PLANS & WHAT IS LEFT FOR R2: Plans: I'll continue to do TFD videos as I have been, but I will probably look for another game to start playing alongside it. R2: I'll still maintain the website, but I'm not doing any more build videos. Why? There's a balance patch later that would invalidate any builds I make right now, and I hate repeating myself even in videos when that might make me more money, I just hate it guys. I understand why they pushed the balance patch to after the DLC so they could focus on its development, and I support that decision, but the inevitable result of that is someone like me, feeling like I do now about it. This is a sentiment none of you should share with me, it should be unique to me, which is why I didn't mention it in the video, it's just how things panned out.
I do hope to see a few more R2 build videos from you after the balance patch, but if this is it, thank you. I have enjoyed your "no bullshit" approach to making content for one of my favorite game series, and hope to see other games I might enjoy later on
I vehemently agree with everything you have said. The first game delighted me just like this one after so many games leavimg me kinda meh, and I won't just reiterate what you have said. So just know you helped me start to enjoy and get a bit nerdy into making builds for this game and others, As well as the delightful trucks and secrets of this world. I think one of my favorite things is it feels like the world is deligted as well when you discover some things. My pure joy when the awakened king was baffled and enraged by my hubris in wearing so much of his and his family's gear and the dagger that 'killed' him. I never felt as cool and immersed as when he reacted to what i thought was a sneaky slight against him.
Sad to hear you won't be doing builds for R2 anymore, as I absolutely loved the goofy ones you came up with. But very happy with how much you enjoyed the games - R1 was my favorite game of all time, until R2 came out. Glad you enjoyed, and hope to see you in Gunfire's next title, whatever it may be
Thanks for all the builds, Vash! I spent hours grinding for the items to make the Crystal Staff build, and I just finished the new DLC on Apoc with it and I loved it. I might check out some of the other games you are doing builds for now, because I just enjoy your build breakdowns so much.
Mudtooth is coded to tell you 9 different options on where he went if you can meet the requirements for his "endgame" conversation when he gives you the Snake Oil concoction. I think the devs themselves just gave up on explaining that one lmfao
yea thats my main complaint as well, particularly with the dlcs. I wish the dlc was a whole new planet that took 30+ hrs to complete rather than just a couple hrs, i would easily pay $25+ for that shit.
@@curtis5799 or more remnant 2 dlcs they did say now that new worlds are introduced they have an endless playingfield here so long as they play their cards right. So sure either, we get a whole new expansion for R2 with new worlds to uncover. Or we will have to wait for R3 which i don't mind either way. Love remnant so if we get r3 eventually, i'll be happy!
My partner has tried to get me into these types of games before, and this one was the first to really click for me. Then, your knowledge passed along kept me locked in! Our friends and us have since made tons of memories over this game. Thanks for the wonderful videos 🖤
To add onto the exciting randomness, there are actually a couple more layers! 1) In addition to any guaranteed loot, every overworld and every dungeon has at least 1 skill point placed somewhere random and 1 new item from a pool that can ONLY be found by finding it randomly on the ground. It incentivises fully exploring areas even once you've played long enough to know all the puzzles and places you need to go to finish each area. A lot of this loot is extremely good, too, so it's not just throwaway random loot! 2) Every dungeon and overworld has a chance to get one or more "injectable events" that are basically rare secret areas with a cool puzzle and really unique loot. They are placed into the area based on the type of terrain; for example, the Yaesha dungeons with an underground-temple-themed terrain have a chance for a wall to be replaced with the "Waterfall" injectable where there's a room with a waterfall and a set of torches around a suspiciously blank wall. The wall is an illusion that leads into a whole underground area with two minibosses and a really powerful item that makes all your bows and fusion rifles way better and easier to use. Between the random loot pool and rare injectables, it's still exciting to play with friends and have those "ooh look what I found" and "ooh we got ____ which I've been looking for for ages!" Also there is an endgame bad luck protection where the boss rush mode guarantees rewards that you haven't earned yet and pulls from every single reward in the game. So once you've got your fill of the worlds, you can finish off your collection and earn metric tons of upgrade materials to put together new builds!
Your video , narration and content is top notch. But for a first timer i subbed the MINUTE you shared your passion for builds and the lengths you went to make it accessible to all. Subbed for life my guy.
The amount of legendary prism effects they added just added years of grinding to this game. 45% bonus to all damage, 75% ranged damage boost, your second archetype can also use its prime perk, to an 1 additional summon you can have. It’s crazy. I want so many of these effects on other prisms. I can see myself expanding upon so many of my Loadouts. It’s okay if we don’t get more builds, it’s time for the students to use all the things their Remnant teacher has given them lol
We need balancing tho, cuz people like to say that it's stupid to nerf things in pve, but it's just a matter of feelings and I get it it feels bad to see stuff you like getting nerfed. On the other end, the feeling of demolishing every boss in 15 seconds is not great either, and my friends and I very much prefer a medium long fight than a 15 seconds 1 dodge fight thanks to all these busted grindy legendary prisms
@@jordanporcher6051 Most of the nerfs are bugs and glitches that cause massive damage scaling. The builds that kind of break the game on accident due to unforeseen player fuckery are bound to get nerfed because some are just broken as hell. Overly nerfing stuff into the ground is kind of disappointing like the Crit Bleed builds, it melts mobs but bosses its incredibly slow damage.
Yeah I hope they nerf legendary prisms or even rework the whole thing cuz I grinded the game enough to get all the items and maxing every weapons I'm done @@nocturnal101ravenous6
@@jordanporcher6051 How about a fix to reset the prism and not require it be to 51? I've tried with 3 different prisms after borking the slots but all it does is reset the experience bar, not the prism. I had to wait until 51 for one to get it to reset.
Your DR videos really halped me understand the game mechanics and how to make a build that got me through my first Apocolypse run. Thank you for all you've done for the community.
I made a post on reddit about the emotes not having any audio sometimes and how much i love to use the emotes. In which kinda ruined it and bummed me out a bit. This was before the patch. They now work perfectly every time, and I'm enjoying this game almost all over again, helping people figure out secrets with nothing but emotes! I like to think someone saw it and it got fixed. I had people commenting its been an issue since patch and to not expect a fix. I say good day to you sir! GOOD DAY!
what a fantastic channel i just stumbled upon! also, holy shit this community is lucky to have you?! you created a build calculator all by yourself. you mad man!
I've never attempted to interact with their community team, but I have stumbled over some Reddit sections where they seem to have people who do communicate with the player base. Great video, by the way. I picked up Remnant 2 for free on PS plus a few months back and 300 hours of play time later, I still can't believe how much thought, effort and goodwill they've poured into this game. I don't want to describe it as an overlooked masterpiece, the game is a commercial success that sold a ton of copies, but I do feel like a lot of player/non-critic reviews for the game reflect an extremely shallow experience compared to what the game actually has to offer.
One of my greatest bits of enjoyment throughout all of this has truly been the passive aggressive nature of your build videos. The monotone sentence “If you have a problem with the fashion, you are cordially invited to eat my ass” was burned into my lexicon from the moment I heard it.
This game was a blast and coming back each dlc over the year has been a treat not many other games have been able to do that, I’ll miss the hilarious game breaking builds you make and I’m looking forward to what gunfire cooks up next
Even if you don't make any more R2 videos, you will always be appreciated for what you did. At the start I had no idea what I wanted to play, and I'm really not that great at shooters. I wanted to keep up with friends but be able to enjoy the game. When I saw one of your tank videos some months back, I figured this would be fun and I should try it. And sweet baby jesus it saved my relationship with this game. I have so much fun tanking and healing now that not only can I hold my own in a style that works for me, I am THE reason that we have made it through some bosses on Apocalypse with me saving their glass cannon asses. I still use your Healer/Summoner Crystal Heart build from time to time because I will never die. Except Trapper circles. Fuck those. Anyway, dude, you are the reason that I started to enjoy the game, and your tools are the reason I will continue to do so. In whatever you do, I will always appreciate you.
It amazes me on how well you explain your actual personal view on the game and even make sure to include the obvious things that I myself have also had a problem with and it good to know I’m no the only one who has dealt with the issue
What a fantastic video. Very fair on the pros and cons. The "fire hose of player complaints" got me. It's so hard I think for some folks to realize how hard it is to work with feedback, and what truly helpful feedback is. I appreciate all you've done for the community, and certainly hope this isn't the last we see from you in Remnant 2!
Sad to hear about no more build videos but I understand where you’re coming from. Thanks to you you’ve provided me with tons of fun builds (especially the unkillable ones) R1 was a huge favorite and knowing R2 was coming excited me. I stumbled across your channel and boy you didn’t disappoint. I love your humor, the way you go into deep deep detail about why you pick what you pick and explain it. Most R2 content creators DONT do that and you definitely point that out. So thank you for everything! Love TFD videos too. Pisses me off “popular” RUclipsrs took your recent Kyle video and “made it their own” I get that’s the RUclips life but god damn you did the hard work and the vultures are stealing it. Edit: the person I was referring to did in fact link your channel so please disregard that. My fault for typing that before re checking.
Without a doubt, one of the strongest parts about Remnant 2, is if you are new to the game it will not take you long at all to obtain power to play with friends who have over a hundred hours in it. I absolutely love that fact, because often times games will ask a large amount of time from the players to catch up to their friends, whereas Remnant 2 is quick. When I first started playing it only took me about a week of playtime and I was running Nightmare and Apocalypse with my buddy and having an absolute blast. Seriously, if anybody hasn't played this game, give it a shot and especially with friends.
Remnant 2 is an unapologetic masterpiece, that's not a word I use often, but it's appliquable here. One of the things I care most about it effort on the part of developers, for instance, most of Destiny 2 exhudes low effort, whereas everything in Remnant 2 lets you feel the effort that went into it, you can tell with every new release that it was built to be as good as possible, not just to sell something with as little work as possible.
I think it would be a masterpiece if they added intentionally designed worlds that featured all the drops. As it stands the randomness mechanic wastes so much of your time I can't see it overtaking games with static worlds. I felt the first one was pretty mid, and while this improved I believe that doubling down on the randomness aspect of it really detracted from the overall experience.
@@jonathangedeon9958 It adds infinately more replayability, I played Dark souls 3 for 40 hours, and that time was excellent, but I haven't touched the game since, Remnant 2 has kept me hooked. As for random world drops, you can now get those from boss rush instead if you want, not that the loot's all that important. The only really frustrating thing about the game for me is the stuff that requires co-op, and certain random events like getting Red Prince in the Forlorn coast. But without the randomness, we wouldn't have multiple stories per world in the same way, and the game would be worse for it.
Fun fact you actually can load into multiplayer games from the start screen as long as you are joining from something like a steam invite. Also I think the technical limitation that makes you load into the world to be able to join someone is due to how multiplayer is setup in regards to the limitation of not being able to join a hardcore game without a hardcore character. I'm mainly guessing that this is the case because back when the game came out if you directly joined a player (ie through steam) you could join a hardcore world without being on a hardcore character, but if you loaded into the game and tried to join using the ingame join methods it would not allow you to bypass the hardcore restriction.
Ye I was aware of steam but I dislike that there was no option altogether in the regular menu, small gripe, but alas. And ye maybe on the hardcore aspect I guess
@@VashCowaii If you link an Epic Account you can join from the start menu. All your friends linked to your epic account will pull up there and you can jump straight into their world instead of logging into yours first.
when i read the comments about the dlcs of this game on steams page im always amazed at how people will complain about not "enough content" like a new zone, a new boss, a new class for like 10 bucks. Thats an expansion and exactly what we should get out of dlcs, i pay 10 - 15 for digital skins all the time and a skin is nowhere near that level of work. Games like this deserve all praise
You showed me how fun the buildcrafting was on this game, and it literally made me understand how important damage mitigation is. Funnily enough it made me go back and buildcraft more in other games that i play like elden ring, which im almost on thousand hours, d2 with prismatic too, so much more fun on games because of one dude, thanks vash!
Great video dude. I hope all the love the devs have received from the community will motivate them to create something even more engaging, with their future releases.
I love your melee builds. All my melee builds are based on your videos. I learned so much from you. Noone does it better when it comes to survivebility and great melee builds. I hope you change your mind and do a few more melee builds after the patch drops. Thank you for everything you have done already! 🙏 You are my favourite Remnant 2 content creator! 👍
I beat this game with my cousin and brother when it first came out. We even played on new game plus and farmed a bunch of things back then. We all bought the super edition or whatever that gives us the entire dlcs too, but we decided to not touch the game after the final dlc comes out. We are about to play this game but got so lost lol, apparently there are a lot of fundamental changes, and lots of new progression systems. I think we will just start a new game (from scratch) to just re-experience the entire game, along with all the dlcs and updates as a single package.
I thoroughly loved Remnant 1 and 2. Very special games in todays age. Can't wait for 3 whenever that happens. I wish the coop experience was a little more seamless in general. Specifically the boss rush mode does not work well online. None of my friends play anymore and solo just isn't nearly as fun for me.
thanks for this, man. I haven't played the game yet but now I definitely will. I had been feeling very similarly to how you described yourself feeling before playing this...
The SMG you get in the starting zone didn’t spawn for me. I asked several times in different places, never receiving any response. Others have experienced this. Do you know if that’s fixed? It sucked to jump through hoops to get it and find an empty room.
There are not enough thumbs in the world for this post. Fantastic video. I really feel the same about Remnant 2. One of my favorite games, ever. As far as gaming goes, it’s a masterpiece. Hope they do a Remnant 3.
When I started Remnant 2, I played with two other friends. All 3 of us started in the 3 different areas. I got N’erud which made me not fully understand how awesome the game was at the start as it felt desolate. After I hopped in my buddies worlds I realized how crazy the game was going to get and it made it me stay till the end. I’ve dropped over 100 hours on one character and i’m still playing. Even to this day there’s stuff that I missed when we first played that made me fall back in love with it after taking a break from its initial release. Haven’t been able to play the dlc yet but I watched my friends play and we got to try and find the secrets as they played so i’m excited to get back in the game when I’m back home
Also the dlcs introducing more to each area and adding intricate new secrets was so awesome. The crimson prince armor set instantly became a favorite and now I’ve unlocked the crown to top it all off
OOh I have been waiting to see if you'd make a remnant 2 video after the final DLC drop. I'm not disappointment either, it was nice to hear your thought on it. You did the good Remnant 2. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into mathing out this game and sharing the fun.
no, thank you, your deep dive into stats and descriptions has help me a lot in making my own builds, although i didn't know you made a website, thanks for all the help, tips, calculations, and comical smartass delivery of said info, all time favorite phrased is Fxckbusted from your melee build video
I love this game too! It's so good so was Remnant from the ashes! Sad that the last DLC is released but really hope a third remnant will be made. Thank you for putting all that time and effort into the website - I discovered it today and have not personally got the time to test everything so it's an amazing resource, much appreciated.
The best thing for me personaly was when Gunfire Games mentioned you in one of their patches cuz of your video where you found the bug that healed bosses and trolled some random players with it xD There is no greater honor.
Well damn, I have a queue of games that I can't wait to play, and this will now go to the top of that list after ready or not. You explain very well why remnant 2 rocks.
Liked the video and the analasys you made. I understand your reasons, still sad we wont get a quick boss rush build. Your builds are the best online, but you probably already new that.
Everyone on PC is going to get a treat. It's called Beyond Hell mod and not only private jack survives but he's going to be the archetype which will have exclusive drip.
i remember tragic saying in an interview something like "i hate replaying a game i finished, so i wanted to make a game that will never be the same no matter how many times you play it, a game i would love to replay" and like, sure probably it was hyperbolic, there are so many dungeons a world can have still this game is REPLAYABLE before this last dlc i had 200 hours and i got almost everything combine this insane amount of things to get, with the pretty solid combat and an even more insane degree of very viable to outright cheesy build options that's some really long high quality time you get from this game
I've almost completed a solo run, and I'm just slowly savoring it. I don't play all the time, but I have genune fun every time. Actually glad I got the season pass as well. That's the rarest and best sort of praise I can give a game in 2024. I thought gaming was becoming abysmal because I'm approaching 40. But this game (and a handful of others) prove to me that it's not games that are getting worse, but rather the vast majority of modern ones. That's an objective opinion. Got the itch again thanks to this vid. It's so good.
I gotta say, this game was the first time in years that I actually felt like I enjoyed gaming. One of the prime examples that not every game needs an extravagant end game. Some games you just simply beat. I replayed it again and again for a different experience and to optimize my gear. I stopped because I felt like I was accomplished and not because I got burnt out on some random half baked gameplay loop
6:10 Couldn't agree more. I actually think the writing for the main plot is _really_ bad. Same for the character writing for the main players of the main plot. The world-stories though, are actually fantastic. Genuine literary quality writing.
Does anyone have any other game recommendations that have a huge build/playstyle diversity that you can play with friends (like remnant's level of build diversity)?
Remnant is one of my beloved games after discovering it early this year. I started playing with another buddy of mine and had a blast the 1st day. I enjoyed the challenge but my friend did not and quickly bailed. It was a let down because I often stick it out in games that other friends enjoy but rarely have experiences playing co-op with others. It’s like I’m destined to solo games most of the time, which is fine but I wish I got to experience remnant co-op. Even now I can’t do boss rush co-op because my NAT type (?) is moderate according to the game, but when I test network on console it reads as open. Unfortunately when I join lobbies in Remnant I automatically disconnect due to network errors. I should just take the hint at this point.
13:57 Man this thing drives me up the wall. The apex of this stupidity is exposed when you're playing with two friends, and you decide to change from playing in one friend's game to the other. If the other friend leaves to go into his game so you can help him get an item or kill a boss or whatever, you *can not* just join the other friend's game from the friend's game you started out playing in: you have to go through the process of leaving your friends game and starting your your own game, for no other reason than to be able to access your friends list so that you can find your other friend and join him. In the grand scheme of things, though, strange stuff like this is easily forgivable because, until I found Remnant 2, I'd mostly given up on hoping to ever again find a game that'd been made for the sake of making a good game, rather than for the hope of making a fat profit. It's what companies like EA and Ubisoft utterly fail to understand: there's often a delicate balance between putting in the effort to sufficiently flesh a game out, and mass appeal.
Can so relate to the start of this vid with my discovery of remnant from the ashes. On release we’d just had disappointments from battlefield 5, anthem and fallout 76 and then this double BB studio game came out and it was fantastic
man, i loved following you from those initial days of EHP testing until now. After becoming a "numbers" guy and enjoying it, I would highly recommend Path of Exile. As a former Destiny 2 addict, I cannot stress enough how impressive PoE is and has been for over 10 years. Please give it an honest shot. Build Crafting - 12/10. Reasonable grind and valuing player time - 9/10. New Player Experience - searching-for-things-on-RUclips-and-the-wiki/10
What I think this game did right... They were ambitious, but kept their efforts and product realistic. They had a vision and goal, and made it. Instead of trying to cram every new thing into it just to appeal to a wide audience.
Still can't believe this game exists. It's just so unapologetically good and overflowing with passion and skilled development. And they charge you a nice upfront price and say enjoy a wonderful game
I've been on the fence about it when it released last year but decided to let it bake in the oven before jumping on. With the current sale, guess this is the best time as any after that video. Thanks for the recommendation!
I adored the first game. It was the game that got me interested in soulslikes. So when 2 was announced, and it was the base game and all the dlc for about as much as a triple A game, I had to have it. I dont regret it for a moment Edit: I also see Tragic semi frequently on the remnant subreddit. I've occasionally seen abother dev or two. Including one who asked me about a bug I was encountering
This is the game that made me feel like a gamer!! I'd never played through any soulslike cos I generally gave up too quickly. But I played through this game multiple times, and even beat Apoc difficulty, something I'd never done in any game before. It's beautiful! It's rewarding! It's brutal! It's dark! It's funny! It's honestly the best game I've played in a really long time.
One of my favorite things about Remnant 2 is that the game isn't afraid to hide things. Archon is a prime example; they planned a piece of content that would only be found by Dataminer. Sure, it makes the game kind of impossible to 100% blind, but Remnant takes that and makes sharing information with other players the intention, and I really like that! I also enjoy a certain puzzle in The Dark Horizon (SPOILERS AHEAD) In said puzzle you have to write down the code you see and return one hour ago. Sure, you can come back and do it tomorrow OR you can just change your system clock back an hour. Sure, maybe they didn't expect you to just turn the clock back an hour, but considering how thought out Archon was, I am 100% willing to imagine they wanted people to do that.
When remnant 2 launched it was literally my favorite game of 2023, and the game i sunk the most time into. After wasting nearly 2 months on diablo 4 just for the devs to make everything we worked for functionally useless for season 1, i un-installed and nevwr went back, but i didnt need to because for like 4 months i couldnt stop playing remnant 2. I had already loved From the Ashes, so the sheer amount of extra content in R2 was a gamer's wet dream. The gameplay loop was enjoyable, the various glitches and bugs were funny and fun at the same time, and the amount of secrets to unlock and the high end game builds were all great. But i think the bad extends WAY further than you explain in the video. The game scales everything to your level, so after your first playthrough or two, everything WILL be level 20 or higher, and your weapons? Well they are level one, and as you get them they will be level 1 as well, so while the game may seem like it wants you to try out some new weapon as you get it, you cant because like you said the cost of upgrades and certain items is so high that you realistically only get to upgrade a few pieces of gear before being gatekept out of upgrading the rest without needlessly grinding A LOT! the devs claim they hate the live service model, but my god if Remnant 2 doesnt require more grinding than most of the live service games I've played in the past decade just to try out different gear and builds. Secondly, with the introduction of the final DLC and prisms, the devs ended up erasing like 30% of the old relics and replacing them with new ones. In doing this, they never compensated the players for the relics that were erased, and everyone is well aware rolling for all mythics took a FUCK TON of relic dust. Oh, well they had the hand dupe glitch to make relic dust, oh actually they patched it so now you HAVE to get the dust manually. Well at least you can still XP farm the prisms to max by eating your friends NOPE! they patched that too. You want to try out new prism and relic combinations? You best enjoy grinding boss rush infinitely, a game mode which got boring after the first 3 or 4 times beating the 19 boss gauntlet on nightmare. And that only levels your prism 1/4th of the way to max assuming you didnt reset it with fusions which youre definitely doing, all while dropping small pittances of relic dust that may give you 5-10 rolls at dwell when youre done, which all will just craft into 1/4th the dust you spent because it attempt to roll you a relic you already had rather than take them out the pool, especially now that feeding them into the prism is how you skew the stats that will roll. Its all absolutely fucking stupid, and needlessly grindy. The reason the grind in warframe is fun is because youre constantly grinding for MORE GEAR or MORE CONTENT! In Remnant 2, by the end of DLC 3, youre grinding needlessly for progression, which is boring and absolutely horrible game design. Most abhorrent of all, its a strictly PvE game. There is NO PvP at all! So WHY do the good builds need "balancing?" Why did the glitches that helped alleviate the extremely boring grind need patching? Part of what made From the Ashes worth playing for so long was the endless amount of traits you coumd spec into while making yourself a walking harbinger of death. In remnant 2? You can't do that. The devs are litererally TELLING YOU how to enjoy their game, and im sorry but that's not what a good dev team does! People who want the challenge will seek it. People who wanna be OP deserve to be OP if they build for it. The devs have no right dictating how players enjoy a strictly PvE game, and then making a slog of a grind to be true end game after already sinking 500+ hours into a non-live service game just feel terrible. Finally, about the community outreach, while they have a few members that will interact and answer questions from players, it really doesnt feel like they care what the players have to say. One of the MOST REQUESTED FEATURES for the game since launch was survival mode, which gives a theoretically infinite amount of replayability to the game just like it did for FTA. The devs even responded in a reddit AMA last fall that plans for a survival mode would be considered and they would like something similar for 2. 3 DLCs later and did it happen? No! Did something similar happen? Again no. People may argue boss rush is similar, but its really not. The difficulty level is fixed and if anything it gets EASIER as you progress due to the buffs you accrue. Also, you wind up using the same builds youve always used. It doesnt force you to experiment or give you a chance to try out gear you never had before because you couldnt afford to level it to max. At the end of the day, the devs ignored player wants in order to "try something new." We're not reinventing the wheel here. Theres no reason the game cant have both survival and boss rush, but the fact they teased a "wave-based game mode" and it was this after player expectations? It was like Blizzard asking us do we not have cellphones. Touching on another facet of community outreach, the devs seem pretty vehemently against backup saves, seeing as the game was prone to corruption at launch and still they never integrated a backup feature (something Pocketpair did with palworld after about a month). I lost my 50+ hour hardcore world to a texture bug that glitched me through the floor, and when i reached out about it and reported the bug, i was still basically told "sorry, but theres nothing we can do." And still a year later, if you want to backup a save file you need to use the remnant saveguardian which is a 3rd party application to do so. It just seems ridiculous. And don't get me started on Optimization. Even TO THIS DAY you need a certified NASA supercomputer to play this game at 120fps. The fact it was developed to NEED upscaling is stupid. They could have just optimized the game We are already sinking a lot of time into the game, dont treat us like children. Alas, gunfire games has actually managed to lose my respect over the past year, despite starting 2023 as my favorite studio due to how well they handled previous titles and communication. Now its like they're slowly treading the Bethesda and Blizzard route and i dont wanna see how that ends for them.
The Remnant series is my absolute favorite. Remnant: From the Ashes and Remnant 2 are just soooooo fun. I haven't been able to play the most recent DLC though because I'm busy with college, and I am also dreading getting back into it now that I'm so rusty lol. Can't wait to play soon and 100% it like I always do 😄. Also I'm def gonna have to make some friends on discord because none of my irl friends play this game unfortunately.
Hey. Id be down to meet up on disc and play. Most of my friends also dropped the game or are busy. Feel free to reply if your interested, and we can see if we click :D
I absolutely love this game and hope we get one more free update that brings in the survival mode from the first game, but I won't hold my breath. I'm curious how they will design Rem3 as a lot of people have been requesting a more open world, Elden Ring type of experience.
Came for the masochist tank build, stayed for the other riduculous stuff youd come up with. Your builds helped me get through my first apocalypse run and what helped me get to a point where i help my friends through apocalypse runs. Cant wait to see what other games you break next
My biggest issues with the game. A: I do miss infinite trait points, though I can understand adding limits for build diversity, some of the traits are so useless that they should just be passive. And while they did fix some of these (looking at you movement traversal trait) I wish there was a few more points for the main stay traits that are in literally. Every. Build. B: While I think the DLCS overall were pretty good, story wise and sometimes secrets wise, they felt rushed or like they just didn't care. There was no big story DLC like 2923 from remnant 1 that made the story so much better and there was no new worlds especially when the base game re-used Yaesha as one of the big 3. Other than that this game was phenomenal and 1000% worth the money,
Friend had me play this game since it was on game pass, and I did reluctantly because I hate shooters and this didn't look appealing to me at all from the outside. But holy smokes was I mistaken. What an incredible game this is. The worlds are so insanely imaginative and the execution is to be praised. I usually hate this kind of shooter setup with the asymmetrical third person angle but no, it's fine and everything feels fun. The rings, pendants, classes, etc. all of it is awesome. I kind of wish there were more armor options and customization with them-especially with this being a 3rd person shooter and very co-op friendly-but that's really okay. I hope the devs get everything they need to continue making whatever they want. Whether it's a Remnant 3 (fingers crossed) or whatever. Love this game.
too bad about the builds, I was looking forward to seeing more broken tank/medic stuff. But I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the builds you did make! :)
Hello Vash, I would like you to make one last DLC with the root world and extend the Lore of that place, thank you for your videos, they helped me a lot
1,000 hours is how much I've spent on Remnant From The Ashes survival mode alone. Then comes along this awesome Richie guy who's well known in the community and makes a really cool survival mod, so there goes another 250 hours.
Prisms absolutely have two major random elements to it. Even by following strict guides to get the exact loadout you want, your enhancements don't always fuse. You can invest dozens of hours in grinding only to find that your fourth enhancement didn't fuse, or get the final enhancement and none of them are the one you want.
Not gonna lie the smile you can hear in your voice on some of the points was super endearing, actually makes me want to try the game with some friends. Great video.
Your voice and delivery reminds me so much of Joseph Anderson, legendary dark souls critic video essayer, pleasant voice for like long videos, might be a thing if you're interested in that stuff
I don’t like making long videos, it’s draining lol, and reviews are more so. Not to say I won’t consider it, but right now that sounds like death. Glad you liked it though, I saw your comment about is it worth playing and chuckled pretty hard while I was working on this but didn’t wanna tip my hand just yet
@@VashCowaii just bought the ult edition on sale cuz I have a backlog collection problem but tfd 10 oct is around the corner and wanted something to do, hasn't quite gripped me yet but we tread on
I do not know if this is a clear REASON as to why you don't join friends on the main menu, but you use to be able to in Remnant from the ashes. Actually, that was the ONLY way to do it. However a few weeks ago I got a friend to try out FtA, and while trying to join him the game just wouldn't let me. I had made an entirely new character for this, I couldn't understand what was the problem. Come to find, down the road, that it was because I had a Hardcore character as well, and for some reason they just blocked me off from ever playing with anyone that isn't also in hardcore. I do think there could've been an easier way to resolve it, like let us choose the character we want to play in the multiplayer menu, and then it can decide from there if I'm okay to play with anyone or just Hardcore players. But maybe this was their solution in Remnant 2, to just make it so only by entering your character's world will you be able to choose who you can play with.
Great video, but Im not quite sure with the multiplayer thing, me and my friends play on steam and I was able to join their worlds without having to join mine first???
I'm aware of being able to join through steam, but a game shouldn't need to rely on joining through steam. That's the point, that without it you HAVE to load into your own game first before joining someone else
Remnant from the Ashes is my favorite game, I really like Remnant 2 and love the design of Losomn which looks like Bloodborne's Yharnam 2.0. But I'm a little disappointed with the last DLC. The Boss Rush feels like a sellout. Apocalypse in the boss rush is comparable in difficulty to Veteran in the campaign and you get gifted items that you previously had to spend hundreds of hours questing for. In my opinion, Remnant 1, even with 1000 trait points awarded, was much more balanced than Remnant 2, where only tanks run around on higher difficulty Levels. Not to mention the fact that with Reisum you had an additional biome…. I hope that one day Remnant 3 will be released with Yaesha, Rhom, Corsus, Losomn, N'erud, Earth, Reseium, Labyrinth (and maybe a new biome) and better balancing. PS Danke Vash für deine tollen Videos!
I couldn't agree more. The dev team really lost my faith in them over the past year, from nerfing everything into oblivion, changing the fundamental functions of certain gear to "balance" it, reusing Yaesha AGAIN for like the twelfth time as a DLC expansion, and refusing to give players their most requested game mode, survival. All while gaslighting us and telling us it's to make the game more replayable. I'm sorry but I had no desire to replay the game after half my builds were nerfed into practically useless and being told I need to grind the EXACT SAME CONTENT over and over after I've unlocked most of everything just to max out a prism no one asked for.
PLANS & WHAT IS LEFT FOR R2:
Plans: I'll continue to do TFD videos as I have been, but I will probably look for another game to start playing alongside it.
Would you be planning any builds for after the patch or is this it for Vash style Remnant Builds?
Even just uploading builds to Remnant Toolkit would be neat.
U left out alot of things wrong with this game.
I will miss watching your build videos I love it when you go in the math and it helps me make my own bulids so I thank you for that
I do hope to see a few more R2 build videos from you after the balance patch, but if this is it, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed, and hope to see you in Gunfire's next title, whatever it may be
Aye, I anxiously await whatever they do next.
Next title would be Darksiders see THQ stream trailer on 2 august and i hope for the fourth horsemen and that's Strife and he has guns. :)
Thanks for all the builds, Vash! I spent hours grinding for the items to make the Crystal Staff build, and I just finished the new DLC on Apoc with it and I loved it. I might check out some of the other games you are doing builds for now, because I just enjoy your build breakdowns so much.
No joke i wanna know what happened to ford ... Cuz in the story he just kind of fucks of into the void
Mudtooth is coded to tell you 9 different options on where he went if you can meet the requirements for his "endgame" conversation when he gives you the Snake Oil concoction. I think the devs themselves just gave up on explaining that one lmfao

nah. its the bag! remove it!
Between the random loot pool and rare injectables, it's still exciting to play with friends and have those "ooh look what I found" and "ooh we got ____ which I've been looking for for ages!"
Also there is an endgame bad luck protection where the boss rush mode guarantees rewards that you haven't earned yet and pulls from every single reward in the game.
"Years of grinding" yay? Haha remnant players are fucking wild.
@@jordanporcher6051 How about a fix to reset the prism and not require it be to 51? I've tried with 3 different prisms after borking the slots but all it does is reset the experience bar, not the prism. I had to wait until 51 for one to get it to reset.

I made a post on reddit about the emotes not having any audio sometimes and how much i love to use the emotes. In which kinda ruined it and bummed me out a bit. This was before the patch. Facts.
what a fantastic channel i just stumbled upon!
also, holy shit this community is lucky to have you?! you created a build calculator all by yourself. you mad man!
I mean millions of players clearly stated they wanted survival mode. Idk how much more clear the feedback could be.
💯💯💯
@@jonathangedeon9958 i love everything about the game, so i disagree.
It's slow drivel and I uninstalled it for memory space.
@VashCowaii on xbox I just use the xbox party invite system. My guess for why is if u have multiple characters
@@StupidAnon-gn8ihAnd it does next to no damage. Once ya get familiar with the game there's way better builds.
@@JohnDoe-pu5gk That's the joke. Root Doctor is far from unkillable, and the resonating heart is terrible for actual survivability.

You explain very well why remnant 2 rocks.
thank you for putting all of my feelings for Remnant 2 into words. genuinely obssessed with this game

I agree with every point you made, just such a great game. Sad that it isnt well known and that it doesnt get much recognition
Everyone on PC is going to get a treat. It's called Beyond Hell mod and not only private jack survives but he's going to be the archetype which will have exclusive drip.
i remember tragic saying in an interview something like
"i hate replaying a game i finished, so i wanted to make a game that will never be the same no matter how many times you play it, a game i would love to replay"
and like, sure probably it was hyperbolic, there are so many dungeons a world can have
still
this game is REPLAYABLE
before this last dlc i had 200 hours and i got almost everything
combine this insane amount of things to get, with the pretty solid combat and an even more insane degree of very viable to outright cheesy build options
that's some really long high quality time you get from this game
I've almost completed a solo run, and I'm just slowly savoring it. I don't play all the time, but I have genune fun every time. Actually glad I got the season pass as well. That's the rarest and best sort of praise I can give a game in 2024. I thought gaming was becoming abysmal because I'm approaching 40. But this game (and a handful of others) prove to me that it's not games that are getting worse, but rather the vast majority of modern ones. That's an objective opinion.
Got the itch again thanks to this vid. It's so good.
"A thing Isn't beautiful because it lasts." Sad to see the chapter close on Remnant 2. Equally so to see you moving on from R2 build vids, Vash.
The developer is still Gunfire Games. Its only the Publisher that changed its name.
Nice video. I can't help but feel weird that there wasn't at least one video for the new dlc. It was fun while it lasted, though.
See pinned comment for better info on why that is the case, it's just how things happened
This game is sooooo good and in such great shape with this final DLC; I’m having an absolute blast
Just reached Remnant 2 in my massive backlog, and it is indeed awesome!
I still dont have the damn Meat Shake.

Can you do a build video for the Black Greatsword? :D
This was my GOTY last year. Truly a masterpiece. Every planet is deserving of its own game
Please give it an honest shot.

i will buy the ultimate edition, today. thank you for the video, and btw your comment section is very kind.
What I think this game did right...
They were ambitious, but kept their efforts and product realistic.
They had a vision and goal, and made it. Instead of trying to cram every new thing into it just to appeal to a wide audience.
did they change it so you can progress your story in online games? Or fix matchmaker for that matter?
Still can't believe this game exists. It's just so unapologetically good and overflowing with passion and skilled development. And they charge you a nice upfront price and say enjoy a wonderful game
I've been on the fence about it when it released last year but decided to let it bake in the oven before jumping on. With the current sale, guess this is the best time as any after that video. Thanks for the recommendation!
I adored the first game. It was the game that got me interested in soulslikes. So when 2 was announced, and it was the base game and all the dlc for about as much as a triple A game, I had to have it. I dont regret it for a moment
Edit: I also see Tragic semi frequently on the remnant subreddit.
I also enjoy a certain puzzle in The Dark Horizon (SPOILERS AHEAD)
In said puzzle you have to write down the code you see and return one hour ago. Sure, you can come back and do it tomorrow OR you can just change your system clock back an hour. Sure, maybe they didn't expect you to just turn the clock back an hour, but considering how thought out Archon was, I am 100% willing to imagine they wanted people to do that.
Link for your online build crafter please? Thanks for the great review video. I'm a huge Remnant fan!
They could have just optimized the game
We are already sinking a lot of time into the game, dont treat us like children. Alas, gunfire games has actually managed to lose my respect over the past year, despite starting 2023 as my favorite studio due to how well they handled previous titles and communication. Now its like they're slowly treading the Bethesda and Blizzard route and i dont wanna see how that ends for them.
No one is reading through that novel.
@@JohnDoe-pu5gk then don't. No one cares about your response either.
On steam you can instantly join your friends from the main menu. I believe it must be an oversight for the other platforms.
thanks for the vid ! omw to download REMNENT 2. Peace
Other than that this game was phenomenal and 1000% worth the money,
Yeah the DLCs were kinda shit
Trying to do every boss hitless so I get stuck a lot but the bosses are so good 🙏
Friend had me play this game since it was on game pass, and I did reluctantly because I hate shooters and this didn't look appealing to me at all from the outside.
I dont know if its only possible on Playstation but you can join your friends from the menu contrary to what you say in 14:09
too bad about the builds, I was looking forward to seeing more broken tank/medic stuff.
Could you drop a link to this website?
Will there be any more dlcs or updates ?
Updates here and there sure, but they've repeatedly stated this was their final DLC
VashCowaii is incomplete without his beard.
