The idea of Sagat, a literal coldblooded killer, thought that Dan was *so pathetic* that he felt compelled to give him that win out of pity is so goddamn funny XD
Sagat has had some interesting character growth in the Street Fighter games. That scar on his chest is from Ryu tapping into the Satsui no Hado and scarring him during a tournament he was about to win. When he joins Shadaloo as a villain he's near entirely motivated on just getting revenge on Ryu to redeem his honor and pride from the loss. He eventually mellows out a ton and recognizes that revenge won't carry him forward as a fighter, and at one point is even tempted by the Satsui no Hado himself which gives him more understanding of the internal conflict Ryu was dealing with.
When Sagat sees Dan Hibiki, he pities him because he sees himself in that quest of anger and revenge, and recognizes that he must be to Dan what Ryu was to him. When he takes the fall to Dan it's partly because he wanted to help him let go of his hatred and revenge, while also coming to terms with his own, but Dan of course takes the wrong lesson from that and gets cocky and arrogant instead. It is amusing that seeing how pathetic Dan was became part of Sagat's character growth to becoming a better person.
@@WhistleDungeon Also in the recent games (I think 4 or 5) Sagat and Ryu have their rematch as promised. No revenge, just a proper clean conclusion to make up for their first fight with no Satsui no Hado interference.
mr satan is only a joke character in the context of dragon ball, where people can level planets with a finger. If you put him in the real world he'd probably an actual legitimate world champion

He did win a world tournament legitimately. In a world without ki users he is the strongest even if he is a little dumb
@@christophervanoster Honestly, I can totally get Mr Satan having a big mental blind sport where ki is concerned. Most people have blind spots to things completely outside their frame of reference, and the ability of people to toss ki around is WAY outside of everything Mr Satan has known about how martial arts work. From his perspective, it was much more plausible that Goku et al were using a ton of stagecraft to fake superhuman powers.
And if Dan was in our world he'd be a more grounded superhero. He's just outclassed by all the Street Fighters. They even said he beat up a gang of muggers.

Hercule survived a slap from Cell and a punch from Kid Buu. Even if they held back the feat of not dying is impressive.
To be clear, the guy killed by that mercenary’s tongue wasn’t Hercule’s master, that was another antagonist from Dragon Ball.

Hercule Satan was the champion because the OG fighters stopped coming. These guys, who have leg so strong they can jump into clouds, or survived getting kicked into the next continent, were afraid of King Piccolo, who killed them because they could threaten his reign. Also public in Dragon Ball probably hypnotised themselves out of fear because they watched King Piccolo destroyed cities live.

Keep in mind: Hercule's focus and arsenal usage were heavily nerfed here by being in front of a public audience - but his strength and endurance were enough to survive.
The funny thing is Dan did land a version of the raging demon in the games... it does pitiful damage to his enemy, and takes 99% of his OWN health off. So even if he did land it, he still probably would've lost.
Oh? I don't remember him ever damaging himself from it. What game was that in?
@@BJGvideos It was Marvel Vs Capcom, the first one it appeared in, I think. It takes all his health in every game except SVC chaos, and Pocket fighter, where he gets his ghost dad to do the move instead.

Dan is a joke character period, whereas Hercule is a joke character in the context of Dragonball , where if you can't blow up a planet you haven't even reached the bare minimum to be considered a threat.
Hercule is a legit martial arts champion, whereas Dan's only onscreen victory was his opponent pitying him.

Sure, Bruce is definitely more skilled but how much can skill carry you when your opponent could probably punch your head off and not get fazed by your attacks?

To be fair, Sagat comes pretty late in the tournament, so Dan would have had to have won x amount of battles (I forget how many it was in that specific game) to get to him in the first place.
Mercenary Tao was from Dragonball. He tried to kill Goku and Goku kicked a grenade at him causing him to need the cybernetics. He is the brother of Tien and Chiaotzu’s Master Crane who was the rival of Master Roshi. Tien’s scar on his chest is from Mercenary Tao when he used an illegal hidden knife on him during a martial arts match.

It actually is amazing how lucky Hercule is in Dragon Ball. Which makes all the funny moments with him that much funnier.
And while Dan is pretty pathetic compared to other Street Fghters, I gotta give it him for not giving up despite failures.

If you were impressed by Mr. Satan's feats, remember that Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaoztu can do all that and more. When Krillin was a kid, he pulled an entire cruise ship while swimming fast, which was just part of his training. The humans aren't weak, they're just weak in comparison to the OP alien races, gods, and androids in Dragon Ball.
Yeah but for a normal person without ki Mr satan genuinely is strong.

technically krillin can scale all the way up to 7x universal due to goku being forced to go super saiyan after BOG to deflect Krillin's blast- implying he IS genuinely stronger than goku's base at that time.
this fight was my first exposure to DB.
When my friends had asked who I thought was gonna win, I scoffed at bluntly told them it was obviously Hercule.
When asked why I thought it was obvious that Hercule would win, I said to them, "One of THE luckiest characters in DBZ vs. THE Unluckiest character in Street Fighter? Come on guys!"
I still remember the look of realization they all had.

The context for Dan activating the Raging Demon in the comic was because he challenged Sakura (Ryu's fangirl) to a fight, but she kept blowing him off and running him over with her bike. At the end of the comic, Dan is sat at her house waiting to fight her, and she still ignores him, which pisses Dan off enough to activate the Satsui No Hado. When he tries to use the Raging Demon on her, he tripped over her backpack and lost the form. Sakura, seeing him try to use Akuma's attack on her, causes her to accept his challenge as she cracks her knuckles , and then it jumpcuts to Dan in the hospital from many broken bones
4:36 To be clear, that is the assassin who kill Mr. Satan's master, but not how he killed him. Mr. Satan's master was killed offscreen. That scene is from the OG Dragon Ball.

Tbh as fun as Mr Satan is he's criminally nerfed in the XenoVerse games. Lore accurate but still... it's like Im playing on Dark Souls mode difficulty.

Is this not how he is in basically every game besides the Budokai series? In that series he’s at least able to fight on even level, because no super armor or other issues.
@@ramenbomberdeluxe4958 Tbh...never played the other DBZ Playstation games prior to XenoVerse. Excluding FighterZ and HyperDBZ. So XenoVerse was my first hand DBZ game experience.
I might try Budokai someday though now that you mentioned it.

Hercule Satan is actually one of the more Heroic and Humble characters in DBZ that while yes,is no physical powerhouse compared to Broly or Goku,is still a legitimate hero when it comes to his character.
One of my favorite quotes in DBZ is from Hercule Satan befriending Majin Buu.
"If i truly have convinced Buu that Killing Is Wrong,than i Truly have Saved the World!!"

Honestly moving forward I'd say you guys can say who you're voting for but write down the dollar amount (you could also write down the fighter and show us at the same time and then discuss why you think the fighter will win but the bet amount will stay secret
Funny thing is Satan would beat Yuujiro Hanma, Micheal Myers, John Wick. Just goes to show how a character who is basically a joke in Dragon ball can beat up the most dangerous in people in normal stories.
Which reminds me, for all the shit Yamacha gets for being weak, he can literally one shot MCU and Comic book avengers (base), one shot movie Justice league and fold Luffy, Naruto and Ichigo with his pinky.
Yamacha should go into space and become a bounty hunter. He maybe weak on Earth but that's like a hotspot for the strongest in the universe.
If Dan could successfully pull off the Raging Demon he could probably take Meyers too. Provided Meyers has a soul...which I'm not actually sure of.

My favorite thing TFS does with Mr. Satan is play into the bit that hes the strongest there ever was and will be when it comes to when they lets played the Xenoverse games. Of course he was only second to the Demon Lord Dumpling.
To be fair, Satan did take a hit from cell, flew around 300 metres because if it, Smashed into a mountain at maximum velocity, and actually survived. That's more than the damage Yamcha could receive before dying.
Mr. Satan is a joke in the same way that Krillin and Yamcha are considered jokes: they only seem weak by comparison to their alien friends but in reality they're very powerful and competent fighters. If Mr. Satan had appeared in Dragon Ball instead of the later Z he would have been considered impressive.
You should watch Tifa vs Yang! I think you’d love it. One of the best Deathbattles out there
this is one of the most legendary death battles ever, also, i recommend you to react to "guildedguy", start with "story 0" up to 7, story 8 is coming out this year
Truely this was THE death battle of all time.
i've waited for a super hot minute for this death battle. :) now i'm waiting for Kirby VS Majin Boo. :) also, about Dan fighting Sagat, Dan didn't want to kill Sagat, he only wanted to fight him. he did, and he won, but again, Sagat only lost because he threw the fight out of pity. also, Dan's biggest thing when compared to Mr.Satan is that while they're tougher than the average joe, they're pure weaklings when it comes to the rest of the cast.

It's just ironic that Dan's fighting style, the Saikyo-Ryu style, literally means Ultimate/The Strongest Dragon style, when he is built as the weakest character. Props to the SF Dan mains who can actually beat people as him though, proving that it truly is the strongest.

Loved this one, even before I watched DBZ
Definitely one of the best joke battles in the series. In context to their own universes, yeah, they’re both weaklings, but it’s also not a fair comparison. The major characters in DBZ and Street Fighter are all packing serious Power, and/or aren’t human, so they’re naturally a lot stronger. But for ordinary, non-super humans, they’re above average for everyone else. That said, I personally hoped Hercule would win when I first saw this fight years ago, and I wasn’t disappointed.
EDIT: Look up Mercenary Tao, the “tree-surfing murderer” sometime. He debuted in the original Dragonball series, and was one of Kid Goku’s more dangerous enemies.
I mean mr satan has accomplishments no one notices because of the scale of dragon ball. He genuinly did win the world tournameny once, and hes pulled buses broken bricks etc. plus one major thing is in the buu world tournament at the punch machine mr satan genuinly went first and scored the highest score among the normal humans.only the z warriors scored more then him. That itself shows hes kind in the top 20 worlds strongest humans.
This was a good reaction and do either Pikachu vs Blanka or Kirby vs Majin Buu next.
If you're not a fan of revelling to each other after the fight, the write them down, show the camera separately, then tell each other before the fight starts, or just after the fight before they explain why they won.
Now that you guys have watched DBZ, you should revisit Dragon Ball FighterZ and watch some of the super moves or Dramatic Finishes again
I love Dan Hibiki, though it might be at least because we share a name. He's a hilarious, pathetic joke character, and I've actually had success playing online as him in Super Street Fighter IV.

Spoilers for the betting results...
Two Death Battles into the New Year and both times Bethany picked against Dragon Ball to end up in a large deficit, right after finishing up the Buu Saga. You hate to see it. lol
I can understand her reasoning for Dan but it also feels very misplaced. She figured that Mr. Satan had a lot of strength feats but his one tournament win relied on an asterisk - Spopovich having food poisoning - and that, if faced with a comparable opponent, he would struggle to have a clear win condition beyond just dumb luck. Problem is, 1) she severely underestimates the power of dumb luck (shoutout to Domino in Marvel Comics), and 2) Dan was by no means a comparable opponent. Mr. Satan is at least a competent martial artist and has pretty absurd physical feats like pulling multiple buses, punching clean through metal, and moving faster than the eye can see (and taking hits from beings who could literally shatter mountains or buildings with the smallest of effort). Whereas Dan...is frankly shit with no actual talent and no actual feats besides getting up from beatings from people *WAY* weaker than DBZ villains.
Dan Hibiki is basically just Mr. Satan without the success, the talent, the luck or really any redeeming qualities. Should've bet on the puppy saver.

You should consider watching the original Dragon Ball. TFS started at the Raditz saga, which means you're still missing out on several arcs building up the story until then.
There's a lot of story there that you missed about how Goku got his start and ended up meeting the rest of the cast and building up what would eventually be the Z-Fighters. Only downside is there's no Vegeta since he debuts in the Saiyan Saga, but that's made up for by the human cast being far more relevant and at the forefront than the background characters they eventually became. Mercenary Tao that you briefly see in this video is one such villain that was fought and certainly worth witnessing in action.
AniMelon got into some trouble watching it on her channel even though she showed a heavily edited version so they may want to look into how she dealt with thaf

Yeah gotta remember Mr Satan took hits from both Cell and Buu and while the hits weren’t at max strength both characters are galaxy busters. The guy is superhuman but he’s just a joke because of how strong the z fighters are in comparison.

The line on screen at 10:28 may be one of the most out of character things Death Battle has ever depicted and it's from the actual canon. Sakura would never use language like that and I don't know why they translated her as not only being incredibly rude but also incredibly ableist. Cannot for the life of me wrap my head around it.

Damn, if you struggled with DB Kai's filler, which supposedly gets rid of most DBZ's filler, you better brace yourselves for DB Super. It has some cool moments but definitely watch it with a filler guide at hand

When it comes down to it, Hercule is weak compared to literal superhumans. Dan is weak compared to regular humans.

As far as starting dragon ball super the first two seasons are just inferior retellings of two movies you would enjoy a lot more. DBS doesn't actually start until the new future trunks arc.

When y’all watch Super, PLEASE Watch the Two movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection F and skip the first 2 arcs of the show. The anime just remade the movies and it’s not as good. This is genuinely so important.
