@@illegalbilly Even if it takes longer to reload I prefer Detonator on Widowmaker due to the hitscan projectile. It's something explosion builds can really benefit from having as a utility. You can also point-and-click bows instead of charging them and all ten stacks of the Detonator damage still go off.
@angelhood101 you could point and click bows and get the full 10 stacks, but bows really shine with charge speed and weakspot/crit bonuses, might as well use detonator on sure shot instead (although royal hunting bow is always fun no matter the dps)
Detonator + Widowmaker essentially gives us an explosive 50.cal that alone makes it A-teir in my book. I love running it with Starshot in my explosion builds makes me feel like an explosive space cowboy XD
Detonator might not be the most optimal mutator to use, but man using it in the redeemer is just so much fun There’s something magical about having every shot you take be an explosion. It just makes that gun feel more impactful, best choice for flavour by far
Redeemer in general has a very solid way of hitting the enemy. Not a lot of ammo per mag, but it is very smooth to fire off all the bullets really quickly.
In defense of detonator: This is actually a good mutator for melee builds. It adding flat damage instead of percentage means it's much more effective when the damage of the weapon its attached to is low, like in a melee build. This allows for respectable ranged damage to clear out flying mobs, something other mutators struggle with. I personally like it on repulsor, it perfectly kills the drone enemies in Nerud on high difficulties. Also want to say that battery is currently bugged, it doesn't count mod power properly when multiple mod charges are used at once (most notable on corrupted savior). Also its very important to note that Kill Switch can activate while in the middle of almost any animation since it is attached to weapon swapping. Rolling, sprinting, reloading, doesnt matter, kill switch has you covered. Any build that uses mostly their long gun should have this on thier sidearm, preferably a tech 22 because tech 22 is awesome.
Kill switch seems very lame at first. But get used to it and that mutator becomes more than valuable. Staggering an entire group off of you if you get in trouble is huge.
@SheenShots Agreed, I don't know how no one picks up on this. This was one of the earliest Mutators I ever got in my first ever Remnant 2 playthrough, and it carried me. I was often just killing stuff by swapping weapons instead of shooting, and this is on Veteran difficulty. Insanely underrated by most people.
@@SheenShotsproud of you man! Keep showing that #peoplewithDownsstayUp by continuously uploading these vids even tho you suffer daily!! You show em bro!
Detonator works for any gun that has close to 10 shots for that explosion on every shot. I.E. the Pulse has a magazine of 30 rounds and fires in 3 round bursts, so you get an explosion with every shot.
Yeah using skewer with a damage mutator and then helix rockets with spirit healer and Triage perk it just shoots up your hp making you feel almost invincible, especially with the using a mod shields you ring in the 3rd dlc.
Detonator is so much better than you're giving it credit for. Slap that thing on a single shot weapon and it deals as much damage as Slayer on weakspots, but will deal way more bodyshot damage. Plus you get the full bonus on the first shot and don't have to fire within 3 seconds of reloading. The only bonus slayer has over detonator is 15% reload speed which is easily squandered if you have to spend time aiming for the weakspot which is the only situation where it potentially outperforms detonator. The exception is sporebloom because 25% of one of those shots is a lot bigger and it reloads slower.
Any weapon with around 10 shots can make good use of Detonator. I.E. AS-10 Bulldog gets an explosion in almost every shot, the Pulse Rifle fires in 3 round bursts and has a magazine of 30 so it gets an explosion every shot as well.
I simply disagree. Tried it on pretty much every setup and other mutators are always better. Either way I am glad it works for you. But seems pretty bad on my end.
Failsafe becomes S+ tier when paired with the Prismatic Beam because it's the best option for sustaining the beam for more (unoess you have Power Trip) Detonator would actually be good in explosive builds revolving around Echo Chamber if i actually had a reason to shoot my guns.
Lithely C tier? Doesnt the ranged dmg buff apply to both guns? Can put it in on a shorty, hit to shots and reload, and have a constant +20% ranged dmg. Or am i missing something
The ranged damage buff does not apply to both guns. Only the gun you have it equipped on. (Just tested to be sure) And it takes a long time to stack Lithely without enigma hitting loads of enemies at a time. So it really only works for that specific weapon.
I’ve actually found dreadful to be really good on a variation of your gray Captain Build. I use it with bulldog and gets some seriously good DPS bc with the canine keepsake, you’re already stacking critical pretty high. Now if you have a god roll legendary prism, it becomes obsolete. But in the meantime, I would at least throw it in B
Momentum is actually better than Thousand Cuts. It's only a 5% difference in stats and Thousand Cuts is less reliable on most guns. You need a lot of fire rate, reload speed and decent mag size for Thousand Cuts to be active enough. Vs Monentum each stack counts down individually and can work with way more guns than Thousand Cuts can
For weapons with over 50 ammo thousand cuts is better. For lower magazine weapons momentum is better. I went over this in the last section near the end. Both really strong.
Yeah, Thousand Cuts is better but for some weapons, Momentum is better. I.E. in a perma Nightfall build, Thousand Cuts doesn't work on Nightfall from what I've seen but Momentum does so if you want to use that over Bulletweaver, then it's an option.
Superheated is pretty fun with the exhaust valve+tempest conduct+corrupted cube gun. Never exhausting your unlimited ammo weapon, exploding every 3 seconds and buffing your damage 😂. PS: a little note about top heavy. It works pretty well on cube gun, half well on corrupted one (it doesn't deal weakspot damage) and polygun, for their clip count as full always.
@@SheenShots that's right. And being overheated all time while shooting, the mutator activates every 3 seconds. With the correct setup, every explosion hits like a punch. A meme build 😂. A shame it doesn't work well with many bosses.
@SheenShots it sort of feeds into itself because of it's like 2-4 shots to recharge the crab mod whitch can be then fired which boosts the reload for the next 2-4 etc
If there's one thing I always forget to check in remnant 2 it's the mutators. For some reason I just always forget to upgrade and use them as I get them

Next is updated Sidearm tier list. For repercussion.... is there a weapon that pierces multiple enemies so it gets multiple stacks? Corrupted Cube gun goes through multiple enemies. Don't know of another besides that one that shoots it's own mod to make it explode
Nice to see you cover remnant too. You did an amazing job covering outward
Detonator works well if you want to apply expose because of that amulet. Just equip a small mag side arm apply expose then switch to your primary
Yup...crossbow with detonator slaps for no reason
Personally, I really enjoyed Detonator on Anguish; was a little surprised he didn't list it among weapons that explode outside of mods

Root shotgun and detonator are a beast. You can slap into a explosive build if you wish and its nasty! I beat apocalypse with that.
Spirit healer with an expensive mod swap build is the best source of healing period

I will not stand for the detonator slander. Detonator outdps's a lot of options in a variety of builds imo. Especially putting it on the AR-47
I simply disagree. Tried it on pretty much every setup and other mutators are always better. Either way I am glad it works for you. But seems pretty bad on my end.

Failsafe isn’t the best option. Prismatic beam on my build is indefinite. I could shot a range dummy for days and mod would never run out.
i was just wondering about this, nice

Corrosive rounds mods
Thousand cuts mutator

Updated gun ranking since the patch or does it not change enough?
It does change plenty enough. Especially after the recent buffs. Just gotta go test em all lol.

This was the best way to display the mutators. Unfortunanlty I can't name them out in the description as it would be way too many timestamps.
