There constellation can be seen in the sky during the Nightmare vs. Guts fight, and the Naruto VS Ichigo fight, ending explosion was so great it got Chuck Norris and Segita to stop fighting for a second to look at it before returning to their fight.
There are a few references here and there of Chuck Norris VS Segata Sanshiro in other Death Battles In Solid Snake VS Sam Fisher: when Sam kicks the cardboard box over trying to find Snake, you can see a picture of Chuck and Segata in outer space wearing the "deal with it" sunglasses on the inside of the cardboard box In Naruto VS Ichigo: after the KO, Chuck and Segata are still fighting, but the end explosion of the Death Battle could be seen from wherever they were, they got distracted by it for a brief moment before they looked back at each other and continued fighting In Doctor Strange VS Doctor Fate: while Strange and Fate are hoping between dimensions during their fight, they enter Asgard and you can see Chuck and Segata's star constellation in the background There's probably more that I missed but these are the ones I know for certain
Oh yeah, the thing about him dating Sakura? IT'S CANON. The Nintendo DS/3DS game 'Project X-Zone 2' flat out states and shows it; Early in a story mission, a group of characters Segata is traveling with meet Sakura...the 2 immediately recognize each other and begin merrily laughing and dancing around each other as they re-connect, much to the bemused confusion of everyone else.... :D
You guys should check out the Segata Sanshiro (Japanese Sega Saturn) commercials. They are pretty hilarious. If SEGA does a Mini Saturn, they should so bring back Sanshiro for it. 😆
