In America and in other Western world countries, there are both government and private programs that address such problems.

I found this fascinating. The spectical, the contrasts, of it all. Traditional gestures that are centuries old carried out in a traditional manner. It must be difficult for the younger generation because they have to know how other people live around them and the world.
I think it must feel only like a burden on them. They have to live with the guilt that what their ancestors did was clearly wrong and now they have to depend on the legacy of those same ancestors to earn their dignity in the society. Quitting is not an option for them.
