I know its "old" content by internet standards, but this is no nonsense truth. We used to drive the South East coast beaches at low tide until we found structure to set up on. Rods up front are always indicated for these reasons, plus if you have really long surf rods, you can avoid breaking them on things like power lines on your way to the beach. That helps. Back in the day, the old salty folk would advise you of your shortcomings. This whole video is really a free pro tip. Ill ask for more fishing videos now...but RF has a job to do and there's fishing content so thick I often trip and fall in it. Tight lines yall!

Good info. I was gonna invite you to Matagorda Beach for a change of pace. However, the 1st day of archery season comment means you ain't fishing now, but you were a few months ago.....lol. Thanks for all the work on your channel. It's great!

Please tell me all those rods are at least 300 spine Foc>35%.
The lures look a little light. LOL.
Love it all keep it coming.

Thanks for the fishing videos. I also watched a video you posted awhile back "surf fishing Padre Island Oct 2021" I was curious what rod, reel & line you were using?

So I run lews speed spools. I don't know the model, its the middle priced stuff. Gear ratio under 7:1. Not the fast stuff.
15 pound Trilene XT, it just works.
      7'6" medium action Falcon HD.
I prefer longer rods in general to control the fish once they are on. In the surf, in Texas, the best conditions are SE winds which is in your face. Longer rods help drive the lure into it.

Guessing a major under-carriage washing after each trip for sand and salt removal? Deer season ended here in Kentucky yesterday. Looking forward to some hog murder videos. Predator hunting and trapping in for coyote, fox, bobcat, and turkey egg eater coons and possums.

@@RanchFairy Many years ago I bought a truck "for a deal" not knowing how bad rust could be on vehicles subjected to salt water or even some type of mining operations. One of the leaf spring brackets disintegrated and the leaf spring in the rear slammed into the bottom of the truck bed. Upon inspection by a mechanic, he said the entire frame was on the verge of breaking in half from corrosion.

@@RanchFairy like a thief in the night. Also, thank you for the info you shared in your surf trout videos as well as some answers you had to my “new guy fishing the surf” questions. I had some success last summer down in Padre island. Caught a few good trout and hooked what I believe was a big black drum. At least it fought like one. It had that 7’ 6” medium action falcon tripled over and drag peeling, but I never set eyes on the fish. It hit my heavy dine about 15 yards out in the first gut and never checked up.
