Segata's previous life as a motorcycle riding cyborg superhero is a reference to act Hiroshi Fujioka's role as the first hero of the long running Kamen Rider franchise as Kamen Rider Ichigo (#1).

Fun fact: Segata Sanshiro's son took the Segata mantle and released an ad a few years ago.
Here's a fun fact about this fight: The sprite used for Chuck Norris is a recolor of the sprites for old Joseph from Jojo's, featured in the Heritage for the future game
What makes this episode great is how serious they take the fight and stats when it's just a silly matchup and the fight itself is very fun.
Fun fact: Segata was a guest in Project X Zone 2 (which is a Sega Bamco and Capcom crossover RPG).
He even met again with Sakura from Sakura Wars there.

I definitely got to see more of what Segata as a character is like, when I saw him in a 3DS game, called “Project X Zone 2”.
Him and his banter with other characters just made him so memorable.

We never had a commercial hero like Segata Sanshiro here in my country.. what a true hero. That was some dedication back then.

I think it would be a great simple video for y'all to watch. Also this is my third favorite Death Battle. Great reaction and glad y'all enjoyed.

@@kevine9474 Maybe or maybe not. Superman is also constantly going and comics develop more than anime. Superman reach a point where he is basically Limitless. Past few years a did a feat of smashing the Multiverse which not only includes his ridiculously Big Universe but also all those connected to it which are just as big if not bigger. Essentially giving Superman unlimited strength since DC Multiverse is supposed to be Unlimited. How do you go beyond unlimited. It not possible and that ruins the whole point of Goku character. Honestly the character probably going to be replace or reboot before it even gets there. Goku already close to unlimited speed. Goku going to have to have some hack ability. But giving him more hack abilities in my opinion also ruined his character. Like the super erase ability. Why would someone who wants a fight have a power like that. It ruins the whole point of a fight. Even if he did Superman can't be erase from existence anyway. On the other hand Superman a comic character. They always giving him crazy hack abilities. They probably give Superman the ability to erase someone before they give Goku.
Fun Facts:
This Death Battle teased Goku vs Superman 2 with that last frame during their punch before everything exploded. Goku vs Superman 2 then happened later that season
They are in Death Battle canon still going at it, in later Death Battles that happen in space there are a few times where you can see the constellation of the two fighting
I'm at least 90% certain that the Segeta they show for evidence that he is still alive when they show him crashing the concert was in fact the original Segeta's son. This happens a lot so I may be confusing Segeta with a number of other people who's children have replaced them as the character they played
This is one of 3 ties in Death Battle. First was Goomba vs Koopa Troopa, then this, and Scooby vs Courage. There is a fight that is technically a tie but it's a fight that you haven't seen yet so I wont spoil it
Technically 6 ties/draws, but I don't wanna spoil it.

I kinda like how the sprites they use for this fight are the most unoriginal memeable sprites possible. Chuck Norris is Old Joseph Joestar from JJBA Heritage of the Future and im pretty sure Segata is just the default Karate Man sprite from Mugen.
If I remember they recently brought Segata back in commercials in the last few years by introducing his son as the head of commercials with Segata eventually appearing.
this episode has cameo's in lots of future episodes in the background, the constellation at the end appears in alot of episodes
I love Segata Sanshiro especially in Project x Zone 2. His dialogue and part in the story is fantastic 🤣

Just remember when you finish watching the Buu saga of Dragon Ball Z you should check out the Hercule Satan vs Dan Hibiki Death Battle so you can avoid some minor end spoilers it has.
I still play an actual Sega Saturn to this day, but mostly for the Shining Force 3 trilogy. I guess it really was only popular to a couple dozen hand fulls of people 😂 Also, as absurd as this Death Battle was, yes indeed Chuck Norris has a lot of legitimate accomplishments in his life. He's like the Arnold Schwarzenegger of martial arts. Still, the general consensus is that Bruce Lee would've mopped the floor with him in an actual fight.
I love your reactions to these Death Battles. They're so fun to watch, and you guys are wonderful. Very entertaining, and very wholesome to see two people who are clearly affectionate and loving (at least on camera :p ).
Have you guys ever heard of Dead Fantasy? It was the precursor to RWBY, done by the late (and great) Monty Oum. It stars various female Final Fantasy characters fighting against various female characters from the Dead or Alive series, and it's amazing. I think you would really enjoy it, especially now that you have at least some grounding in some of the characters due to watching Death Battles.
Dead Fantasy 1-5 are whole and complete, and while 6 is incomplete, there's enough there for an enjoyable (albeit short) fight.
I highly recommend! Especially if you like the fight scenes in earlier seasons of RWBY.
I have other suggestions for after, assuming you're interested in taking them.

YES! This is one of my favorites! Glad you finally checked it out. If I remember right, the Saturn came out around the time of the Nintendo 64 and Playstation 1 period. But it was completely gutted in the US launch as opposed to the Japanese one, as Sega America were beyond incompetent with it. Honestly, go read up on the development and release of the Sega Saturn, it's fascinating and worth your time. It has one of the best controllers ever designed, too

I'm surprised that you never heard about Sega Saturn. It came out alongside PS1 and N64. It wasn't popular in America due to bad marketing, but in Japan it was super popular there. That's why Sagata became the iconic mascot for Saturn. Both the PS1 and Saturn out sold the N64.
The reason it's because both consoles have lots of third party exclusives. While the N64 relied on a cartridge to play games with. That was one of Nintendo's biggest blunders ever. I'll be even more surprised that you never heard of Sega's last console the Dreamcast that came out in 1999. One year before the PS2 came out.

The Sega Saturn aka Dreamcast was a great console with some great games for it..
I too had a Game Gear over a Game Boy! It was color, which made all the difference to me. I didn't have much on it, just Sonic, a Garfield game, and.....something else, I can't remember, and I was never very good at it, but I remember playing it.

The prevailing theory about the end of this Death Battle is that Chuck & Segata will continue fighting until the whole of the multiverse finally collapses back in upon itself...And then, in agreement that there could be no winner between them, Chuck & Segata sweeps up the last sub-atomic particles of inert matter remaining, turn out the last light, & close the door behind them as they leave.

I always thought that Segata was more than a cookie cutter version of a world warrior that was almost close to what Pepsiman does. And Chuck Norris as everyone and no one because of their feats on TV, even as cameos
I met Chuck Noris this year and I asked him to take his picture because I was afraid if I didn't asked my camera would explode and he laughed because he had not heard that one before, for Segata since Sega Saturn failed and no longer makes systems any more doesn't that mean that all of his powers weakened

I will say this; Chuck Norris is sadly not as awesome as his media makes him out to be. He's not just a conservative, but he's a far right nutcase who buys into various conspiracies, and even backed numerous anti-LGBT+ figures over the years, and he's just...awful.
However, this video and for a time even his jokes, are both amazingly hilarious time capsules of the era this death battle came out in, and while Chuck may be garbage, his characters and this death battle are not. They, at the very least, can be said to be glorious.
To elaborate; Chuck Norris is very much conservative in all the worst ways possible, and has said various bad takes, from gay people having no place in Boy Scouts, to various warnings about how apocalyptic an Obama presidency was allegedly gonna be, to even endorsing various anti-gay and anti-LGBT+ politicians over the years.
I bring this up because I want people to not get wrapped up in his awesome looking exterior, and to understand the man behind the gags. Its not just politics for their own sake, its making sure we have an understanding behind these famous figures.
I don't mean to be a killjoy or anything, I just...want people to be aware.
