A comment that I've seen concerning this fight that I think is quite accurate went like this: *"This was like genetically enhancing a Silverback Gorilla, giving it a century of combat experience and training, and then sending it after a middle school bully with a laser pointer. This wasn't a fight, it was an execution."* Pretty much on-point. Nolan is a millennia-old conqueror with the combat experience and training to match, while John is nothing more than a glorified bully who merely happened to be a big fish in his own "pond". And the moment John set foot in Nolan's "pond" he got eaten by a bigger fish looking for an afternoon snack. Hell, even if Homelander was up against Invincible instead of Omni-Man, it's very likely that he still would have lost, especially when Mark went ballistic at seeing what Homelander had done to his mother. Mark would have snapped so hard that I doubt even Nolan could have stopped him (not that Nolan even _would_ stop Mark).
From another comment I made for this fight: “The funny thing about the super scream, they actually needed to nerf Omniman to make it viable. Viltrumites are weak to range of *specific* audio frequencies, not the actual decibel level of the scream. Homelander would have no way of finding the necessary range of frequencies - let alone matching it with his vocal cords alone. Mark (Nolan’s son and main protagonist of Invincible) needed to have a small mechanical implant put into his ear in order to have his vestibular system take damage. They gave Homelander an advantage by having his scream automatically match the frequencies necessary to induce damage. Omniman is just that much stronger than him”.
actually Viltrumites are weak to a small range of frequencies the implant in Mark's ear was said to randomly change pitch and rythm in those frequencies while they did fudge Homelander's scream to make it more damaging, its not like Viltrumites have this specific "needle in a haystack" frequency that they're weak to

Well that's the thing. Omniman DOES love Debbie. That's why he fed Homelander his heart. He easily could have just snapped his neck or decapitated him. He respected the guardians deep down that's why he tried to kill them quick. Homelander genuinely pissed him off so he made his death as brutal and terrifying as possible
Yes. In the "Invincible" cartoon, the Guardians' deaths were a lot messier than the comic, but they were still quick despite their sheer brutality. Here? It makes Red Rush's death look like a relaxing massage. Because Homelander made the huge mistake of killing Debbie and make Omni-Man go completely berserk (albeit in a subtle fashion, though there was no masking the pure rage that Nolan had deep down despite how it perfectly subtle it managed to be), and the result was first a session of inhumane mental torture for Vought's cash-cow, reducing him from having a smug attitude to panicking upon witnessing his oh-so loved reputation get destroyed, as well having to taste what being helpless feels like (to which he can only throw a tantrum, being the pathetic manchild he is), at which point where, once Homie threatens to kill Mark, the Viltrumite goes all out to give John the long, torturous, unspeakably horrible death he deserves, having his jaw torn off in such a way that it's only barely held by a few strips of raw red meat flayed right down to the bone, then having his heart gruesomely ripped out and, when trying to take his disembodied organ back from Nolan's clutches to no avail, being reminded of what he was promised earlier before having his own heart shoved all the way down his distended, gruesomely mutilated mouth before being finished by Nolan, who proceeds to slowly squeeze Homelander's head between the palms of his hands until it pops like a watermelon. It's a death as inhumanly gruesome as it is utterly well-deserved, and it shows how Homelander lost the fight (if it deserves to be called so, anyway) before it even began. It's so one-sided that calling it that would be insulting. No mercy. No holding back. Just a battle-hardened soldier with many years of experience in the warzone vs. a middle-school bully all-grown-up with an ego larger than the Milky Way galaxy who never learned how to properly throw a punch and, for all intents and purposes, is nothing but a sniveling coward deep down.

After reading the comic, I came to the conclusion that Nolan is possibly one of the best "dad" figures out there. The problem, and why I couldn't figure out what was bothering me at first after I finished reading the comic, is that the story is primarily told from Mark's point-of-view. The problem with that is that Mark is a sheltered kid, and has no idea what is going on out in the universe or behind-the-scenes. Nolan, however, does. Nolan is a member of a very hierarchical, warrior species that regularly purges itself of "weakness" and has spent many thousands of years conquering a good portion of the galaxy. Nolan was born into this culture, grew up in it, it's his life, it's all he knows. He's a warrior, a conqueror, and he's very good at it. Nolan is also somewhere in the Top Ten strongest Viltrumites, possibly Top Five. Mark, however, is none of these things, but Nolan knows that as soon as the rest of the Viltrumites find out about Mark (and they WILL when they get to Earth, because the Empire IS coming to pay a visit to Earth) they are going to put Mark to the test like they do to ALL of their own species, and WHEN (not "if", but "when") Mark fails that test, they are going to "purge" him. Nolan knows that the Viltrum Empire IS coming. Nolan was supposed to have conquered Earth years ago, but he didn't. Nolan developed "feelings" and was trying to figure out a way to get out of having to conquer the planet, purge the "weak", and enslave the rest of the population. However, he also knows that he can't beat the entire Empire, and that everything that Earth has can't beat the Empire either, even if he sided with the Earthlings. Nolan also knows that the Viltrumites are dying out, as a species. There's only a few tens of thousands of them left, because they keep "purging" themselves, they keep getting into fights with other species that the weakest Viltrumites die in, and they just don't breed very fast. Viltrumites CAN interbreed with other species, and as Nolan tells Mark later on in the comics, Nolan has had many wives and many kids during his millennia of life, but none of them have had powers. Until Mark came along. Apparently, Human-Viltrumite children inherit Viltrumite powers, unlike the other species they've come across. Nolan also knows that as soon as the Empire finds out about this, they're going to see the Humans as not just another slave species to dig and refine resources, but as a breeding-slave species, and as a way to replenish their ranks, since the Humans breed much faster. The Empire will literally stop at almost nothing to conquer the planet then, and it is likely that Mark (assuming he somehow survives the testing and "purging" that all young Viltrumites undergo) will be seen as a particularly nice rape-toy by stronger female Viltrumites. Incidentally, this actually happens to Mark later, after the Empire gets to Earth. So, when Nolan beats the crap out of Mark, and tells him about the truth of the Viltrumites, he is trying to prepare Mark to survive as best he can in a world that Nolan KNOWS will be conquered and subjected to Viltrumite rule. Mark will be forcibly taken from Nolan and Debbie, tested and trained, and expected to act, think, and behave AS a Viltrumite, by OTHER Viltrumites, and that Nolan is powerless to stop that from happening.
Love how Omni man was obviously furious about Debbie's death but insof lashing outvin rage he cooled it into a deadly blade shows the sheer discipline of his millenia of training and experience compared to HL's pathetic childish incompetence and hair triggred temper.
Yep. That "warrior != bully" bit is key. Regardless of the strength differential, Homelander does. not. know. how. to. fight. He's never had to. He wouldn't come prepared to make use of his abilities, and he'd need to be able to do that to take on some of the less-godlike Invincible characters like Cecil, let alone Omni-Man.
16:00 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the freaking look on your faces when Omni-Man fed Homelander his own heart was brilliant 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm dying, I can't stop laughing, awesome reaction 👍👍👍
Omni man and other viltrumites can heal but regenerating an organ entirely isn’t possible such as an arm or an eye. Nolan didn’t regrow his eyes he just had his eyelids closed while homelander was attacking him
Bethany's reactions to the various parts of this episode were pure gold. Been lurking and watching for a while but those were so good I came out of hiding too say that. You two are fun to watch!
that one had a pretty obvious outcome, even for someone like me who never even watched both shows and only knew about them through various out-of-context clips(ofc along with the pre-fight stats). wish they'll have more death battles with this animation quality.
I love how everybody knew Omni Man was gonna win back when that battle first released. Also love how Omni Man stopped playing around when Mark was threatened.
They at least did a good job giving us (maybe just us though haha) a sliver of doubt with the sonic speech and laser eyes. But Omni Man is just way more impressive 😎🤟🤩
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 indeed. And the reasoning was good too. Nolan has fought many aliens of many races, some with super strength. While Homelander only ever fought humans and supers who were never as strong as strong as he was. He's never fought an actual super villain such as Metallo, Darksied or Brainiac. So his disadvantage was clear. Nolan himself in the fight asks _"What's the matter, never fought someone your own size before?"_
If Omni-Man had wanted to, he could have killed him in the first second, but Homelander fucked up and pissed him off by killing Debbie - even if Omni-Man only viewed her as a pet, he still loved her. Letting Homelander think he could win, letting him flail about in futility, he wasn't just killing his body... he killed his spirit.
Hell yes! Omni-Man rules Nolan is super cool. He actually scales higher than even the video states when you factor in Mean Supreme, Spawn, Omnipotus, etc
I like how Homelander is just a bully who tries to use intimidation to scare Omni-Man away but it obviously fails miserably and actually seals his fate
I'd have bet the farm on Omniman. Out of all the Superman knockoffs Homelander is easily the weakest. And wiz described their characters so well Ominman is a warrior while Homelander is a bully. Great reaction as always.
Potential idea for future betting: maybe, while you openly reveal who you’re supporting, you keep the amount you’re betting hidden (maybe by putting the money in an envelope for yourself). This could add an element of suspense for each other and the viewers, make it more difficult for the second person betting to strategize based on the first person, and allow you to save the explanation of your confidence level and mindset for the post-battle discussion. Just a thought; feel free to disregard.
One little detail that I really like is when, just after the truck explodes, both fly right up into the air. First Homelander, then Omni-man much faster. Just to show how much more powerful the Son of Viltrum is. Chef's kiss.
This is the best Death Battle episode ever! And this is how i feel when they learn from their mistakes and do their homework. Cause that is how you make a right DB episode.
With season 3 showing what Homelander is capable of and how he comes up very short than what Stillwell hyped him upto be, even Stain or Levi Ackerman would hand Homelander his ass on a silver platter. Especially Stain. Boy I can't imagine his disgust if he meets Homelander.
So it has just been announced that both of these two will be playable in the new mortal kombat game coming out, I wonder if the end of this fight will be one of omni mans fatalities?
Not a nerf. The eyes and ears are a valid weakness, even for Viltrumites, as confirmed in the comics. And if you notice, the eyes and ears are the only places Omni-Man actually took any real damage. And still he was able to heal almost instantly. The fact is Homelander exploited both weaknesses and still couldn't do shit because he's severely outclassed, not that I'm complaining! This was a good fight as far as Death Battle fights go
It's like they said, Homelander is not a fighter. Give a martial arts master his powers and maybe he could put a dent in omniman, but only that, a dent, nothing more.
That was the best fight i seen that made my friends all put $100 on that fight to see who will win the week it came out four my friends lost their money the other half won their money
The money betting thing is cute and unique. I’d love for you guys to check out Jonathan Joestar vs Tanjiro Kamado since you guys seem to like both Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Demon Slayer. Other recommendations you might like are James Bond vs John Wicke, Batman vs Iron Man, and Ghost Rider vs Lobo.
For anybody who doesn't know the invincible comics, Omni-Man lied when he said Debbie was a pet. He really does love her, and just lied to Mark to lie to himself and try to convince...himself that. So, Homelander doing that...was the worst possible thing he could have done
I like the new system for the bets, and this is still one of the best Death Battles from the most recent season, it may have been short and a big stomp but still great. And while I haven't seen the Boys I have read the Invincible comics, and he may have called his wife a pet that was part of his Viltrumite mind set, but after spending so much time on Earth he does actually loves and cares for his wife and son and the battle does a great job at subtly showing it, that sign he gave when before he responded to Homelander was equal parts anger and disappointment, he's still pissed that his wife is dead but his mindset is so easy to accept that because he knew he'd sadly out live her, and then at the end he ripped his jaw off and fed Homelander his own heart after he threatened to heart his son and he was just done with his Sh*t after that and kept that promise and proceeded to shove his heart down his throat
I haven't read the comic but one thing always worries me. just how strong is Omniman amongst his own kind? I mean he was send to Earth which must have been seen as a very low threat planet so they wouldn't bother to send an elite warrior, like how the Saiyan's sent a new born baby born from the low rank caste to earth as even something as weak as that was deemed enough to kill everyone, unless this mission as some sort of R&R mission for Omniman... taking few decades off between real missions? both are scary ideas!.
You mention near the end that Omni-Man cares less about pets than we do, but I disagree. He DOES care. Hence why he reacted the way he did. He just stayed quiet, took a breath, and went "Welp, time to go full John Wick."
Homelander vs Omni man is ridiculously unfair. Omni man is brutal warrior with thousands of years of experience & skill. Homelander is just bully big fish small pond he’s just strong by default in his show cause almost no else can stand up to him. The animation was beautiful here
Yeah this fight is... a bit of a no brainer. Like, let's assume, for a moment, that Omni Man and Homelander were as strong as each other... Omni Man would still win. Omni Man is from a race of people like him, as strong as him, and he proved himself to be among the best of his own kind. He's fought many, MANY powerful opponents. And then, on the other hand, we have Homelander, who was made in a test tube and never really had to try because he was so much more powerful than anyone else. So even if Homelander was as strong as Omni Man... he wouldn't have the skill or experience to take him down.
Yeah this was definitely a brutal Death Battle 😅 By the way if your recommendation for the next Death Battle to watch, I recommend Hercules (God of Strength) vs Sun Wukong (The Monkey King)

This is definitely the video of all time. Definitely one of my few favourites!
😎🤟🤩
I LIVE for your reactions to gruesome shit like this lmao
And whooo boy, Homelander had that COMIN'.
Yes it was satisfying to see Homelander get crushed like this 😁
Omni man and other viltrumites can heal but regenerating an organ entirely isn’t possible such as an arm or an eye.
Damn he still managed to be badass and say "merry Christmas"
The only reason the fight lasted as long as it did was because Omni-Man wanted Homelander to suffer.
Fun fact: this fight is pure insanity and it’s actually pretty quick
Yeah feels like it could’ve been over even sooner if Omni Man had a dinner reservation to get to 😝
Hell yes! Omni-Man rules
Nolan is super cool. He actually scales higher than even the video states when you factor in Mean Supreme, Spawn, Omnipotus, etc
The fact that we get to see this in mortal kombat VERY soon is amazing to me
Guess who just got announced as DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 1...
i cant describe how happy i am i found your channel last year it really helped keep me up when i was jobless and getting evicted at the time
The best part is both the Invincible fans AND The Boys fans were rooting for Omni-Man.
We have Brightburn, but who knows he might get another movie. And, possibly put him over Homelander.
@@jbeastjj7936 Just by speed I feel we can confidently say that a Brightburn any older than he was in his movie might be too above Homelander.
@@julioc.3158 agreed
9:56 reminds me of when Spiderman killed Mary Jane with his radioactive sperm giving her cancer.
Awesome to see you guys back on death battles. If you are looking for suggestions, samurai jack vs Afro samurai is super sick
😎👍😀
One little detail that I really like is when, just after the truck explodes, both fly right up into the air. First Homelander, then Omni-man much faster. Just to show how much more powerful the Son of Viltrum is. Chef's kiss.
one punch should have been enough for Omniman, he must be playing with his food.
This episode was so good that a page posted the fight on Facebook and people who don't know Death Battle thought it was official.
This is the best Death Battle episode ever! And this is how i feel when they learn from their mistakes and do their homework. Cause that is how you make a right DB episode.
Gotta be my favorite from last year
With good reason 🙂
You guys had probably the best reactions to this episode I’ve seen.
Youth and exuberance is no match for old age and treachery.
Well omni-man gaved what he advertised.
"One is a warrior, while the other is a bully."
That's all you need to know. Homelader vs Omniman = instantloss....for Homelander.
"Good night everybody" is Yako from Animaniacs catch phrase anytime they said anything "Suggestive"
EASILY a top 3 death, minimum
Yeah. Pretty epic 🤩😳🫣😨
The new betting system was very intriguing. Good luck!
Been waiting for you’re reaction to this!
Hope you enjoyed it 😀
That wasn't even a fight it was a massacre
Even the fact it's obvious who wins. They still go ahead and it good and gory as well. It the MOST Gory death ever
God that would have been so much fun
Balrog Vs TJ Combo I love. It’s just a boxing match gone wrong
The fact they had to nerf Omni-Man to where Homelander’s Sonic scream could affect him says a lot.
This was a good fight as far as Death Battle fights go
One thing I noticed in these death battles is that usually, the one who challenges the other fighter is the one who loses. Usually, not always.
I love watching reaction videos to this DB just to see people's reaction to the end.
Eggman vs Wily and the Megaman Royale Death Battle wait be like.
It's like they said, Homelander is not a fighter. Give a martial arts master his powers and maybe he could put a dent in omniman, but only that, a dent, nothing more.
"Omni Man is vulnerable to heat"...Lol, adorable.
Very cool that you reacted to this is such a good vid to react to😊
an ad popped when Homelanders head popped. it was glorious xd
That was something, especially seeing homelander getting wasted. As always incredible video.
That was the best fight i seen that made my friends all put $100 on that fight to see who will win the week it came out four my friends lost their money the other half won their money
Oh no! Who bet on Homelander? Not only losing money but also just getting such a brutal beat down 😳
Ive been waiting for this!
🥳🥳
The money betting thing is cute and unique. I’d love for you guys to check out Jonathan Joestar vs Tanjiro Kamado since you guys seem to like both Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Demon Slayer. Other recommendations you might like are James Bond vs John Wicke, Batman vs Iron Man, and Ghost Rider vs Lobo.
Thanks for the recommendations for future death battle and glad you like the betting touch we added this year 😁
THAT WAS SUCH A BRUTAL ENDING 0-0
This wasn't a death battle, it was a slaughter for Homelander.
This fight is the equivalent of putting a bully against an MMA fighter
Yesss I was waiting for you to watch this one
The way you 2 dropped your jaws too see a jaw broke was like.....whaaaaaaa
Let' the body hit the floor thanks for doing this 🔥🤟
I haven't read the comic but one thing always worries me. just how strong is Omniman amongst his own kind?
Women: Ew! *looks away*
Men: ooh, nice.
lol this was good, omni man can definitely best homelands with ease, can't wait for season 2
Do we know when season 2 is coming? 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 definitely this year, sometime around august
I don't think I've ever seen Bethany cringe so hard as when Omniman broke Homelander's jaw 😆
This is the fight were both fandoms were cheering for one to win. *Omni-man* of course.
Superman & Lous could only have a child when they were near red sun areas
14:17 👀
Love this line!
😁
I recommend doing Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai at some point next.
Can't wait for season 2 of Invincible, because where they left off was a real blue balling
Yes, I'm so hyped for y'all to see this. 😫
Could you check out the deathbattle of Sauron and Lich-king?
¡Yes finally this battle, i love you guys!
Nightwing and Daredevil!
I bet his heart had an artificial taste.
😂 🤢
This one is awesome.
But you guys would love the Joker vs Sweet tooth battle. You guys would love that one.
Yeah this was definitely a brutal Death Battle 😅
By the way if your recommendation for the next Death Battle to watch, I recommend Hercules (God of Strength) vs Sun Wukong (The Monkey King)
