I would love for you guys to cover some Cynthia Rothrock films someday…even some Tony Jaa movies. Ong Bak is still one of the best martial arts movies I’ve seen in 20 years IMO
Many action movies with Moon Lee has crazy stunts where she risk her life...this is why she's my favourite female martial artist because she really piles it on within these dangerous scenes along with her amazing martial art skills that just shows how extremely fast her reflexes are...she's that fast the cameras can't capture enough frames for her fast movements which is why she looks so sped up in fighting scenes sometimes, other than the crazy moment in this movie where she is on top of the car going full speed while she was trying to save this girl hanging out of the car window by the hair there is another crazy moment in another movie While performing the final stunt in 'Devil Hunters ' from 1989 where she suffered a third degree burn by jumping out of a window from a second story building to evade an explosion. Due to bad timing by the pyrotechnicians, she was engulfed in flames before she jumped down, resulting in severe burns to her hands and face including her back...25% of her body was burned that required months of therapy...and in that very moment where you see her jumping out of the widow with the exploding flames behind her the movie cut and ended just like that with the credits rolling...also another actress 'Sibelle Hu' who was in this scene also suffered third degree burns too and it's a miracle that Moon and Sibelle recovered from the burns.
The Chris Farley and Eddie Murphy crossover could work. After all, Farley was originally Shrek before Mike Myers.
I had to watch this movie before I listened to this and I am so thankful. What a ride. I grew up on the Rez watching these cheesy action movies when I could in the 90's and I missed this gem. evil Lu Kang! LMAO
That poor little girl!!! Holy wow what a trooper tho!
That car scene is amazing and terrifying both at the same time lol.
A lot of people from Hong Kong generally have English names, not due to some kind of localization thing with movies. British rule in HK had a lot to do with it.
Ah, ok. That makes a little more sense. Thanks!
I'm definitely gonna check out this flick. Also a MD review of "Black Cat" 1&2 would be awesome.
Im also lacking in Chinese cinema knowledge, mostly Jackie Chan stuff. Ive always ment to check out some Lamb Ngai Kai stuff. He did riki oh and looked like he has a few other crazy ones in his catalog. Keep up the good stuff fellas!
You guys should watch winner and sinners ☺️
If you close youre eyes, this almost sounds like a live action gritty Pokemon movie.
We need an Abel Ferrara episode. 💎💎
take a drink every time you hear the word “guns”
Lol just to let ya know the name changes are chinese thing. most of the time they want to take an english and when you like in a chinese speaking country they want you to have a chinese name. they change all then name in anime and everything else. we call goku and they call him wukong.
Ah, yeah that does make sense. I know Jackie Chan is known as Cheng Long in China so totally lines up. Thanks for watching! 💚📼 -Sean
Yeah I lived in Taiwan for 4 years my name was Lin Da yen. Being an English teacher I named hundreds of kids 😂
I’m pretty sure the anglicization of people’s names from non english speaking countries coming stateside is common. -Joe
I do the same thing with the slip covers, Sean. I like the uniformity of just the case.
YES! Also easy access, I rip those little tabs off some DVDs too haha! 😆
Good way to start a weekend when you gotta work both days
Seans memory is not the best, lol hope he remembers to put in the dumpster 😅
I’ve got the memory of an elephant, what do you mean? 😂 -Sean
Sounds like a fun movie!
Fellas, I love your work, I really do, but I gotta admit I tend to zone out with your history lessons you usually begin these dives with. No all of em, just most. The biggest problem I find is you usually go from history lesson to movie plot in one beat, I need more of a pause or a "OK let's get into the movie!" Just my 2 cents, please don't crucify a casual fan of you and the movies you bring to light.
That’s what we usually have the plot crunch there for, we’ll keep it in mind though! Thanks for watching!
Will watch!
The Chinese equivalent of the Yakuza is the Triad guys. Keep up the good work!.
Slipped our minds! Thanks!
Always enjoy the content! Currently watching slightly after the premiere!
Thanks for watching! 🙏💚📼
This sounds so crazy!
It was fun to catch this one live.
Thanks for hangin’ out! 🙏💚📼
Another great review guys
Thanks for all of your support, man! 🙏💚📼
