It will be another 2 weeks before i can go again and figure out what I dont/need to know. Luckily I will be moving into a house 200 yards from the beach. Ill let you know later.

      My first time watching surf fishing and a beginner, great video!
      The white tube holding the rods smart!
      Question though, do I really need an 11 foot fishing rod 😅 or can I use something else

    🎣 at 5:42 you said to keep rod tip down when reeling in, ...
    Example, - bass anglers do that, from side to side when reeling in, ...
    It is best for keep the rod tip higher but not straight up, so that the bend of the rod, the rod's action comes into play, when reeling in a fish,! ...
    That is what rods are designed for and and also for casting ability,! ... 🎣

    Nicely done for beginners. Things were clearly stated and not intimidating. I do things differently yet your presentation was well done.

    I wouldn’t personally lead a beginner to believe they need a shock leader and braid. Cheap mono is totally fine to start. With that said, a really great video! Good tips. Nice cart too!

    • @Mikey4808
      @Mikey4808 3 года назад +3

      Agreed. Braid has its benefits but mono works just fine as well. With mono you can just tie up and throw. You can also use the mono directly from your spool as trace line, which keeps things simpler and tackle bags lighter. I've been fishing for more than 25 years and I still prefer mono for most applications

      I prefer flourocarbon line to Braid when surf fishing. The main reason, is that braid is more abrasive and actually presents more resistant to current, so it gets dragged back to shore much faster than mono. Mono line stays out there much better than braid. Now, when plugging, I go braid all the way! Great video.

    Thx for vid! NooB question: In the vid you hdont appear worried about the water coming up past your sand spike. Alot of times I keep moving mine as the tide changes for fear of the spike being washed out ever though I do hammer the spikes down. Please give thoughts

    I've got to disagree with one thing and that's putting your rod up higher in the holder.
    I had a shark take my line out 200 yards a couple days ago and if it wasn't put in all the way I'd be out of my best rod.
