Can we appreciate how well they sell Courage's scream in the battle's climax? The way it briefly flashes black and white and drowns out the soundtrack while sounding like a nuke gives it so much impact! Unironically one of the most badass moments in Death Battle history!
Fun fact: In the podcast where they discussed who wins between Scooby and Courage, they did a poll on Twitter about who would win, and the poll ended in 50/50.
@@The_Page_5_Chronicles What am I spoiling lol? it's their video that they already reacted to. If you mean yourself or someone else that isn't aware of the ending and waited for their reaction, you probably should have watched the ending first before looking for comments about the video where people talk about it.
Safe to say that this is one of the few Death Battles with an outcome that no one with a beating heart will be upset about. I grew up with Scooby like everybody else, but Courage is my absolute favorite childhood cartoon and one of my favorite cartoon protagonists! Quite a lot of nostalgia this season for me, lol.
20:19 for those who missed it or aren’t aware, this line is a reference to one his show’s running gags. Where he comments on what’s happening and says “or my name is xx, and it’s not.” Bit of a sad fact: The Scooby/Courage crossover movie was Thea White’s(Muriel’s voice actress) final performance before she passed 😢.
Very nostalgic one as I’ve watched both shows and I’m so glad this didn’t end in either one’s death. In fact, Eustass dying is a common occurrence so this was just a Courage ending.
Toon vs Toon. In cartoons the general rule was, the protagonist wins, or rather the one that starts the conflict is the one that loses. Which even though Courage tripped Scooby, it was Eustice that technically started the conflict.
Yes, Scooby Doo is an alien. At least, in one continuity. According to the show Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated, Scooby belongs to an ancient race of ultraterrestrial beings called the Anunnaki, which take the form of talking animals.
The Anunnaki are also a set of real world gods (if I remember correctly) that are HEAVILY tied to the Ancient Alien theories as the tribe of people that worship them held beliefs that science didn’t prove for centuries IE: around Earth, Sun being the center of the solar system, etc.
Even though many people are too young to get the joke, possibly the funniest thing was Courage opening the door and finding Colombo on the other side :D. The words "Just one ore thing..." coming from that man's lips are some of the most terrifying words in exitance if you think you are getting away with murder.
A very popular matchup is Columbo vs "Kira", basically, "could Columbo solve the Death Note case", so people feel like it may be leading to that. Though it would be a very strange episode since it wouldn't have much fighting at all.
Not any human dog, any MORTAL dog. And Scooby is still mortal. Also don't pay too much attention to that whole Scooby is an alien thing. Lord knows the fandom doesn't
For those who don’t know, the scooby doo Turing planetary scale bit was likely inspired by Asura’s wrath or journey to the west, more likely Asura’s, which is another great video game
Two of my favorite cartoon dogs. Grew up watching both shows and when this appeared in DB, i was pretty excited. And props Ed Bosco who did Courage's voice. He did a great job
To be honest I’m glad neither characters died. Between this and DB Kai’s puppy murder we’ve had enough dog mistreatment for one month. Ps. I’m still recovering from my childhood being killed by witnessing Charizard and Red being obliterated…
This death battle was a crazy one that is awesome to four paws up to the sky of epic 😄 Also did you know that the voice of Courage in this battle was voiced by Edward Bosco? As he done Alastor from Hazbin Hotel Pilot and Striker in Helluva Boss.
I had to go for Courage for two reasons. I loved Courage more growing up, so there's the loyalty. But I also lost my 19 year old Beagle mix back in August, so I sided Courage for Maggie's love. In the end, this battle had no business going this hard and I think everyone is satisfied with the outcome lol Also, Chad James, as referenced by Courage, is the voice of Boomstick. The more you know!
i was not excited for this episode because it broke one of the few rules i have, aka no animals allowed, aside from obvious exceptions like obviously fictional aliens or werewolves. but i am really happy with how this turned out, also the track "forever terror night" is legitimately amazing and im fairly sure its the 5th lyrical track in a row for this season, even if i still think "discordant dicipher" and "fireborn" are better than it
Growing up watching Scooby-Doo and having Courage the Cowardly Dog be my favorite show of all time is probably why I grew up into a big horror fan lol.

But they haven’t even seen a lot of the older Death Battles. They haven’t exactly been watching these in chronological order over the years. Just whatever they feel like when there’s not a current one out.

First, how long ago was that podcast and poll? Second, that is hilarious and fitting given the conclusion they came to and presented.

Yeah there is a movie with these two staring in it.
Return myyyy childhood. As a ghost/alien thing cause being human was pretty mid.

It was during the part of the first season but it didn't catch on
16:44 Scooby and Courage met after Courage’s series was already over, so all of Courage’s feats were due to him and him alone; not Scooby
I said the same thing all he helped with was finding the source of the monsters and weird shi
Also, it's absolutely hilarious that the biggest bet we've had ended in the exact same standing as how it started. Amazing irony.
Yup 😂
