Akuma (folklore)
The akuma is a fire spirit derived from Japanese folklore. Alternative names for the akuma are toori akuma , and ma . Akuma means devil in Japanese, and is typically depicted as an entity with a fiery head and eyes, and carrying a sword. The akuma is typically told to be able to fly, and to be a harbinger of ominous fortune, that it can bring misfortune to those who happen to see it.
As far as Death Battle, you should react to Akuma vs Shang Tsung. His real name is Gouki, while his brother is Gouken.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 I got it on my right arm instead of my left like Jin! Im right handed so for me it made sense but incase anyone recognizes it, I sometimes mention Jins mother had it also on her right. In Tekken Tag Tournament 2 , there was a character named Unknown that was basically a possessed version of Jins mother , but I dont think that character itself was canon.
When I used to beat gamer, Jin was my favorite character as well from Tekken 3 to 5, but because I always interpreted the devil gene as non-literal, perhaps and metaphor to express internal hatred of one for another or something, and I probably interpreted it that way because I liked the game. However, Tekken 6 brought out the context of the origins of these transformations, and confirmed that these are biblical references to the literal devil, showing that Jin Kazama is not fully human but is a descendant from a fallen angel mentioned in The Book of Enoch who gave rise to half breed creatures, Jin Kazama being a decerment. This makes gin Kazama and kazuya literal demons, and this goes against my religious beliefs for your favorite character to literally be The Devil.
The same thing goes with Akama from Street fighter. He used to be one of my favorite characters, but it appears that his character has a connection with literal demon possession. Evil Ryu and Jin, and Akuma and kazuya, are virtually the same thing (well, sort of). Evil were you and akuma are demon possessed, and Jin and Kazuya we ARE demons, no there seems to be a double meaning with being demon possessed as well because Jin does not have full control over his free will while transformed ⚖️.
We make allowances for things because it's entertaining and we enjoy it, but there are some really dark things about some of these programs we watch and games we play, and we don't allow ourselves to see the truth of it because we like it.

Akuma vs Shao Khan is a good death battle to watch if you wanna learn more about Akuma. Also you guys were so heavily invested in this fight I love it😂😂😂

The underground arena is actually the vault space under Haven Academy in the show RWBY. Plays a major role in that particular series and also is where one of the most epic fights in the show occurs. Definitely a show worth checking out.

Not gonna do a big lore dump or super long comment today (partially because I know very little about either character lol), but I just wanted to say that I REALLY enjoy videos like this. It was unfortunate that they didn't fully incorporate Jin's attacks from the games into the battle which I think made it a little unfair. Still though, it'd be incredibly difficult for Jin to deal with the Power Of Nothingness which is absurdly broken. The strength of Ryu is quite inconsistent between films and comic's so this fight is very tough to judge. Great fight regardless.
@@blackdarkness6798 I mean it's pretty strong, whenever Ryu is close to losing its a get out of jail free card but yeah it's possible that Jin can deal with it.
oh yea he definitely was, Hehachi survived Akuma's strongest attack in a battcle and Jin can beat Hehachi without the devil gene so he definitely could survive anything Ryu could throw at him.
Always wanted to say: It's actually funny scaling Ryu to Akuma and not doing the same with Jin since Akuma was in Tekken 7 and played a role in the storymode.

Fun fact: My fist console was PS1 so tekken 3 was my first fighting game. I used to practice and mick the fighting moves in the game. Believe it or not I used to get in a lot of fights and I was very skinny. Those moves from tekken actually helped me win a lot of fights.

An epic battle. Already know who each of us is going to pick 😂
Akuma is literally my favorite SF character. After him it's Kage, which is the materialization form of the Satsui No Hado. And since the LAST form Kage took was Ryu's. Kage looks EXACTLY like Ryu with some noticeable but minor differences. I had no idea that Ryu defeated Akuma, especially since he's the literal master of the Satsui No Hado & has beaten Kage himself. I had a strong feeling that Ryu would win, especially once they mentioned his Evil form. Also, if you two can find a way to find it. I HIGHLY recommend watching Street Fighter 3rd Strike movie. It's on the PS2 game, if you can find it without needing the game, then awsome! But it's a really good movie, which a lot of the examples of Ryu's power was shown/depicted from.

He didn't defeat Akuma. As per my research he tried and tried but Akuma always tried to make satsui no hado control Ryu and make him like himself. But Ryu didn't use his satsui no hado at its full extent as he would become evil just like Akuma. But even with his satsui no hado he can't defeat Akuma. As Akuma mastered the Satsui no hado and has 3 forms Akuma the base one Shin Akuma the second one and the Demonic Oni the last form. The Oni form is thr one when Akuma is fully consumed by the Satsui no hado.
You two have to watch Wonder woman versus She-Ra. One of my favorites I think you'll love it

Should be noted, while Jin has done some morally questionable shit like starting WW3, he's still the better of the 3 options between him, Kazuya, and Heihachi, and unlike Kazuya after Tekken 2, never goes full villain, becoming more of an anti-hero.
Anti heroes are always more fascinating 😊

@@shenelljohnson74 Ryu didn't even knew the thing as he never trained for it while for goutetsu and Akuma they found the written information and started to train and that's how they got satsui no hado.
@@hotheadedguy9108 he got it when he's only struggling in a fight that's how it works even in SF5 Sagat was suffering from the same thing to and realized he needs inner peace as well you can be right but it's only shows up when a fighter trying there hardest to win but can't then get angry in the fact there losing thus is why the hado consume the host mind to give in if your desperate for power which in many fights it works or doesn't

14:18 At a Tekken fan, sadly Bethany is right. It used to be the opposite, Jin used to blow Ryu out of the water in terms of personality and depth. He used to be a reluctant loner, struggling to break free of his family's cycle of hate & violence. Then by 6, he suddenly got an army to declare war on the world. Supposedly it was to create enough "bad energy" to make a big stupid baddie appear, but your character can't be sympathetic AND a warmonger. Ryu would then repackage his gimmick, since outside of the SF4 anime, he basically never struggled with his dark side.

There's one important fact I forgot to mention: Ryu is a skilled and competent warrior, but he has never defeated Akuma. Not in the official cannon.
Here's how it works: all the Street Fighter games that has Street Fighter title from the first to the Street Fighter 5 is the canon source material. However they're not in order. After the first Street Fighter game it gets tricky, but all the SF 2, SF 3, 3RD Strike, SF 4 & 5, along with the Street Fighter Alpha are cannon.
All the Street Fighter & Capcom vs games are in another universe. Power levels are all over the place. The Street Fighter comics are in a different universe as well. This is possibly where Ryu defeated Akuma.
At the same time continue to react to Screwattack as they do incredible Death Battles with the greatest precision today. They just didn't mention it which media Ryu defeated Akuma.
I believe in newer episodes they have set rules on where material gets pulled from and what’s used to factor in things 🤔 Even if not 100% right it’s still fun times 🙂

Ryu is the MAN! granted hes a fictional character but he was one of my inspirations when I got into martial arts back when I was a preteen

I guess if they decide how things are canon or not as the real deciding factor. It will go this way. I mean Broly from Dragon Ball was not as powerful as Broly from Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie. Which is as powerful as Beerus himself, says Goku. I'm also waiting for your reaction on that movie. Basically the only one i watched of Dragon Ball. Since Broly is my favorite character in DB. And i was told by my friend that the Broly in the anime sucks. Weird for a guy whom almost everyone calls the strongest super sayian?
Anyway. I'm waiting for Asura's Wrath Boss Fights reaction! He is fighting for his daughter unlike most of these other characters. His story is an emotional one and an epic one. Theres almost no reactions for his game. Which is sad for a character that is so close of being on Marvel or DC simply by his epic feats. You really need to move him up the list.
And i gotta say i'm looking forward to the costumes!🤣
