindustani/Urdu inscription (written in Perso-Arabic script). It reads : yeh mahal Ilahi Bakhsh kareegar (craftsman) ney tayyar kiaa samat (samvat) 1941 ( trans.: this palace was built by the mason Ilahi Bakhsh in the year 1884 CE).
It's so amazing that the Maharaja hired a Muslim craftsman or mason.
This mason must be one of his loyal subjects.
As the Maharani has described, his descendant Sadik is still serving the royal family.
It also looks like there was nobody there who was able to read the Urdu script.
Rajputs had mostly very friendly relations with Muslims, the tradition continues till date, even today in Rajasthan you will find rajput youngsters almost always have a Muslim best friend. Sadly with wahabi and salafi influence, radical Islam is gaining grounds and naturally as a reaction more conflicts between Hindus and Muslims.
Every photo has a story but not many of them can show their journey. This photograph really captured generations. Loved it and brilliant work 👏
Are you somehow related to Prashansha Samdarshi from Mirzapur?
@@abhishekghosh4384 No idk them
@@muskanranjan9443 fine, thanks. 🙏
@@muskanranjan9443 as far as a I know, people with the surname "Samdarshi" are from a common ancestor, isn't it?

I loved this so much! Such beautiful people. I wish for them years of joy, blessings and prosperity!
Very interesting story. The Royal Palace is elegant .The Royal family is really nice Raj vamsh of Bhinai. Best wishes from Hyderabad
Im so glad I came across to this through RUclips recommendations. It is nice to know a part of culture, tradition and life stories of certain country or people.
I give this video 10 out of 10 .I enjoyed the history lesson as well as the awesome way in which it was documented
2:01 It's "She was burnt alive." Not "She was born to life."
"She burned alive"
She burned herself
Sati was based on choice of women not every women did that
what a lovely photograph , a powerful one. Telling alot of stories in one.
Fantastic work by Nicolas. The concept was superb and the power of chiaroscuro was well utilized. India is a great land, combine it with an eye, like that of Nicholas and the results are breathtaking.
I didn't want this one to finish...incredibly creative and respectful
The royal family is so regal. Sad, the palace is not well maintained. Nice filming.
A very nice and pleasing , informative episode of Bhinai by the professional Slice Team.
Enjoyed thanks.
And my friend, this is India..

Don't waste time fighting each other ☺️
This documentary is speechless ❤️
India is a diverse landscape full of surprises at every turn
Phenomenal picture just a still image that tells us the vast and beautiful history of Bhinai, really magnificent! , props to the Nicholas for executing an an amazing piece of art. 😍☺🤯👍👍👍
The family just gorgeous. Beautiful
Amazing 👌🏻 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻
My god, what a golden recommendation by youtube.
Simlpe, soothing, beautiful, pleasing to eyes, mind soul and to the heart.
Just brilliant, wow.

That Maharaja was on the sigma grindset before it was cool.
Yeah I think it was Bhagwatsinhji Maharaja of Gondal. A true gentleman and servor of his pupils. This story is interesting but less about eccentricity and more about his national pride tho (he went to showroom wearing a dhoti I think).
@E REX Sean you don't know it mate , we do
@@reedhamkalariya6976 it was nawab of bahawalpur and idk who you mentioned above

What a gem I feel privileged to have seen this. My respects to the Royal family I pray now the curse has ended. May your fortunes be blessings. Thank you to the people that videoed this the creative compassion you show for your art is to be respected also loved the result. I am not Indian but was touched by this.
What a piece of work
Just in one photo he explain whole story of past , present and future of rajmahal
Sati was a cruel harsh ruthless act forcibly done on widows.
This video is good example of rich is getting richer and poor is getting is poorer.
Cause rich gives job to poor , and poor is so poor can't even create own jobs and without Rich poor wouldn't even exist
I just want to say that in most cases sati was not voluntary. Many woman were forced into doing it.
There are very few cases of sati in India like 1 in a million cases compare that to the witch burning trails in America which was like 1 in thousand at that time.
you know invaders used to rape women , capture them and use as sex slave , they also sold them in markets , and many were tourchered too, and if they dont burn their body their dead body will be raped , and they cannot trust others to burn their body they servants can be bribed to preserve the body for invaders , now just imagine you are one of her subjects and some barbaric invader is raping your maharani's body (dead /alive) in the open infront of all the subject , also there were many traitors who would want to use maharani and their daughters to legitimise their rule so they cant aford that too , also most troops who were loyal to the royal family died fighting with maharaja but some of the traitors would be still present in the palace and no loyal troops to protect them they have no choice but to die a dignified death so their body is not at display
ans some did out of emotion and love for her husband
Loved every bit of this video. Masterpiece!
Sometimes i feel that kings were way more better than todays politicians. We were the richest nation under the kings. Democracy is a myth.Power and money matters everywhere.Atleast kings used to understand their duty toward people.
U r sooo wrong ..i can't believe someone actually believes this
Get out of cartoon network fantasy ...lol
@@hujongmenon2643 I think u are in fantasy world of democracy. Everyone from beurocracy to top level politicians are corrupted. MP ,MLA most of the time neglect local issues and problems . People don't even get clean water ,good roads.Women aren't safe because law and implementation of law is not appropriate. This is our democracy. I feel like constitutional monarchy is better alternative. Its my perspective.
@@hujongmenon2643 Everyone has their opinion. Some people like democracy , some like monarchy, some like communist regime, some like constitutional monarchy like me.
Kings and queens were much more loyal for their people from today’s politicians. I have heard that when the maharaja of Marwar died nearly all the Marwaris living in the country shaved their heads. This was the respect in them for their kings.
Wonderful to see you Jahanvi aunty...what an amazing video. Nostalgic. May God bless you and the family always.
At 0:40 an old man bow to this woman feet , I know she is princess but common even in now the 21st century, the old man is like her grandfather's age. Still some people are so proud with their caste and family titles.
Yeah so? Got a problem with that? Cry about it.
Loved the fact queen put that family photo next to her from stairs thats a way of respecting in india💖
Absolutely wow..the story & picture about this royals amazed me. Thank you Slice & RUclips. Keep up this good work.
6:23 these words aren't written in arabic language. They are written in urdu language and they read 'Ye mahal Illahi Baksh karigar ny tayar kiya 1941'.The translation of them is 'This mansion is made by mason Illahi Baksh in year 1941'.
This was very creative and the final picture came out to be beautiful ...Nice job 👍
At 11:30 he was talking about maharaja of alwar Rajasthan, jai singh prabhakar who put 6 rolls Royce to collect garbage in alwar.
That was a pretty decent job...
Love from India
Love the final photo. It looks so avant garde, a fantasy.
The woman made the whole SATI tradition sound complicated.
It was. Wrong but it was complex. And some (maybe a lot) were forced and not doing it could mean social ostracization.
Exactly most of the time the widows were forced to perform Sati because it became a tradition by then.
It is complicated. Before 2500 years Sati was a choice. From 1000AD to 1700 AD Sati was performed so that women don't end up in a Mughal or Nawabi Harem.
@@richardv9648 Burning yourself is never a choice. Its either force, brainwashing or manipulation. If girls were raised into believing that Sati made their lives worth it, it was never really a choice.
@@twoshakesofaratsass4748 Why they choose to burn their selves? The Islamic invaders were too cruel. They raped the dead bodies too.
I am so glad i was recommended this channel. Finally RUclips recommendations are working, like they should!
Funfact: Raja Udaibhan Rathore of Tanaji fame was the head of Bhinai. Unlike shown in the movie, he was an honorable who died performing his knightly duties of defending the fort.
One the best documentaries I have ever watched! That picture is so beautiful and powerful gave me chills!
Rajasthan is a very peaceful place. I wish to have a house there one day.
