@@saudfaisal239 This is part of what they try to do. Cover a simple matter in confusion and obfuscate something that is clear. Delay, Deny, Defend. I am really impressed by what I see here. The most important witness is the wife and she has already spoken. Case closed. Alihamdulilah.
@@tomiwa1a Are you stupid? In Canada this 'case' would never reach the point where it appears before a court. I can also guarantee that the judge isn't going to beat a confession out of you.
Did they solve them though? I didn’t hear any evidence just very unveiled threats of beating and one guy physically getting whipped until they presumably confess. And in the woman’s case her autonomy wouldn’t even be brought into question in the west lol
Cases also took a very long in the court system of the previous government and also involved bribery often. That is why some people living in areas under the control of the previous government and their justice system, would go to Taliban courts in Taliban controlled areas to get their cases resolved quickly.
Captions are not acurate. They said women should coperate(live in unity) with husbands not "obey" husbands entirely as husband may command something immoral, etc..
Thank you, the original translation was upsetting as that is clearly not Islam as defined by the Quran and the example of the Prophet Muhammad. Your translation is inline, which makes one wonder if the mistranslation was done intentionally.
Yeah, I just love the no due process. The part where evidence doesn't matter at all and verdicts are rendered based on a judge's emotions alone. What a great system.
In “civilised” nations, the process of obtaining justice is itself a punishment. It can take years of gruelling court proceedings and a fortune in money to resolve disputes, wading through Kafkaesque bureaucracies and incomprehensible legal jargon. This means that the mechanisms of justice are not available to the underprivileged people who can’t afford lawyers who can navigate the system on their behalf. Thus, law becomes another tool for the powerful to keep their inferiors down. Whether or not you agree with the actual values, principles and laws of the Taliban, it’s nice to see an accessible way of doing justice.
@coolbuddydude1 have you ever been charged in a court of law under US law ? For example say you had a fight on the street and instead the next guy charges you for assault ?
I deployed to Afghanistan for all of 2007 and spent considerable time around Afghans in their villages. I have a great admiration for their culture, despite it being so opposite of my own American culture. The producers did a phenomenal job bringing to life places, sights, and sounds I once was immersed in. This is a great documentary that touches at the heart of Afghan culture and what it’s all about.
I agree, very nice cinematography. They let the people speak mostly except when they ended it off with the "women are not given human rights" lol. The Judge was explaining that the Wests idea of human rights doesn't align with the human rights Islam gives. Classic orientalism.
@umbrellastudio7481 you're the clown here, because if you did see the video you would realize that's exactly what the judge said when he said the choice is up to the woman.
One doesn't need to be a genius to discern the bias evident in this channel. The selected music creates a Resident Evil atmosphere, and the manipulation of people's emotions and perspective through strategic montage is insanely dishonest. What a shame.
Very interesting and if only one word comes to mind then that is - RESPECT, because as quoted as such: "Every country has a body of laws and a way of living". This is so important to understand. Thank you for this video.
yes and no - a society is not a static entity, making it about a "way of living" ignores the fact that the Taliban are a specific political force who enforced this specific court system through violent means
I've been twice a defendant in Sharia courts in the Middle East, once defending the interests of my company and the other time, personally, following a minor car accident. In both cases, I had to swallow my logic and pride and take a loss with a small "l" rather than risk a big "L" on appeal. On the plus side, it was quick and cheap (no lawyers), and the fine was miniscule.
Islamic law is based on Logic and Justice and wisdom and I don't know exactly what type of court you are talking about where you have to swallow your logic

We must leave the country and people to get on with their own affairs and sort themselves out, because foreign interference only sets back the justice and stability that we claim to want for them
A nationalist mindset is not open minded and it's not going to help anyone progress. If we allow every Islamist organisation or other radical organisation to turn every other country in the world into a shithole, we must expect hundreds of millions of refugees who want to live in a peaceful, open-minded world. Tackling global problems like mass migration or climate change is only possible with a global community. Not "leaving other countries to their devices".

New Yorker should thank Taliban for letting them in. USA still has Afghanistans money frozen in federal reserves.
The fact that westerners Zionists try to oppose sharia law is because it’s against their interests.
Women rights are an excuse to keep Taliban being hated by people who follow the mainstream media.
you don’t hear media tell you: Even though USA has sanctioned and frozen most of Afghan assets, still Afghan currency did better than US dollar recently.
No, its just muslims being muslims.
Amazing cinematography and the message is delivered beautifully ❤ , An absolute masterpiece.
A 100 years ago in my village in Morocco, things were like that. People would meet in regional weekly souk (market) and discuss their cases; when they can't agree they take it to tribe leader. The tribe leader is a person who pledges allegiance to the king and controls the military and have punitive power.
This system usually works in distant places where government institutions aren't established and people can organise each other outside the bureaucratic process.
but does he have islamic knowlegde?
@@justicefighter2023 nop, his goal is to project power and keep people in line. That's way most people kept their problems to eachother and solved them with the elders.
This was the case for whole of europe also. Before christianity and states. In fact here in sweden we hade a similar court system as you discribe. It is universal for all people around the world when there is no government and centralization. Perhaps this system is more effective and non corrupted.
@@MohammedYASSINE Judgement without knowledge of Islam, is like hanging on to a cliff without a safety rope!
Eventually, you lack justice, which is the whole point of Islam; stand with the oppressed and speak with truth...
sounds like 100 years ago your tribe of neanderthals were far very behind the rest of the world.
I am happy to see truth and justice prevails all the time
@@Pierrespere-vm5oftotally wrong interpretation of Sharia law👎
idiot
Most , criminal justice system is devised corruptly to earn revenue .....Justice? You get justice in the next world, in this world you have the law. - William Gaddis.
AND EUROPE KEEPS LETTING THEM IN. CLOSE THE BORDERS
Big shout to New Yorker channel for visiting our province ❤
Real justice dont need lawyers or attorneys only if the person is disabled and can't speak for him/herself
One thing ive always loved about traveling is that no matter what country you go to... Birds sing
Even the bird was caged here. No singing.
In cages.
The woman rights were respected and justice was on her side, wait what!
At least justice is swift under Taliban rule. Those simple cases they dealt with in this video could take years and cost millions of $ in other countries.
no BS , quick and direct to the point justice
This was shot so beautifully with the light and shadows and the facial expressions...
It’s like watching people before the wheel was invented
Well as he said in the beginning, every country has their own set of laws...let it be.
I live in Oregon now. Before 1998 the apartment complex I grew up in back in the Bay Area had a lot of Afghanistan kids. I’ve never known any in Oregon, but I never forgot them or their culture. This is the first time since I was a child that I’ve seen something so intimate regarding Afghan culture. I’ll be thinking about this video for a while.
We must leave the country and people to get on with their own affairs and sort themselves out, because foreign interference only sets back the justice and stability that we claim to want for them
But all the west tried to do was give Afghanistan democracy.... I'm joking of course
Afghanistan was never going to abandon radical Islam the Taliban or sharia law, that's the issue. But ideally the country would not be run by such an antiquated worthless system.
What about when they come to EU? Should we leave them to "get on with their own affairs and sort themselves out"?
Thats because that wasnt the real motivation. A certian tiny country wants its enemies wiped off the earth. They hate western nations more if you can believe it.
cinematography of this documentary is amazing.
No wonder the people of Afghanistan welcomed Taliban with open arms!!
