I’ve been searching and hoping to run into this movie my entire adult life. I was born in ‘84 and saw this at some point very very young. The mom’s head scene really stuck with me. I thought my young mind twisted Drop Dead Fred into a horror flick. Keep up god’s work fellas, I can rest now. The comedic voice out of a headless body is found and it’s real. What a great movie companion to Drop Dead Fred. A true weight has been lifted.
Glad we could help you solve your riddle! Drop Dead Fred is something we’d love to tackle down the road. Thanks for watching and we’re glad you enjoyed it! 🙏💚📼
@@MovieDumpster This was the brave choice, Drop Dead is more of a trash bin pick not a Dumpster dive. At that age My Demon Lover might as well of been Society. Witch came along a few years later, thank you older cousin Jennifer. No sarcasm here, a weird kid loving odd films. Who knew there were so many of us.
After listening to most episodes of the show, starting from season 2, i must praise you guys for continually upgrading in quality and production values. Big fan of the show guys, keep being awesome!
Sweet Lord!!!! I saw this in 4th grade. I thought I imagined this movie. Never knew the name of it. I tried to explain it to people, but no one knew what I was talking about.
First seeing you guys were live &putting out a Stream and review tonight was such an awesome surprise for myself!! I Didn’t know you guys were going on tonight. I was in Bensalem , at Golden Corral finishing up dinner when I noticed. I immediately rushed to pay my bill , as well as having to take part in their mandatory, company policy, after dinner Brawl with Staff & customers!! It was fine tho. I try and always use Proper Etiquette of course. But now I’m finally ready to indulge in Delight some Rich and delicious dumpster filled Delicancys!! .God bless us everyone. !!
Heard the title of the film and for some reason I thought of that movie "the Love Witch". PS. "My boyfriend's back" would be another film for a valentines day review, it's a zombie comedy, it has Ed Herman and Philip Seymore Hoffman in it, plenty to work with.
Wow, great pull. I love all this under the radar horror stuff and I've never heard of this at all. It looks awesome. Side note, I loved all your appearances on Hack The Movies for a while now but finally started checking out some of your episodes and I'm hooked. Can't wait to burn through your back-catalogue, great stuff.
I remember that Let Go song. It also plays in the early part of Night of the Creeps right when the killer brings the ax down on Tom Atkins' ex-girlfriend from high school. Then it goes to the present day when the movie goes from black and white to color.
Just wanted to thank you guys for manifesting the Blu-ray release as you have done for many other fantastic pieces of art that need to be discovered by a larger audience
So bit of an info drop because I'm very familiar with this guy. Robert Trebor, Charles in this film, played the recurring character on both Hercules and Xena in the 90s named Salmoneus, and he was frankly awesome in that role because he was this money hungry schemer basically but he had a morality within him that Hercules and Xena would both see many times where he did the right thing or helped save people, or went out and found them when some town was in peril and he knew about it. So I know him from those shows a lot, and it's probably his most famous long running role in a thing. Really good comedy actor. Kinda blew my tits off when I saw him randomly in this film, but everyone has those past little known roles that surprise lol. If you liked that bar scene he's got all sorts of shit like that going on in those shows. Probably can find some clips on here. You may have picked up on it also, but his last name Trebor is a stage name and it's Robert backwards.
I was 4 when this hit in 87 so I probably didn't find it till I was 5 or 6 and it instantly became one of my favorites. I was actually able to track down one of the cardboard DVDs at Amoeba Music in Hollywood three or four years ago👹💋
One of my all time favorites! Used to watch it on cable all the time back in the day. I have it on a MOD dvd. Love to see it get a nice blu ray some day. Side note. I was watching it a couple weeks ago and my 7 year old walked in the room right at the part where the bad guy blows on his thumb and explodes, man my son started cracking up at that. Kinda warmed my heart that he found it as funny as I do.
A few weeks back, Turner Classic Movies was airing this film so I set my PVR. I finally got to it today and so you know I had to rewatch your review . Both the movie and this review was hilarious 😂
I actually saw this movie in the theater and remember enjoying it a lot. I even had a viewer’s crush on Michelle Little. Unfortunately the movie seems to have fallen into obscurity.
Me too, just did my own review on my channel after a watch party with friends. I have loved it since age 11. Thank you guys for reminding people of this gem!👹🖤
@@MovieDumpster Girlfriend from Hell is amazing...maybe not good. BUT AMAZING. As a kid, I thought she just sucked souls...and as I got older, I realized it was a different kinda sucking. I'm going thru season one, but, had to see this. I excited to see Munchie & The Willies. I Come in Peace, would be fun.
How do you guys not have more views/likes? I guess your not riding cinnemascre coattails like some people, lol. Jk? Hmmm...anyways good shit I can't just do the podcast, I needed the visual thing mostly to see the movie scenes. good luck! Hope yall do well. You know why they call it "V" day....wink wink...look forward to your future vid.s.
Holy shit... You guys take soooo long to get to the point.... And the high pitch shrieking you guys make is so damn annoying... I just wanted to see a review... Maybe calm down on the over exaggerating...

Thanks for the love for this film, too many gems slip through the cracks.
Thanks for watching! 🙏💚📼

Granny Van Damme is like the "Watcher"(TM) of the MDU. She just pops up everywhere. GVD rules!
Demon to some, angel to others!

This movie haunted me for a long time……I thought it wasn’t a real movie….but….yeeeeaaaahhh

i remember watching My Demon Lover when it was on HBO one time back then during 1988 to 1990. a weird supernatural romance comedy.

This movie sounds like a wacky, undiscovered gem. Where do you find these things anyway?

Robert Trebor played that drunken film critic in The Devil's Rejects in a fairly funny scene.

That demon looks a little too much like Bilbo Baggins for my taste
I was very confused by the picture. But it made me hopeful for a hobbit sex show.
Saw this in the theater with a date
You need to talk about My Stepmother is An Alien or Getting Away With Murder.
