Aww, the game skipped a scene that added MORE tension to Sasuke and Itachis' fight.
The series confirmed that the powers of Sharingan (especially the higher level, Mangekyo) take a toll on the users, including blindness. But if you take the eyes of another Sharingan user, you can use the power without those drawbacks. Before the battle, Itachi goes on a rant on how he'll take Sasukes' eyes and have greater power, raising the stakes for Sasuke.
But I am glad his monologue on reality was kept. You call your life experience 'reality', but what if the actual 'truth' is something else? Gives me chills
The crazy thing is that Itachi was only 13 years old when he killed the clan. Goes to show how talented he was. Sasuke does also posses the same talent, but grew up in peace times and was a late bloomer.

Keep in mind that Itachi's novels he was afraid of battling his father and likely would of just flat out lost but his father just didn't have it in him to battle his own. To add to your other point Itachi was trained since childhood by his father, whereas Sasuke basically got a day's worth of training before the massacre.
@@theworstcatholic7247 yeah I know. I meant like the normal uchiha. Well he did have obitos help but wasnt really fatigued either way so probably could have still done it alone except for Fugaku, since magekyo also boosts you physical stats even more than the regular sharingan
This fight is so epic, it's been teased at the start of the show. When it finally happens its not too late nor too early, its just the perfect time.

One of my favorite story arcs in all of naruto. Pains arc is the other favorite. When he was 13, itachi Uchiha massacred his clan, every person save his younger brother. He planted the seeds of revenge in sasuke then, then later in life with their next meeting he placed sasuke in another genjutsu. One that lasted 72 hours in real time, every single second that sasuke was in that genjutsu he witnessed his older brother killing his parents clan over and over, more then half a million times. That moment is when the seeds sprouted and took root and sasuke truly devoted himself to killing his brother and avenging his clan. Its soo good
Also, orochimaru wanted to possess sasukes body and take it as his own. When he and sasuke fought he started the process of absorbing sasuke, instead sasuke reversed it and absorbed orochimaru. He had to dedicate Chakra to sealing orochimaru to keep him quiet, during the fight with itachi, sasuke used all his Chakra. Which allowed orochimaru to break free. They didn't explain it in this, but the sword on itachis susanu'o was a legendary blade, when it pierced maru it sealed him in another dimension one where you are perpetually intoxicated for all time.
Unfortunately this does not show the entire fight. It skips around a lot. Sasuke and Itachi have an intense mind game/genjutsu battle in the beginning.
Itatchi DID get that kind of approval from their father; their dad was always comparing Itatchi's frankely freakish level of talent to his seven year old, less but still very talented son, but he does give Sasuke a nod basically when he mastered the Fire Ball Jutsu at 7 (which Kakashi thought was impossible for any fresh 12 year old GENIN to be capable of, nevermind a 7 year old student).
Edit: Fugaku (their dad) got incresed expectations from Itatchi, and I think he wanted them to become incredible ninja to give the Uchiha clan more recognition, because to be fair they kept getting shafted in a lot of ways. He was also the kind of guy I think who found it hard to loosen up, and he definitely wasn't a really good parent (he took his freaking 4 year old to a goddamn battelfield to show him what happens in war; mass death and bloodshed. He traumatized Itatchi to the point it basically influenced most if not all of his decisions.)
Itachi loves Sasuke more than you guys will ever know or have seen thus far. And unfortunately, hatred is a big part of unlocking a certain power of an Uchiha. Hence why Itachi put Sasuke through all that.
The thing is they already watched all of that before since they saw it in chronological order, but they seem to have completely forgotten about it. Yet again, the videogame skips a lot of information and maybe it wasn't all that clear

I forgot how much of a good job they did with the itachi boss in this game especially the little secrets added in. Like simple call backs to the manga they didn't have to do it but it's the little things 👌
The fact that Itachi was like 13 i think traumatizing his 7/8 year old brother by killing literally everyone in their clan including their parents. So damn dark and why i will forever stan for Sasuke and Itachi as some of the better characters in the series
What itachi did in the end did do something more than just pass on a familiarity but I won’t spoil exactly what. As for the Susanoo, that is something you gain when the sharingan turns to a mangeykou sharingan. You can tell a mangeykou has appeared when a pattern forms in their eyes. Itachi’s for example were a triangular shape.
Fun fact: Sasuke's voice actor is the only character who pronounces shit correctly because he actually speaks Japanese
The whole first half of the fight between Sasuke and Itachi in the anime is super trippy, basically all of it is genjutsu as Uchiha are really good at putting each other in illusions, like a whole fight sequence will play out and then the scene will reveal neither even moved in reality. A battle of the eyes. I think after this fight int he anime at least, all the characters became too powerful and the feeling of "ninja battles" was lost to something more akin to a DBZ fight. This fight was really intense, full of skillful acrobatics, gotcha moments, strategy, mind games and lots of tricks.

Context from the story:
The sharingan (the red eye) is something that only members of the uchiha can awaken and it grants the user certain abilites, reading and seing the flow of chakra while also recognising the nature of the chakra, super congnition that allows you to read a move before the enemy even finishes to do it and to cast illusions upon eye contact. Only a few manage to awaken and even fewer manage to master it but one thing that only 2 people in history have ever manage to unlock is the next level, the mangekyo sharingan, this eyes grants you powers way beyong the normal sharingan power that allows you to beat almost anybody however there's a price, the more you use the mangekyo the more your eyes lose their light and at some point the user will become blind forever and at that point of the story all Itachi was seing was a blurr he could barely see anything. Only 2 people have ever managed to awaken this eye and those two are Madara and Itachi, the sharingan can only be awakened by experiencing loss and for the mangekyo to awakens it needs an even bigger loss, Itachi told Sasuke that to unlock that level he needs to kill his best friend which was Naruto, and Sasuke could have done it but chose not to because he didn't want to follow his brother's path.

A thing to note is, Itachi was only 13 when he killed his clan. Sasuke wasn't the only child there.
Itachi did it to prevent civil war in the leaf village.

Itachi betrayed his clan to save sasukes life.
Orochimaru needed Sasuke to run out of chakra to be able to take over, and Itachi's plan was to weary Sasuke for Orochimaru to come out and get rid of him, as he knew he was still in there. Also, Itachi intended for Sasuke to obtain a new power during the fight. It was all just a big charade from him.
Itachi is one of the most complex character in Naruto. Because of his actions he seems like a villian, but he is an anti-hero. My fav character, and his actions have so much significance that even at the end everything he did will be very important. He was playing a 5D chess within a 5D chess.
Altho itachi didnt implant the power of susanoo directly into sasuke. Him dying to Sasukes hand and another piece of future info was heart breaking and tramatic enough to trigger sasukes mangenkyou sharinga. Basically activating the powers similar to itachis. The sharingan is awakened and made more powerful through very very strong emotional events in life. Be it traumatic or loving. At a cost tho. A detail overlooked in the games is that overuse of the susanoo and amaterasu make you blind. Hence why itachi wants to steal sasukes eyes

There's a TON of context missing as to why Itachi did what he did. I'll try not to spoil much here, because I'm hoping they do a good job of explaining things later on.
Just know that by Itachi choosing to kill his entire clan, he basically saved the entire planet from being forced into another "Ninja World War" which would've led to countless more unnecessary deaths.
He chose the lesser of two evils.
