In my tribal culture, the women are told that you raise your boys not for yourself, but for the family in which he will provide. Meaning his bride and children. The man goes to live with the brides people as their children inherit the clan from the mother. The women send their sons away, because we inherit no land or home. We only provide.

They published a video related to India but no one is using the word 'poverty' in the comment section. However, I should immediately make a negative comment by using the word 'poverty' about them. Because I don't have the ability to do more than that. Anyway, I feel better now by making a negative comment about them. I also feel that the negative comments are from people who don’t understand the importance of tradition and culture in this ancient culture. Take an honest look at life in our country if you’re looking for real poverty, inequality and unhappiness. There are deeper values than Walmart availability. Our opiate crisis and general health care costs and homelessness are symptoms of these lack of a cultural basis. Just saying…

‘People who don’t understand the importance of tradition n culture in this ancient culture’….tell that to the Dallits….tell that to the women who r born into n kept in the prostitution class…tell that to the generational ‘slaves ‘ still paying off loans their great great great grandfather owes to the ‘landed gentry’….there is a lot about India u don’t seem to know about…as to REAL poverty, inequality n unhappiness in ‘our’ country, well, said circumstances ocurring in a nation of 1 billion, STILL stratified by a CASTE SYSTEM, welllllllllllll….as to the Walmart values, most Indians r not earning enough to shop at a Walmart…n the few that own the wealth r more Cartier shoppers….drug use, welll, “With around 100 million substance addicts in the country, India has seen a 70 percent rise in narcotic consumption in the past eight years. In what can be considered a conservative estimate, the United Nations has found that 13 percent of drug-abuse victims in India are below the age of 20.” (Nov ‘22 report)…as to homelessness, “Homelessness is a problem that is particularly prevalent in urban areas, with an estimated 85% of homeless people living in cities.
Most homeless people in India live on the streets, in makeshift shelters, or slums. A small minority of homeless people live in government-run shelters, which are often overcrowded and lack basic amenities.” Guess they r also having a ‘lack of a cultural basis’..don’t ?

When it comes to matters like arranged marriage, our community may have its own established practices that hold significant value. Expressing concerns about maintaining these cultural values is completely understandable and does not stem from any opposition to love marriages.
